Do not go to Hyden, Leslie County without stopping at this renamed place. Goofy's is a business owned by a old man and his wife. They are very gifted at cooking great food. I ate there for the first with friends and I was amazing. The mayor of Hyden actually recommended me this place and I it was not a disappointment at all. The good was just gorgeous. They have a wide variety of meal that they cook with expertise acquires over years. From Cheeseburger to the famous Goofy's meal, one could find at least a great cook with eastern expertise. I got half a Goofy meal and was stunned by both the taste and the quantity. It is a French Fries cover with a sauce made of ground beef, beans and bacons. It is a little chili and incredibly good. Goofy's interior design may be humble, but their portions aren't. The only way you could finish a whole Goofy meal is if you were an all you can eat champion or you brought 5 of your closest friends to tag team. Don't let the size intimidate you though; the food is excellent. Goofy's is a husband and wife owned pool hall and restaurant. They run the establishment as well as cook the food. The meat they use is fresh every day. For big helpings the prices are fantastic, you can get full and satisfied for under 5 dollars. I had the cheeseburger which was juicy and flavorful. My colleagues had half of the Goofy meal which is chili, cheese, fries and bacon. They were generous enough to let me taste some of their food. The mayor speaks highly of the place and you will not be disappointed with your service or the quality of the food. This mom and pap's diner is on the way away from the central business district of Hyden. It has pool tables with all the equipment to play as you wait for your food or enjoy a round of pool after the meal. The interior is very simple and gives the ambiance of a restaurant in a small town. The service was moderate to good. It was rather slow and little interaction was made with the guests. Overall I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who would like to experience a mom and pap's restaurant. read more

Our group of five dropped into Goofy's for lunch today. I got to watch them place their hand-mixed hamburger meat on the grill with their own blend of spices. They also freshly grilled up the bacon and the lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle were just as crisp and fresh as could be. I got a bacon cheeseburger, soda, and heaping plate of crispy fries that was delicious for just under seven dollars. I would highly recommend Goofy's if you are ever in Hyden! read more

This is the hot spot for locals. During the time we were in the restaurant, several county officials came in and got carryout orders. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with large fries and a Sprite. I was expecting a ten dollar total, but it only came out to $6.75. The food was very good, especially for the price! I really expected better. Locals recommend this place as if it is really great. The food was good for a burger restaurant and the price was cheap. However, the atmosphere was very unwelcome. There was also only a total of ten seats. The parking was on the side of the road and difficult to safely pull out of. I was starving when I came to the restaurant, so I'm not sure if it was because of my screaming stomach or the food was actually good. But the food was nice for the price, I paid only $6 for my spicy chicken burger, onion rings, and a pool game. I will definitely go back there if I go to Hyden again. read more
