I'd heard so much about the "famous" gorditas offered in Querétaro. Certainly, after climbing la Peña de Bernal I was quite hungry, and after returning to the base, we found Doña Coco selling gorditas. It seemed like as good a place as any, so we gave them a whirl. The reality is that I enjoyed my first gordita (pork), but was underwhelmed with my second (chorizo). They were far less greasy than those I've found in D.F., and I appreciated that difference. Still, they weren't so amazing that I needed to go out of my way to try them. The salsa was good. The atmosphere was weak. I wish I had more positive to say about this place. read more
