It is a joke, a customer in line have a cart piled with 100plus items and they would not open another register

Thrift & Thrive

Thrift & Thrive is the new, larger thrift store run by the nonprofit Domestic Abuse Project of…read moreDelaware County. They previously ran Nana's Attic in Broomall (now closed). I stopped by a few days ago to check out their new store. It's significantly bigger than Nana's Attic, which means it feels far less cramped. Yay! Still very good prices, the "yellow tag" items are consignment and generally higher priced than the store's donated stock. It about killed my soul to see an awesome vintage salt & pepper mixed in with newer dishes in a consignment lot. Aaah! Staff are great, the store is clean and bright. I'll definitely be back. Note: angled parking in front of the building is NOT free, Pontiac is a public street, and those are pay at kiosk metered spots.

I do not recommend going here. Thrift and Thrive has lost my business after 10+ years…read more As previously stated, I have been a customer for over ten years. I have been a customer at this store since it was called Nana's Attic. Today I was there, looking for furniture. The selection was a bit overpriced for the quality. Suddenly, I needed to use the restroom. The woman working informed me that they did not have a public restroom and that I could go to the Dollar Tree next door. The Dollar Tree did not have a usable restroom. I returned to thrift and thrive because, quite frankly, I was literally about to pee myself. I begged to use the employee bathroom. The employees lied to my face and said that there was no bathroom in the entire store. Yeah right, if that's true, then that's a worker's rights violation, and they would not be in business. I explained that I was having an emergency and they did not care. It really stinks to be a loyal patron of a store, then to be treated so poorly in return. Particularly during a vulnerable moment. There are plenty of better thrift stores in the area with better prices AND customer bathrooms. It's a shame that a store that has such a great mission doesn't provide a great shopping experience.

This Goodwill is huuuge!…read more Even on a busy Sunday, staff here are pleasant to interact with. (Considering that customers are rushing for deals & some leave behind hangers &/ or a mess). I had a lovely convo with Ms. LS & Danielle. Sunday is when their 1 out of 2 tagged color sale change and when it's $1. There is no upper price limit for when items become $1. There are a total of 5 colors: red, yellow, green, blue, & purple. There are occasional holiday colors ie orange for Halloween. (Sunday warning: expect lines to be long... possibly 10min wait & lots of regulars/ customers on this day. I highly encourage taking clothes off their hangers while you're in line to speed things up. Also expect a long line 15 mins before Goodwill opens on Sundays.) Otherwise, 2 colors are 50% rest of the week and ends on Saturday. Sunday is a new 2-tag color sale cycle. Ie: last week was green and blue This Sunday is: red and blue, where green is changed to red. Blue is consistent for 2 weeks. They also have an IG you can follow if you want to know the colors of the week the week of before going to the store. IG: @goodwillnj (The name... I know, even though it's in PA haha, but it's part of the NJ section.) Items are organized by category, and I'm not sure if by size later, but not by color. Prices seem to be generally standardized within category with some deviations from the normal... please see pics. I believe. Will update next time with more accurate observation. It is located in the huuuge Whitman Plaza reachable by the buses 47/57 & there's a free huge parking lot. So if you're hungry from shopping, there's an AYCE KPot Hotpot & Korean BBQ restaurant franchise nearby. Would most definitely visit again :) Prob the best Goodwill experience I had in Philly so far!

Super busy store and shopping center and chaotic, but I have found a ton of good stuff.read more
