Like all donation centers they will give you paperwork for tax wrote offs if you choose. I usually pass on that and just drop it off and get out. There are several locations, and this one is located in the Hamburg area near Tractor Supply as a landmark. The drop off is on the right hand side of the building and can pull up and employees will collect the donated goods. They have signage directing where to enter the single drop off lane. There are also posted signs listing what can and cannot be donated. Staff are polite and helpful. I have not been inside the building or made a purchase to this point, so I cannot comment on that aspect of this business. I do know that the mission statement has been to sell donated items and then to utilize those funds to assist victims of abuse, which has our support 100%. (Side note: I also choose to donate here rather than at another specific well known charitable drop-off site which has high prices and high administrative costs, resulting in less funds going to the people it claims to serve.)

DFSL is available to anyone identifying as female and provides a free styling and outfit that can be used during an interview process. Once a job is secured, she can come in and select five more outfits from head to toe. Suiting and programming is available to all women, regardless of financial need. For those wanting to volunteer, the team can set you up with a variety of projects. No need to attend advance training. Men and women welcome! Sales also occur when the boutique is populated with clothing not quite right for the boutique. Come and support. Mobile units travel to areas of Kentucky to support women that aren't near Louisville. I was very impressed to discover that Dress for Success is a non-profit that helps unemployed women with not only job skills but also provides a beautiful, curated wardrobe to wear on their interview and later after they have secured employment. Dress for Success works on a referral basis. They provide an outfit including jewelry, shoes and accessories so that confidence in their appearance is not something these ladies have to worry about. Once a client lands a job they can come back and pick out FIVE - yes FIVE - complete outfits. You can tell from the pics that the shop looks like a high end boutique. It is beautifully laid out and stocked with current styles in like-new condition. Dress for Success accepts like new clothes and shoes one Saturday each month. You can like and follow them on Facebook to find out when you can donate. This place makes my heart happy. I cannot imagine trying to get into the workforce without the proper tools. Dress for Success is one of the best utilized programs I have seen in ages. When clients come in there is a personal shopper to help them coordinate a look suitable for the job they are seeking. I was so impressed. Dress for Success is such a game changer. The offer career counseling, help preparing resume's and so much more. I am so happy to have found them and hope to help spread the work about the vital work they do for our community.
