Went a few days with a few people and was able to find dress shirts, cool one of a kind artwork and antique earrings. I'm a big fan of antiques and refurbished furniture, so I tend to make the trip down toward Kalona a few times a year when the weather gets nice. When this spot popped up (last year, I think) I was super excited because it's right across the street from Kalona Brewing Company which makes it easy to fit into a typical trip. Even though a lot of the shops in town are a little more traditional, The Shop stands out because they have a nice mix of old and new items, and a lot of their furniture has been refinished or repainted to fit in with a more modern decor without the elbow grease a take-home project requires. I've purchased several things here - from signage, to dried flowers to small furniture - and I've been pleased with each purchase.
