My next door neighbor alerted to me this place and I'm so glad. I picked up four dining chairs (sometimes they are priced as a package deal with a table, but these were actually priced individually and separate from the table). I thought about getting some sort of lounge or easy chair to read in but I haven't converted to Maine vehicle yet, so my Mazda wouldn't fit it. Next time! A gorgeous coffee table also caught my eye, so that item was also purchased. I had to make two trips, but hey-ho. I think prices are great. Obviously, you're getting used items but isn't there something really charming about having furniture that has been lovingly used? (As long as it doesn't smell like a dirty fart) You could go the route of IKEA and I have totally done so on occasion, but let's admit it, most of that crap is crap. Old used furniture was made with love. I can imagine that prices may have climbed in the past few years, though I only have Chicago Salvation Armies to compare it to, and I think the prices are still better here than Chicago five years ago. Stuff probably comes and goes fairly regularly so don't feel defeated on an initial visit. I will definitely venture back here.

Get what you need/ like/ want quick and don't piss off the regulars that go there to hunt for brand names and re sell... don't take anything out of carts you see standing around... and have fun!! Then we moved south for several years, and now we are back in Maine.Apparently the store has run into tougher times lately. There seems to be a fair selection of merchandise under housewares and women's and children's clothing, but if you need clothing for men, don't bother. No shirts to speak of, no shorts, and for pants all they had were two racks of dress pants. Well, I am retired now and dress pants are behind me, especially for $6 each. They were not accepting donations when I was there, so I guess that explains the lack of men's clothing. Perhaps the pandemic has crippled their staff numbers after years of getting all the help they needed. We found a few items in the houseware section, but I am not sure it will be worth a trip back anytime soon.

Vivaldi's 'Winter' plays in my head as I step inside and the Russian Nutcracker dolls stare a warm blankness of welcome back at me - and I begin to observe things more closely as I go - to the end of the rainbow. Norwegian cup sets and German decorative plates are set up in front of flowing paintings of cherry blossoms, oils of creepy kids and alternative art canvases and it darn near broke my heart to leave the French prints behind. Look up to see candelabras and left to see a antique ice bucket - all of this I adore. Manual hand mixers and beaters next to flour and sugar silos, enamel coffee pots and Pyrex tanned glass crockery. My arms were filling up so I bought two bags and went hither and tither and placed two egg cups inside and a Ralph Lauren roll-up mat with pillow. Between the hand blown blue and green glass galore the large pewter population, frosted glass of polar bears and Mickey Mouse - I had to have it all, but I live on the road and I shant - much to my sadness my rainbow was shortened on this day.

Walked out with some fantastic additions to my wardrobe. Racks upon racks to peruse. Everything seemed to be organized by color and type (even the housewares section!). By size would have been ideal as well but I guess finding something that draws your eye is made that much more exciting when you find it is your size as well. I went with the intent of just browsing but left with several new pairs of workout leggings and a dress for that evening. The dress (pictured) cost only $4.50!!! What!! The staff were very helpful and they seemed to have plenty of hands on deck for the sale. People manning the changing area and working the registers kept the flow of patrons moving. The rows between the racks were a bit narrow but people were generally accommodating and made room for each other. With some time and patience, you can score some bargains here. Lots of brand names. They had your usual vintage clothes and shoes but they also had everything from MTV Raps cards to every little accessory you could think of. Everything is neatly organized by size and color, which made browsing so easy and honestly so enjoyable. I really appreciated how intentional the layout felt. And then the second room... not only do they have 3 dressing rooms but HELLO NOSTALGIA. They have a TV and a Super Nintendo setup where you can literally play Super Mario in between shopping. 10 STARS. I swear shopping here healed a tiny part of my inner child.
