We were traveling through Danville and had the check engine light turn on. We got there first thing on A Saturday morning and they quickly diagnosed the problem, explained what it was, consulted us that it was something that could wait to be addressed when we got home, or offered to fix it on the spot but estimated it would take 6-8 hours. We decided to wait to fix until we got home and made it without any trouble. Our local mechanic confirmed the same diagnosis. This Goodyear is Danville is the worst. I have taken my car there several times and that's because they had to either redo or fix something they didn't fix or so right the first time. They did a tire rotation but didn't balance them. We got our brakes replaced and there was still metal on metal rubbing. Replaced the windshield wipers but when we got the car back told us we needed windshield wiper fluid. Who replaced the wipers but doesn't add wiper fluid? Went for an oil change and inspection and they forgot to do the oil change. Unbelievable. Not sure why this is the quality of work we get in Danville. Maybe it's just Goodyear. read more

I scheduled an appointment online for a quick oil change/tire rotation prior to moving out of state. I get there and was told that I did not have an appointment, and had to wait an hour to get in. However, I got an email confirmation for the appt. I was to get a $5.00 discount for scheduling online, and the manager said he'd adjust it when I make my payment. He comes out after and tells me I need all these other services of which I decline, as my car has only 32,000 miles. Then he actually tells me, that there is a cover over my oil filter and it, "takes while to remove, so they charged me $5.00 for the extra time". WOW, lazy manager didn't want to adjust the payment is all. I get my oil changed as needed. STAY AWAY from this location. I went to a Goodyear in TX and had excellent service...for free as well. So it's location only, not all Goodyear's. read more

I took my car in for new tires and an alignment nothing else and no reason for them to go under my hood. I get a call saying my car needs close to $500 worth of other things done to it. Pick my car up and take it somewhere else the next day for a second opinion and they said everything on my car was fine nothing they said needed to be done actully needed fixed/replaced yet. If you go there and they say you need a whole bunch of stuff done please get a second opinion first. read more

Took my 92 Accord there to get a tire rotation. I came out with a nail in EACH of my rear back tires. Let this sink in, they were BRAND NEW TIRES! They said they couldn't plug them up and it was against policy. I had to get my cousin to plug them up at his shop, and I will NEVER return to any Goodyear. The one in Greensboro, NC had put my mom's SUV on their lift to see what was wrong with it and came back with a sheet with all these codes on it such as suspension failed, upper ball joints needed replacements, etc. Their failure actually turned on the suspension check light on the truck, which didn't happen beforehand. Turn out from a shop friend of mine, the only thing the truck needed was it's lower ball joints to be replaced. Got them done for 3/4ths the price Goodyear was trying to overcharge. My advice, stay FAR away from any Goodyear. read more

I have always trusted Goodyear...I had an appointment at 10:00 am. I took my 2005 S60 Volvo in for a COOLING SYSTEM FLUSH on April 4, 2017 ($103.37) and was assisted by Mr. Adkins Jr. (Store manager) and Mr. Barksdale (Service manager). They took the car in at 10:08 and returned it at 12:02, this was to be a 40 to 55 minute task. It took 2 hours but I was glad just to have my car completed. As I was driving home I noticed the temperature gauge was not working!!! I returned and they agreed to look at the problem, after spending another 75 minutes looking for the problem they asked me to come back in the morning which I agreed. They (Mr. Adkins Jr., Store manager) and (Mr. Barksdale, Service manager) talked to me as if I brought my car in with a broken temperature gauge which is TOTALLY FALSE and both Mr. Adkins and Mr. Barksdale knew it. They told me it was an electric problem and they could not help me. I contacted the Goodyear HQ in Akron, Ohio and they told me that they are required to do a procedures that checks for broken and damaged things on the car prior to bringing the vehicle into there shop...it protects them as well as me. I know they saw that the gauge worked prior to entering there Goodyear auto shop. My advice to anyone considering using this location at 450 Mount Cross Rd. is to do their homework!!! These are the most unscrupulous business people I have encountered in Danville, VA, business must be really bad at this location that they have to cheat people on their repairs!!! Never again!! Went to go get my oil changed the beginning of the month. My car started acting up yesterday and this morning. Took it to another mechanic and he said "I know why your car isn't acting right, you have no oil". He showed it to my husband. My husband asked if we had a leak and they said no. So we went back to this store and they said they "put oil in my car" when they did the oil change. "You must have an oil leak" they said. They also said that our car wouldn't run if it didn't have oil. They offered no refund/discount for another oil change. They simply stated to come back tomorrow to speak to the manager. This could've done huge damage to my engine!! They took my money and did nothing to my car! I also went back to another mechanic and asked him how my rear breaks looked and he said you have a good 3 months and you will need them. (This Goodyear place said I needed them because they were metal on metal and I needed to get them replaced) read more

I decided to make an appointment at this Goodyear service center in order to get an oil change and allow them to perform their vehicle inspection that comes with the $30.00 oil change. I told the salesman at the counter, twice, to please have the mechanics check the brakes because they had went out on Saturday, and after working on them Sunday they were still not exactly right. After waiting while four other customers came and went I was finally called to the sales counter. I was "greeted" by a salesman and a mechanic that both looked at me like I had insulted their mothers. I was told by the salesman that I needed my front bearings repacked at $70.00 apiece. I told them that I would have to wait on the bearings, but what about my brakes. The mechanic said they were pretty much fine but I did need new pads, he then asked what was wrong with the brakes. I told him about them going out and the work that I did. He said the front pads might fix it. I paid for the oil change and went to leave. The mechanic had pulled the truck to the front door. I got in to leave and somehow the positive battery cable had been removed from the starter. I had to fix that myself. I then pushed the brakes once the vehicle was started, the brake pedal went to the floor. I am positive that replacing the brake pads will not fix that. I am lucky I made it home. I can't believe they allowed me to drive like that. Don't send your mothers, daughters and grandmothers here! read more
