I love going to this store , you can find just about anything you're looking for at great prices .read more

I find this store kinda like a "junk" store. There are a lot of different items in here. Clothes,…read morefood/snacks, beauty stuff, furniture, outdoor things, carpets, pet stuff, makeup, outdoor items, patio furniture, shoes, etc. Some areas are just so messy (like their clothing area) that I had no interest in going into. I did find a lot of stuff way over priced for a junk store. I would think that this is a store that should be selling these products for a lot less. I did find a couple good deals & enjoyed looking at some of the stuff that they had. I don't like how they have a lot of beauty health items in the boxes that they were delivered in vs out on the shelves to be able to see them better. Their hair products are way over priced & I also found a few items with no prices on them. What else was very disappointing was to find Easter, V-day & Christmas items in here selling @ full price. No discounts for being past the holidays? I saw some decorate X-mas cookies but they expire in 09/2026. Like why sell this at full price? It won't be good in Dec. 2026. They have a table with shoes on it all over the place so you actually have to pick them up to see what size they were. Lots of dog & cat stuff but way over priced. There are no shopping carts inside the store & I had to ask a customer who had one outside where they were located. They have them outside kinda hidden & very few of them available. The store is very crowded with lots of stuff/junk. John our cashier was exceptional! He was very patient in checking prices on a couple of items that had no price tags on it. It seemed that everyone else wanted to check out when my Mom & I were there so he had to call for backup which came right away. This definitely isn't a store that I would visit when I'm in town on each trip but maybe once a year.

I don't know how to describe Ocean State Job Lot, it defies a retail category…read more It's part Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Dick's Sporting Goods and Dollar Store. Whether you're looking for an outdoor grill, decorative area carpets, camping supplies, pots & pans you'll not only find it here- mixed in with rando beauty supplies like last season's OPI colors to interesting hair clips. Two aisles over, an array of better-than-basic spices and a collection of chutneys that called to us for Thanksgiving Day leftovers. It's all about the goods with little attention to merchandising. Store managers were very personable and pointed us to whatever we threw at them. I wanted to stump them and ask if they carried aquariums, lawnmowers or a garden till but I bet they do -somewhere in this cavernous store. OSJL has over 135 stores mostly concentrated in the New England area. Most impressively, they actively fundraise for their community including matching customer donations dollar-for-dollar up to $500,000 to raise money for St. Vincent de Paul food bank. In addition to the half million they donate to their community food bank, they also handle all the administrative costs and delivery. Such generosity, especially during these tough times, warms my heart; I'm glad to shop OSJL and support their efforts.
