I love finding a great Goodwill and this qualifies as one in my book! If you go to check it out, keep in mind that every day is a little bit different at this place, but I hope you have as good an experience as I did. This place is huge. It's very well organized by gender and section, and has a large selection of books at the back wall. I went here recently with a friend and spent about a good hour perusing the women's shirts, from short sleeved to button downs and sweaters. I also spent a little time browsing the special price rack (with tons of retail surplus clothing at a little more expensive than regular goodwill pricing - still a fraction of the original price in a store). In the end I found a few books and a name brand sweater with tags on that I took home. Our cashier was super friendly and made checkout wuick and a breeze. Goodwill - Thrift Stores Near Me - Nicholasville, Kentucky

I'm a shopper/consumer of a dying breed these days; one that still often frequents stores in person, as a walk in, leisurely and eager to spend. I don't have many complaints usually about the modern world's consumer trade market, nor the wholesale or retail system by which any company operates, HOWEVER, Goodwill Industries, you're out of control and I sense, dare I say, some greed ticketed on your whole stock and I've observed this trend across the board at Goodwill stores. I've been shopping and donating to Goodwill across the whole state of Kentucky since I was old enough to remember. I even pulled a short time, temp gig working there a few years back during a peak season. I know the stores, and I'm familiar with the pricing applications. To say they've changed would be an understatevent. I first thought to hold my tongue about the issue in hopes it was just a temporary crisis resolution, supply and demand and inflation taking its toll. Teas not the case. I have been disgusted with the prices and OVER-pricing of Goodwill stores across Lexington at least for almost a year now. There's no consistency across the local store board either. I can go into Goodwill and expect a ticketed item to be priced the same or more than what a new item of the same type costs in a wholesale or smaller retail store or outlet. it's horrifying and it makes loyal donating partners like myself want to opt out and think "Salvation Army," or worse, PLATOS CLOSET, just based on principle. I used to love Goodwill. I could go in and browse articles that may still be fuming with a 1989's afterglow of consignment legacy since being pulled out of someone's garage and packed tightly with hundreds more to go straight to a Goodwill bin and out to us, consumers. I still get excited by the wall aisle if that's even a consignment shelf because the eclectic variety of stationary and/or outdated nostalgic office and even hardware practicalities still remains on their last visible renewable resource as far as I'm concerned because if they keep up the price gouging on clothing and other apparel, they'll be shutting down the so called "Not for profit" company and seeking attorneys instead of marketable equipment to pose as the platform for showing and hanging said apparel. I say THAT because they barely even use indistry racks and shelves for display, and even hangers, DONATED. They still have the "Color days" discounting items ticketed by said color" but where you used to be able to negotiate on some negligible items, you're trying to talk the clerk into letting you switch it as part of a pair of something similar just to suit YOU, since again, Goodwioo is historically flexible and let's not forget, USED item retail. I used to ask for one store to hold something a day or so, no problem, I mean what's the risi, now it's layaway or bust, and they don't even offer to call a sister store when they're a no show on something specific. I can't even find useless scrap material in house without paying double digits in stores, NO SHE!!!!?!? I need Goodwioo to lend a hand to me and the rest of the "Good ole day" boomers of second hand access.... it's imperative to preserving a legacy in America as much as say, Keeping the price of Girl Scout Cookies to a minimum, which I'll get to in a different review... So FINGERS CROSSED AND BELL RINGING AT SALVATION ARMY WITH A PLEASE COME BACK GOODWILL SALUTATION. You're embarrassing yourself GW, and friends don't let friends overcharge and over value and withhold from those in need when the USED nature of the NOT so sanitary apparel is negligible and free to store AS IS. I had some time to kill before a movie on Saturday so I stopped in at Goodwill to take a look around. This Goodwill is fairly large and clean. The employees do a good job of keeping things orderly. They have a great deal of clothes and shoes but not a wide variety of the other items that you usually find at other Goodwill stores. I didn't spend very long browsing, but I did find a paperback copy of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn for 50 cents. read more

Even though I typically never have luck at Goodwill, this one is by far the cleanest of Lexington and Nicholasville. It's large and nicely organized, or as organized as you can make these stores. We were on a hunt Saturday to find some deals to help supply our camper we bought. I honestly don't have the patience to sort through clothes at any of these so I typically don't look there. You can sometimes find appliances and furniture that you can reuse. read more

This is the best Goodwill in the area. It has a wide selection and is kept very organized. You never know what this place will have. One I found some really cool shiny shoes that I planned to wear specifically for dance parties but then it turned out they were too big. read more
