They have a bookstore called Second Story, which is excellent . Except for the loud blasting music it was great! Lots and lots of books divided into biographies, non-fiction, fiction, children's books, etc. They even have a couple of chairs where you could sit down and their Christmas tree was all made of books. I found this place on yelp. I love thrifting so decided to give this place a try. There was plenty of parking. They sell things by the pound. You get a roll bin with a bag inside for your stuff. You really have to dig for things but if you find something you score. I was able to find some leggings , 2 shirts, my don found some swim shorts, 2 shirts, a Christmas decoration, and a unique panthers hat for $20. Everything was in excellent condition. I washed it and there were no issues with the clothes. I had a great experience and you won't beat the prices anywhere. read more

The business name of this Goodwill is slightly deceiving because it is most definitely not your average Goodwill store. This is a Clearance Center and is quite frankly absolute chaos in comparison to typical Goodwill locations. Still 5 stars because it is what it is and you can certainly find a diamond in the rough, just make sure you know what you're getting into. For starters, the items are not individually priced or sorted in any way. There may be a bin that is mainly shoes, or bedding, etc but it rarely appears organized. Instead everything is piled into huge bins and containers that people literally dig through. It's not uncommon to see shoppers wearing plastic gloves and face masks because let's be honest, some of the stuff that makes it out for sale here is just plain dirty. Unlike other Goodwills with quality control, this place will put out broken, missing pieces, or even random totally useless parts. The shopping carts are more like rolling trash cans, complete with a plastic liner in them, that you simply fill up with whatever you want and then wheel it up onto a scale to be weighed. Most all of the items are sold by the pound. If you have never been in a Goodwill clearance outlet when they wheel out a newly loaded bin then your first trip may be a shock. Basically the big bins come out covered (sometimes with a tarp, other times orange cones) and the staff has everybody clear the way to put it in the aisle. People tend to crowd around and wait to grab what they want. Almost like a shotgun start at a relay race, when the staff releases the items people absolutely pounce and grab what seems like anything and everything they can get their hands on. Basically a lot of people use the method of grabbing everything in arms reach then sorting through it and putting back what they don't actually want. It gets crazy! Like all other Goodwill locations this one does have a public restroom which is important to note because you're going to want to wash your hands before you leave! read more

Very chaotic, atmosphere and rude employees, they yell at ppl all the time for almost everything except they don't notice when certain regulars hoard their overflowing shopping carts by covering them with sheets and pushing them to a corner then going to retrieve a new one to begin the whole process again. The carts are in short demand and some are barely usable as the wheels are shot out and won't roll.. if new ppl come and aren't sure how things work certain employees will mock you and look at the regulars and roll their eyes and let out exaggerated sighs as if you are a nuisance. One time the employee yelled at me and made me feel stupid for not knowing the checkout procedure. The bins are not in any kind of order whatsoever. The hard goods are mixed in with junk, clothing household goods etc and most of the bins are just very deep cardboard boxes on pallets called Gaylords that you can barely reach into. Most all clothing and shoes are inside of these Gaylords. The regulars make it to where new customers can't even begin to look through them until they (and all their friends) are done sifting through them all. Basically if you don't go daily or weekly you will never earn the privilege to go through the bins until the masses are no longer interested in the ones they have picked through. If this sounds like fun to you then knock yourself out, lol but be sure to bring gloves and take great care while digging as frequently you will come across broken glass and dishes and other sharp dangers.. I'd much rather pay a few more dollars and go to the retail stores. read more

I'm from Asheville where ppl wait for bins to come out push shove and get into fights ppl take stuff from others buggies, eBay and other sellers of online greed ppl stay for hours on end piling-the buggies full day after day week after week same faces so when I came into this store since I'm a goodwill adventure wizard of oz purse nut seeker I was amazed . I even told the cashier which was also friendly and spoke told me about the 50 % off days and come back to enjoy those sales wow I didn't seem to be in her way unlike at Patton the home town GW lol where the workers hate their jobs fuss about customers begin their in front of customers and every time you go in its new workers that place is chaos this center was very nice even with few hours til closing time I was very impressed I sure wish I lived closer it was nice and I will be back thank you for the pleasant experience Goodwill of SC this center is amazing... A company that all I can take it from there nothing more I worked for goodwill in Irmo sc for three years and was a production supervisor for 2 years. Then was laid off in April of this year due to low revenue and the cov19 and still on lay-off. According to the company I have no position that I had and that i will have to start over a gain as a new hire but I am reminded. That the lord will make a way like he always do and that when higher up so wrong it will come back to hunt them. Rather the covo19 was the truth or not. This Goodwill is a little different from your "average" Goodwill. First off, it's like an adventure to be here. And while that can be said about many Goodwills, unlike those other Goodwill locations, you could very much get buried alive below piles of clothes here. It's brightly lit, with rows of huge fishery-sized containers with clothes, trinkets, books, etc. Not many housewares are here, so you wouldn't come here to decorate your house. What will you see? What will the children haphazardly throw around the aisles beneath your feet? What treasure is buried amongst hundreds of pounds of junk? What weird books from the 1960s are there to uncover? If you are curious to find out the answers to any of these questions, you can do so here. The friend that I went here with told me that this is the place you go for cosplay solutions or a prop needed for a costumed party. I agree with that, emphatically. While I didn't get clothes, I noticed the cheap prices of water guns could easily turn a prop-maker a profit. I think it was something like a quarter for several that were in NICE condition. I did end up getting books. They weigh those by the pound, and charge you based off of that. I think I got three books for about 0.45. One was a really neat, stylized "spooky" children's book from the 80's. PROS: Cheap prices. Like, insanely cheap. That is enough to make me come back, when I'm in town. On top of low prices, you'll get additional deals on certain days and on weekends. This is a great place for a last minute costume or prop idea. You could easily get some props and make a profit by sprucing them up (Steampunk? Prop weapon?) CONS: Children running around, screaming and unchecked by parents too intent on scoring a deal. Complete lack of organization. You'll find jackets thrown in a pile with scarves and pants. These are the reject clothes, the ones that the other Goodwill's didn't sell, so many of them have missing buttons, loose threads, etc. Just be careful when inspecting. THE VERDICT: Disorganized, bright, and bursting with people and their children. There is so much random junk that I was sort of overwhelmed by the experience. Good luck finding anything specific here. You'll want to come here just for the odds and ends and final pieces for a costume or a random cheap object. Maybe you want a gray shirt, or a plastic toy gun. Come here, and you're bound to find something similar to what you're looking for. And soooo cheap, too. The 3 stars is for the total chaos that is coming here. You really have to dig for any and everything you could want. But despite that, I'll be back! read more

I am sorry people don't realize Goodwill is a franchise style business. They are very greedy and all about the dollar. What a business model,"Hey let's start a business where we convince people to give us free inventory, then we will sell it. We will hire socially challenged people, provide them with few benefits and pay them even less. File as not profit because we will inflate our officers income so much there will be hardly any taxable solutions. Yeah, and lets call it something with the word (Bureau in it, that makes every body think it's official), oh wait, the Better Business Bureau already did that. Dang. Let's call it Goodwill, yeah that'll fool them, no one will ever question our integrity with a name like that. This is the clearance store. Things that didn't sell in the others come here to be sold cheap. Very-very cheap. Some priced by the pound. It is not tidy nor is it sorted. It's all in bins and baskets. That's how a clearance store works. Disorganized and dysfunctional. There doesn't seem to be much of a sorting system at this dumpster-diving thrift shop, and most of the large containers are brimming full of old and broken junk. Even worse than the miscellaneous bins, the clothes bins are piled chest-high and just as unsorted. Occasionally, you can find one or two diamonds-in-the-rough, but it takes hours of scouring through unclean and sketchy looking tubs of what might as well be trash. All in all, it's not an experience I was expecting and not something I will remember fondly. read more
