If you are looking for wonderfully unusual gifts for yourself or others, The Red Vintage Door is…read morethe place to go! My daughter had been wanting to visit just to see what they had, and she had the time of her life! The owner was friendly, attentive, and shared local history about The Creature from the Black Lagoon, where the creator of the creature was born in El Paso. Highly recommended. We will be going back!

I absolutely love this place. Beyond The Red Door being your typical vintage shop, they also use…read morehalf the space as a gallery. Like them on Facebook because they occasionally take a piece of clothing or jewelry and update it. Those pieces go fast. Basically everything that's not clothing (purses, jewelry, records, I even saw a PacMan arcade game once) is right at the front. I'm always in this section too long, but I always find the coolest stuff. One of my favorite things I've found in this section so far is my super cute elephant necklace. Right next to this section is the clothing (and yes they have a small men's section). The clothing is pretty organized so its easy to find what your looking for. There's no point in going in great detail about this section because this is what you would expect from a vintage shop. And down the stairs is where you'll find the art. This portion is very open, but I was told they have plans for it. And pricing is really great here, but every time I seem to go in they're having a sale so I always feel like they're just handing it to me for pennies.

It has that smell. You know, that smell where you think to yourself, "This is where clothes come to…read moredie." But here you are to save the day and pick out some threads that will be re-purposed or simply thrown into a washing machine with a loving amount of Tide until the memories of being lost on a rack are washed away. It's a Salvation Army so no matter what, you can't be mad at it. But my frustration sometimes seeps into my visits here and makes me end them more abruptly than I originally intended. Not because the items...for lack of better word...suck, just because it tends to feel over-picked, like if I had just came the day before I would've found a treasure. When you walk in, you follow the yellow-ish, linoleum road. And upon it you will come across sweet, little ladies (sometimes men, but for this story, ladies) that will guide you on your adventure...although, you can get a lay of the land immediately upon entering. In the vast majority of TSA you will find clothing. Clothing of all sizes, colors and styles. You really do have to look through every single item to see if there is anything worth salvaging (which is where my frustration comes in). I would love if TSA would showcase some of their best items...even if it's not for you, it gives you hope. On front end of the store you'll find furniture and records and other do-dads. I've perused the records multiple times and the section doesn't appear to change out that often so options are limited. TSA could have a good scrub down and tweak a few things here and there, but if you have time to spare and really want to find that on shirt or material that's evaded you, TSA might be worth a look. And of course if you want to save a dollar or two (or ten), prices here are beyond reasonable.

Writing a review for a non profit ministry is a fools errand so I will just let the 5 stars speak…read morefor themselves. salvation Army practices what it preaches and it will always be the recipient of my disaster donations. Virtually every donated penny goes to provide services, with extremely little for "admin" unlike many others that pay their leaders 6 figure incomes, the army takes care of the needs of hurting people.
