There's been a lot of talk about Trosa Thrift store around town lately. I've seen it all over…read moresocial media so a friend and I decided to check it out on a Friday afternoon. Trosa is located on Peters Creek Hwy in the Food Lion strip center at the Clemmonsville exit. It's easy to get to and there's plenty of parking which I love. Right inside the door is their whole furniture section, they have tons of tables, chairs, dressers , etc. they even have a whole section of office specific furniture. The prices are very reasonable. This would be a furniture flippers paradise. Towards the back they have shelves of everything from pillows to whole sets of dishes, sports equipment and the most medical mobility equipment I've ever seen anywhere. I'd say, if you are in need of a walker, a bath seat or portable toilet for someone look here because they probably have it at a fraction of the cost it would be to purchase new or rent. The clothing is grouped all together but they aren't keeping it organized as well as it needs to be. All different sizes were mixed in together and I quickly got frustrated and gave up. Both of us had found an item in the kitchen area we wanted so we headed to check out. The workers were very friendly as well. I'll definitely be checking out Trosa regularly in the future. Trosa supports substance abuse treatment. If you want to donate to them, they offer pick up for larger items or you can bring your items to their donation drop off around the back of the store. Just follow the signs.

I love going to this thrift store because of their large display of used clothes, it is clean,…read moreorganized and wide isles in between displays to allow easy use of shopping carts without restricting other shoppers. But some women still find a way to park their shopping cart right next to the display, she got mad at me for moving her cart. Excellent variety of used clothes for all ages. Lately somewhere in the last quarter of 2025, there was a clean up and the variety of clothes they carry seems to change, I no longer find the kind of clothes I look for, these at natural fiber fabrics especially wool and linen clothings which were abundant before. I don't know if they had a geographical change of where they source their used clothes or a change in supplier? I still go there to look at what's available although my visits have decreased since the change I mentioned. I still highly recommend this place to my coworkers and friends who are into thrifting. It's a good way to be better dressed at significantly lower cost.

They are very dishonest just downright crooks! When they sell something for you, they will say that they did not that it was stolen or some kind of Lame excuse. For them not to pay you. For instance, a CD right that was my mother's that my uncle made I had it down there. I went to retrieve it today and the lady said that it was hers that she had bought it but they didn't pay me for it so who did they pay. Anyway, I did not get it and I'll do not recommend this place for anything ! They also have a building on the end that they rent out. It's a neat little art shop the Purple Bench. The owner told me a while back to be aware of those two ladies in the consignment shop now I can see why. I do hope that karma comes around and kicks both of them in their butts two times because they got me for a lot of stuff.

Front staff can be very rude as if you're taking up their time…read more My partner and I walked in one afternoon (20 minutes before closing to be exact) and the woman at the counter said, "If you want something you'll need to make it quick because we're closing. So we looked at the woman, then at each other and simultaneously walked out the door. I understand the concept of wanting to leave on time, but that's never the way to treat a customer. I know personally if I feel rushed, I'm not going to buy anything. Customer service is an important part of any business and if that fails, everything else will too. Hopefully they'll work on improving theirs, but either way I won't be returning.

Prices are reasonable, staff is very friendly and helpful. I've had them arrange delivery for me and get a giant table in my tiny car! They recently remodeled and I hope they keep the same vibe of before, I've already noticed with the heavier traffic some higher prices. I don't care who you are or how old you are or how bad your day was, you do not yell at customers like that... i could not comprehend what happened after I walked out. it's insane to talk to people like that.

It has…read morea great selection of items for women and babies, including baby toys, strollers and other cool things. It's a very quiet laid back atmosphere with a very welcoming and friendly staff. The prices are very reasonable and go towards the non profit The Parenting Path. They also have a great selection of kids books and are all free. You can also donate at checkout by rounding up or giving the option of $1, $2, or $3 donation. This is a great thrift store for the budget conscious.
