Their fitting rooms are closed. I dont like to buy clothes without trying them on, so I left empty handed despite finding some really cute pieces. They had a ton of clothes compared to the last time I went, perhaps because of the fitting room issue. I also find that this Goodwill has higher prices than other thrift stores in the area ($6-15 for pants, $16 for sheet set, $30 for sewing machine). They do have a wide selection and some donated newer stuff, which is good. Employees are friendly. But I won't be going back unless they open the fitting rooms. read more

The customer service was very friendly. Personally the store was too cramped for me. The clothing selection for men, women, and kids selection was pretty okay by my standards. The knick knacks and decorations supply was low. I came here specifically for secondhand toys, alas I almost couldn't find any. There was a bin of plushies and a few board games. So I've been here several times.. mostly to donate kids outgrown items. Same reason today. If you choose to, your Donations are tracked and you earn credits which can be later redeemed as "rewards". I think it takes awhile to accrue though. My 3 large pieces of children's furniture earned me 10 points today. If you are shopping try to avoid holiday weekends. Other folks have the same idea. Prices are not competitive but you may find a treasure or 2 in the modest inventory. Check your items carefully, I've noticed a few flaws on items. Otherwise it's clean, bright, & neatly organized. I recently went to this location because Ann Arbor's Salvation Army was not open for me to leave any donations. I also like Salvation Army but Unfortunately they did not have anyone there to accept donations at the day/time I showed up! I googled Goodwill from my vehicle and found this Goodwill location which is open more often and longer hours to accept donations! Everyone was friendly, professional, and they even complimented me and my German Shepherd who I brought with me! They made sure to ask me if I needed a receipt which I always do! Every experience I have ever had at this location has been poor. Employees are always rude. Most difficult and specific donation drop off I have ever experienced. They refuse to take 90% of what I bring to donate (nothing is dirty or broken) and act annoyed that I even tried to bring it to them! I would stay away from this Goodwill. This place is fine. I had good experiences with both shopping and drop off back in 2021, but it seems to have gone downhill since then. For one, dressing rooms were open in 2021 and now seem to be permanently closed -- so while they have a good selection of some clothing (I.e. jeans) I will never purchase there. This goodwill seemed to get better items in 2021 than now, too. I don't know if the Ann Arborites are donating elsewhere, or if the donations are getting shipped off to other goodwills. Most abusive place I have ever worked for. Got targeted and gaslit because the store manager didn't like me challenging *HIS* ideas and told me my ideas were shit despite the fact that almost all of them were based on what his customers themselves told me. Told them I had an anxiety disorder and couldn't deal with his aggressiveness and he told me he didn't care and that that was my "personal business", despite the fact that Goodwill is supposed to be supportive of people with disabilities or people going through a rough patch, etc. This place is founded on nothing but lies and you will be sold an idea based on lies when you go through the interview. read more

This is hands down the cleanest and most organized Goodwill I have ever visited. I was super impressed. My only complaint is that it took forever to checkout and the line was really long. My friends and I decided to go thrift shopping one weekend, and we stopped at this Goodwill. We weren't looking for anything in particular, but managed to spend a full hour exploring. The store is organized thematically, with furniture in one area, clothing in a separate location, electronics in another, etc. For anyone new to thrift-shopping, I recommend instituting a personal spend-limit (otherwise you might get carried away!) We perused the clothing, pored through board games, but spent most of our time in the electronics section. I can assure you that there are some crazy inventions/devices that end up here (some of which are unopened likely because they have no real purpose.) The employees seem a little impatient, mainly because they're being pulled in every direction by customers. Overall, Goodwill is a staple for any thrift-shopping spree, and it's worth a quick stop. read more

This is my second time at this place and they have kept their store organized and clean as last time. I was quite impressed. It's hard to see Goodwill stores being clean and organized since they also do the donations and it's not easy to keep track of everything but this place does an amazing job. Hats off. They have a huge parking lot as well. Last time I shopped there, I found some brand new dress pants for work and they were less than $7 and it was an absolute steal. Also, be sure to participate in their rewards program which they will give you credits for the purchases and also you will get emails regarding the sales and promotions. If you sign up for the rewards at this location, it is good for the entire greater Detroit area stores of Goodwill. Be sure to step in and check it out. read more

Made an account just to write this review. This is the worst thrift store I've been to in Michigan in a long time. First of all, the prices were ABSURD. I went there like a week ago and they were trying to charge me $3.99 for a REALLY TINY tupperware container that I could've bought for the same price or LESS at meijer, which is RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from this place. Keep in mind everything at goodwill is USED. Just go yourself and take a look at the prices on everything there. They're literally on par with RETAIL prices. When I asked their manager "MJ" at the time if she could lower the price on it since it was ridiculous, she told me that she couldn't do that. I tried to explain to her in the most polite way possible that it was an unfair price and she told me it was the lowest they could go. The staff was really helpful and they were obviously trying their best but management there is rude as all hell. Go to any other thrift store, their prices aren't even close to as bad as this place. Go support your local thrift store and stop giving money to greedy corporate thrift stores!!!!!! read more

Clean! This hardy seems like a thrift store because it's so clean and organized. The music is so relaxing, the heat is on to keep you warm from outside, and the bathrooms are even mega clean. I came here to stock up on some sweaters and jackets since I'm visiting the North coming from Texas. I was so impressed. I got 5 sweaters, two name-brand jackets, and a pair of boots for $45. My sweaters are names like Gap, Old Navy, American Eagle... I got the boots for 99 cents, I couldn't believe it. I definitely recomend this thrift store. read more

Overpriced compared to PTO and habitat restore. Lots of new things like socks and sports bras which you might want to buy new but of terrible quality and no bargain either: you'd do better to go to target for those. Only a few tools and housewares, which was what I wanted. Their goal seems to be to offer everything a person might need to clothe themselves in one spot but you would pay more for that than at, say, Kiwanis. Another way that poorer folk are at a disadvantage when thrifting. You don't always have the luxury of waiting a whole week to buy a cheaper and better coat or pair of slacks. read more

The store is clean and well lit, and the prices of the items are identified by a color plastic marker. Each week all merchandise with a specific color coded tag (one of 5 color codes) is 50% off, and some days have special discounts for specific sections of the store (music/movies, furniture, framed art, shoes, etc.). Also, every Tuesday is Military/Veteran discount day, and Wednesdays have senior discounts. On the last Wed. of this month (March), the Ann Arbor store will offer everything 50% off. You can take home a sheet that shows all the specials of the month. On top of all these promotional days, you can save money by doing these 2 things: 1. Sign up for points. For every 100 points (1 dollar spent before taxes= 1 point) 2. Donate! Every bag you donate (on the side of the building) is worth 25 points. (I don't know if there is a required size of how big the bag has to be.) Now for the merchandise. I am in the process of changing my wardrobe, and I needed to find a lot of clothes. So I have spent 2 mornings already shopping at the Ann Arbor store. The clothes are arranged by types of clothes and by colors rather than sizes; so you will need to spend some time sorting through the items. Some items had slight pilling, and I did detect a few clothes with obvious stains, as I see Lisa had mentioned. Although the store isn't huge, I did find a lot of clothes that were stylish, in good shape, and in fashion with well-known labels. There are 2 dressing rooms (again, well-lit) on both sides of the store with ample room to try on the clothes and hang them up. A return rack stands by the rooms for the clothes that will not be purchased. I can easily feel depleted after looking for clothes, trying them on, and deciding what to buy. But I did not have this experience! It was very pleasant for me, and I will be checking this store on a regular basis. I like that some items, like accessories - scarves, gloves, socks, etc. are brand new.The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. I encourage everyone to check out this store! read more

This thrift store is not special. It's clean but not organized. The stuff sold there isn't very exciting (not the store's fault). If you're doing the old halloween costume put together it'll do you some good--that's what i was doing when I popped in. I was looking for something to use for my post Malone costume and I found a decent piece that shrunk in the wash but I can't complain considering that along with the shirt I bought, I found one of my coolest Goodwill discoveries to date. I was walking through the aisle when i saw a neon green sleeve that caught my eye. I took the sweater off the rack and noticed that it looked like the "portal" from Rick and Morty (I've never seen the show but I know from screenshots or advertising). The tag said 'Daylight Curfew #120/200' which I found interesting so I looked it up online. Apparently the sweater is a limited edition piece from a collab between the show and the clothing brand. It retails for 140 bucks and there are only 200 in existence. I bought it for 4 dollars. I'm taking it to ebay to hopefully make bank off of people who will like it more than me. Phenomenal find in a less than phenomenal Goodwill--but that doesn't mean there isn't the possibility that there are more treasures out there waiting to be found. read more

Store is very dirty. Cashier on duty (3/12/2019...4:30pm) had a bad attitude, was extremly rude to customers in line. She has no idea what customer service means, she kept walking away from the register to go in backroom, this happened twice on this day. The lady in front of me actually had her credit card in machine when this clueless employee walked away again to go in back room. maybe she was on drugs or something, I have never seen this kind of behavior in a customer service situation. It's hit or miss for me when I thrift shop here. It's been some time since I've made any purchases. I still shop there 1-2 times a week. The store is very clean. For the most part the staff is great. I had a problem w/ a cashier, and mentioned it to another staff person. To find out it was the supervisor. So the cashier was spoken to. They just don't seem to get higher end items donated here. Very rude and hostile manager, and mostly incompetent employees. Selection is really pathetic. I've shopped at about 10 Goodwill stores across the country in the past decade or so, and this is the worst. I do go regularly because of the Kroger 25% off coupon, and because as bad as the selection is, I usually walk out with something useful and affordable. But only because I cannot afford to shop at full-price stores; this is the only charity shop in the neighbourhood; and it's conveniently located next to Gordon's and opposite Target, which I regularly visit. read more

The only reason this store didn't get five stars was because.......they apparently missed a few items that were VERY STAINED before adding them to the racks. I've been in what I would call a Goodwill Boutique before (nicer things, less inventory, definitely not stained clothes) and this one is excellent except for that minor flaw ~ just need to remind those who are in charge of the inventory to double check next time (yes there were quite a few clothing items)! I have a service dog and they were very good about not trying to interact with him (a common theme in places we go) and making sure we were taken care of if we needed anything. This will be my once a week trip from now on. read more
