I bought Gorants chocolate covered cherries for years and in 2023 they changed their recipe, I don't like them anymore. I am really disappointed they changed the chocolate. I go to Giannos now. read more

You can get prepared boxes in many different sizes, or an assistant will help you select what you want from their large assortment of candy. They also carry greeting cards and small gifts. Great chocolates! They even gift wrap for free when you buy chocolates for a gift. My only complaint is that when you buy box chocolates, they don't have a map of what each one is. There's a colored map on the sample box of the different sizes, but there's no map in the box box that you actually buy. So, you don't find out what's inside to bite into it. Someone from the business responded to my review and explained that the inside of the box changes with inventory and seasons. My suggestion is since that is the case, it would be nice to just have a key with each type of chocolate pictured and a description of what's inside of it. That would enable the consumer to match the chocolate in question with the pictures to figure out which one it is and would also work when contents change since I'm sure there's a finite number of flavors that are produced. read more

So delicious! We decided to stop in and satisfy our sweet tooth. Wow! So many options to choose from! It was overwhelming to just pick a few goodies. I decided to go with a buckeye, champagne truffle, and a hazelnut truffle. The buckeye was perfection, so yummy, just the right amount of sweetness. I loved the hazelnut truffle, the chocolate truffle inside was so smooth and rich. And the champagne truffle was good, but not my favorite. It really didn't have much of a champagne flavor, but it was still a pleasant taste! I would love to go back to this shop if I lived close enough! This is definitely worth a visit! read more

Convenient location off of the main drag. Chocolate is outstanding, creamy, delicate, tasteful and ever so yummy in any variety imaginable. Boxed versions, or separately wrapped, the chocolate is consistent and is so very hard to limit yourself. Since I was in the Buckeye State, I figured I'd try some candy Buckeyes. If you don't know, this is a candy buckeye: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckeye_candy I phoned Gorant to make sure they had some in stock (my Aunt thought it might be a seasonal thing) and they were so nice on the phone also giving me prices and their hours of operation that day. This shop is full of hand-made chocolate confections and gifts. Stuffed animals and cute little trinkets. Methinks that if you are looking for something cute to go along with that box of chocolate you're gifting, this is the perfect place to do some shopping. Along with the Buckeyes, there are small truffles, caramels, fudge, turtles (although I don't know if they call them turtles here). The chocolate case was so full of goodies that I cannot remember all of the things offered. Since I was in a time crunch I settled on a couple of boxes of Buckeyes and they tied them up with gold twine--so pretty! As for me, I'm a sucker for good truffles so I bought some for myself. I honestly didn't care for the candy buckeyes, the texture of the peanut butter was not creamy enough and it was too sweet for me. But the truffles were delicious--especially the dark chocolate. Service was ever so sweet and and the gal that helped me out happened to be the one that makes the jumbo Buckeyes. They aren't kidding when they say Jumbo--those thing were as big as softballs! The prices can't be beat either. I spent about 20bux for 3 small boxes of buckeyes and a small box of truffles. Not a bad deal for well-made chocolate! read more

What a cute little chocolate shop! The staff is very attentive and the selection is quite large. After my husband got me some sugar free chocolates for Valentines Day (I was watching my sugar that week!) I went back to buy truffles for a friend. They also package them beautifully and will wrap the box. You don't get that kind of service at Godiva people :) read more

The one in Boardman on 224 beside dunkin donuts and Panera is great. The people are so nice. Helpful great sales.

When I was a kid I would visit my relatives in Youngstown and always come to Gorant. Still one of my favorite chocolates.

Very disappointed with the lack of professionalism and service received from Becky and the manager Carol. Was promised a discount for the volume I was purchasing and then when I got to the register, she said I needed $50 more than she originally stated. Very sad. I went to the other candy store near by and they got the sale. read more

Gorant's is the best! I was lucky enough to grow up in Lordstown, Ohio, and have enjoyed Gorant's since the 1970s. Now that I live in the Toledo area, I am very fortunate to have a candy store here that sells Gorants (along with other favorites from across the country so that everyone can find something they loved in the past). My favorite Gorant candy is the sponge, the graham crackers, the nougat bars, the key lime creams, the Millcreek assortment...ah, heck...it's all wonderful! So many great memories of their fabulous Easter candies...I would call up a store, have them make up a huge basket for my parents (who each owned 32 sweet teeth).. Anyway, you can't go wrong with Gorant! read more
