Updating my review from a few years ago. I love coming here now because t hey finally have a staff that cares. I come here for most things for my vehicle. I will say my only complaint is I wish they wouldn't tell me that my oil change will only take 40 minutes and it literally turns into 2 hours. So it's honestly just easier to drop off your car than to wait. There have been a few times when I needed my air checked on my tires and they took care of me right away. We were traveling cross country and encountered an unexpected mechanical issue in Topeka. We showed up on a Saturday morning at 8 AM and Lynn, the GM, quickly diagnosed our issue and set out to do the repair so we could make our deadline to get to Denver same day. We were in and out of there in less than two hours. I was very impressed with the staff for their professionalism and especially for Lynn's technical knowledge. He even topped off our fluids. So...there's a Goodyear location on Westport Drive, and they're overall good, I'm told. Good service, friendly people, few drawbacks. The Goodyear location on Croix, on the other hand, is not that. There's one service guy there who's actually good, and maybe one mechanic who's also good. Everyone else needs to switch out and let other people come in. I suspicion all of the good reviews are people who invariably get the one good service guy and the one good mechanic, or else people who are actually reviewing other Goodyear locations in the city. There's no way, with the fat old curmudgeonly guy working there, that this many people have avoided his "service" and received quality work. There's just no way. Here's my most recent experience, which was about a year ago: the only reason I ever went back to this location after receiving bad-to-mediocre service in the past was because, well, I wasn't paying attention when I set up the appointment, I had forgotten about previous poor service at this location, and I had a severely deep discount on tires. With the discount, I should have gone to the location on Westport, but I wasn't thinking because I was also in the middle of planning a trip and had a bunch of stuff on my mind. Because I was in a time crunch and my regular mechanic wasn't available before I left for the trip, I had this Goodyear fix the brakes, which weren't working properly, while they did my alignment and tires. I initially talked to the one service guy who is actually competent, but when I dropped off my car, the only guy available was the fat old curmudgeon. I was in a hurry, so when he told me that he wasn't even about to attempt doing most of the things I talked about on the phone with the other guy, I didn't bother arguing, figuring I'd have my regular mechanic do them when I got back. As long as the alignment, tires, and brakes were good, I was going to be satisfied. Well, they told me I'd have to just get brand new brakes. Alright, fine. The old ones weren't working properly, and I just needed them to work so my daughter and I would be safe on the road. Even though (as I've since found out) a more skilled mechanic should have been able to repair them, whoever worked on my car only possessed the skill to replace them with expensive new ones. Stupid me, I figured they could at least install them correctly. Nope. As it turns out, they installed the rear brakes in reverse, with the left on the right and the right on the left. This meant that every time I stopped, the tension was releasing and the brakes were falling open. It took a skilled mechanic (my actual mechanic) to figure this out later. If those brakes had failed when I had my daughter in the car, I wouldn't just be leaving a bad review, I'd have sued, because it would have been provable negligence or incompetence that endangered her life. Fortunately, the front brakes worked fine, and I used exclusively them until I could repair the rear brakes. Now we move on to the tires. I bought Goodyear Assurance All-Season tires, rated for 65,000 miles. That was a year ago. I didn't drive even half of that distance in a year, but they're already bald. That's the reason for this review, because I just had to replace the bald tires that I got a year ago. I don't know what they actually gave me, but they must have been either used or bad stock, because I've had those tires before and they've lasted for years. They didn't even do the alignment correctly, because I had to have my regular mechanic correct that, too. What did I pay them for? It's taken a year to uncover the breadth of their shoddy work, so I'll be seeking compensation now, I'm just not sure what I'll be able to get. The fat old guy needs to retire already and stop treating people like crap, and he certainly needs to be held accountable for his poor service. Whichever mechanic did the work on my car needs to go back to school. Mark my words: do not go to this location. read more

The staff were helpful and honest. Being a woman going into auto shops can be intimidating but they were very thorough and went above and beyond my expectations. Brian the manager is wonderful to work with. The waiting room was roomy for those worried about being in close proximity to others and the air conditioning was fabulous. read more

Fast easy oil change today. Good. Telling the clerk do not roll the window down, then coming back to a Truck with window now ripped off the track to place the window shut with tape. Bad... Thinking the customer is ignorant of the fact that window will now cost more to replace. Worse. Not owning to said fact and just playing dumb... Cant come back. read more

I had my wife's minivan worked on and was told that the auto belt tensioner needed to be replaced. I was told the total would be $275. I looked it up online (which I already know is not always correct) and it shows it should be around $225-$250. So, $275 is fine. I go to pick up the minivan and he presents me with a $350 bill. I tell them that was not the quote. He has to go back and talk to the manager to get it back to the $275 plus tax which still makes it over $300. Fine. I go start my vehicle and the same exact noise is clicking away. I drive it up the front and they say they installed a faulty tensioner and will call me when they find a new one. This is the 2nd straight time that I've paid them to do work, they complete it, and I drive away with the same problem. My faith in this store is gone - will not ever return! This location does a great job of explaining everything and finding me the best possible price for the products that meet my needs. I am awful at checking my air pressure and airing up my tires.
