As my other Goodwill reviews note, I frequent these stores for the books. In this regard, I am hard pressed to give a poor review to any store. Goodwills generally offer a pretty nice selection of cheap books at all of their store's. Their store on Pioneer Parkway in Peoria is no exception. They have a large, well-sorted (though not well situated) selection of cheap used books. For this, I can go no lower than 3 stars. However, there are a few cons: 1) The lighting is very bright and harsh. I actually found myself squinting a few times as the light bounced off the white page of the book I was flipping through. 2) The radio blares, loudly. Yesterday, I actually jumped a little when the station switched songs rapidly and Richie Valens started bellowing, "La Bamba." This was further exacerbated when the chipper lady stacking Billy Graham books into her cart squealed loudly and started singing along. 3) (Reference picture I uploaded of the store's book section). Like most of the other stores in the area, the book section is placed right in the middle of a highly trafficked area. The carts stream up the main aisle to the popular knickknack section. Some of these carts move back to the main aisle when they are done. However, most make a big loop, which takes them through the book section. The aisles in the book section are just wide enough for a cart. If you are browsing the books and a cart comes (and they do frequently) you will have to move. Also, for whatever reason, many of the carts that supplant you, often stop and begin browsing the exact section you had to move from. It can become grating. When shopping at this Goodwill, bring earplugs and a couple of extra doses of patience, you will need them. read more

Great selection of things. But very overpriced for a thrift. $14.99 for used shoes. Ummmm no thank you. Besides it being overpriced the layout and organization is great. read more

As far as Goodwills go, this location compared to others that I've been to is excellent! Clean, spacious, well organized & reasonably priced - I will definitely come back here. read more

I go to thrift stores to book hunt. The books were sorted by topic, which is nice. The selection was ok, not great.

This is the very best of the Goodwill stores in the entire Peoria-Pekin area. I have found nearly new men's shirts and slacks. The clothing is always clean and in perfect condition. I have also purchased some very nice things in their Goodwill Boutique. This little nook in their store is amazing. Some of their items look like department store merchandise - brand new. I a have also bought a few dishes from this store too. I appreciate the lighting to enable me to see the merchandise I am selecting. This is truly a great store. The prices are very reasonable especially considering Goodwill's Mission to help the Veterans and their free training to help us in our community. I frequently choose to "round-up" to help the Veteran's groups in our area. read more

I took 4 boxes of clothes there yesterday. When I got home my husband said he was missing his jacket. We decided it had been on the bench where I piled the clothes to go and I had accidentally included his favorite jacket. We went immediately back to the store. They refused to let us look in my boxes which were around the corner in an "employees only" area. They insisted we describe it then came back and said all the clothes were already gone. 30 minutes later in their huge warehouse room. I just find that really hard to believe in that limited time frame. They were completely uncooperative after my big donation. That will be my last donation to this organization.
