I'm shocked by the bad reviews this store has gotten. We stayed nearby during the pandemic while our county was still in red, and this one was in green. This allowed us to actually go to stores, which I desperately was in need of after a depressing 3 month stay at home only stepping out for necessities.
Just because they're open doesn't mean COVID isn't still lurking around and in the back of everyone's mind. I for one take this very seriously and really appreciate when a retailer does as well. This store earned high marks with me.
The store is small, located in a strip mall, with a antique mall next door. The outside is pretty typical of any Goodwill, however step inside and you immediately notice the difference. It's bright, organized very well, and exceptionally clean. While the bathroom was off limits to customers they did allow their dressing rooms to be open. There was separate area for clean, sanitized carts, as well as one for those yet to be sanitized.
The quality was good as well, with many items new with tags. Prices were in line with other GW's but here their sorting process was supreme. I didn't spot anything damaged, with stains, or tears. Even the shoe department, which was small and consisted of one small rack, only had very gently used inventory. The employees kept to themselves cleaning but were friendly when approached. The few other patrons practiced social distancing. Masks were required per the sign but not enforced.
I spent a good bit of money that day but got lots of items, some things I'd been searching for for months. Because they had just recently opened there weren't any specials in effect. It's a Goodwill I would definitely go to again if I'm in the area. read more
