They have a superb selection of the things from books to music on several formats, more books, pins, magnets, stickers, and ephemera. I love ephemera. I really love the chance to buy something that wasn't mass produced or to give something a new life. I feel like this is a great way to have a fresh style (or your one from high school) or be a little unique. It kills me that you can buy similar shirts at the big box store and have no idea what it's about which tells me I'm old. Also the lighting in there is not oppressive. Why do people love to be under interrogation lights all the time? Fat Rabbit also features local artist cards/postcards which are a big part of my life. I am glad to have found post cards that do not require a mortgage on my least favorite nephew (or the naming rights on his first child). Most of all the people who work there are friendly.

With that I am noticing an uptick in pricing and some decor feels out of alignment now, making it too close to retail pricing for me to take it home. We always find a few things at Re-Tail and it continues to be one of our favorite thrift shops to visit. Service is friendly and welcoming, and we love the rewards program implemented. I am all about thrift shops, especially one whose proceeds go to the Animal Care Society, a non-kill/non-profit organization that gives second chances to Louisville animals in need. I wish that I had known about this wonderful shop when we adopted a puppy last year. There are so many items for pets in the shop, and most look brand new. We could have obtained our pup's collar, harness, food/water bowls, leash, and cute sweater here for less than half of what we paid retail!! In addition to pet-related items, there are household items, home decor items, linens, toys, books, clothing, shoes, jewelry, and much more. I'm certain that there would be new treasures to see with each visit due to continuing donations. The shop is clean, odor-free and well-organized. The lady who checked us out was so very kind and told us about their program that allows for a $5 off coupon after a certain amount of purchases. This thrift shop is a hidden gem and I will be donating my items here from now on, so that I can support the animals, and I know that I will be a frequent flyer perusing the goods for that item that I didn't know I needed!

There are several locations, and this one is located in the Hamburg area near Tractor Supply as a landmark. The drop off is on the right hand side of the building and can pull up and employees will collect the donated goods. They have signage directing where to enter the single drop off lane. There are also posted signs listing what can and cannot be donated. Staff are polite and helpful. I have not been inside the building or made a purchase to this point, so I cannot comment on that aspect of this business. I do know that the mission statement has been to sell donated items and then to utilize those funds to assist victims of abuse, which has our support 100%. (Side note: I also choose to donate here rather than at another specific well known charitable drop-off site which has high prices and high administrative costs, resulting in less funds going to the people it claims to serve.)
