It has a restroom and plenty of changing rooms with a solid selection of men's items. That's mainly all I look for in a Goodwill location. They had a great selection of shirts and casual pants. I will say that this location has pretty high prices for what they sell and it looks like our Goodwill number that we input doesn't work at this location. They had a fair selection of household goods as well. Staff here was friendly and there was plenty of parking with easy access to the streets.

They had a few aisles pretty thickly lined in toys, housewares, games, and even crafts. I found a $50 yard game for $12, some brand new craft items for a few dollars, and a few other odds and ends. This Goodwill is strangely part of the Cleveland group of stores, so their prices were slightly higher than other Akron area Goodwills. Employees were friendly, and I felt like the store was pretty busy compared to other local thrift stores. If I need some random housewares, I may be back, but their book selection was very underwhelming, and I couldn't find a single piece of clothing that I thought was a great deal or cool find.

Happy Trails Thrift Shop is one of my regular stops when I am out thrifting in the Akron area…read more Located on Merriman Road just South of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Happy Trails is a great place to shop. The shop has a nice variety of decor, knickknacks, kitchenware, jewelry, collectibles, art books and lots of other stuff; they do not carry clothes, shoes and similar items. The thrift shop benefits the Summit Humane Society, so they have a nice selection of pet supplies and toys. I enjoy Happy Trails for the collectibles and art items. Over the years I have gotten a number of interesting items, recently I picked up a small carved Asian wood panel and a small replica Samuri helmet. I have also picked up pans, collectible pins and a backpack from Happy Trails. You can never be sure what they will have for sale, but they always have an interesting selection. They also have some really good high-end items most of which are up front near the register; they also usually have some nice antiques or vintage items. Overall prices are very reasonable especially because of the quality of the items they are offering. If you are in the area a stop at Happy Trails Thrift is well worth your time, they always have some fun items and great selection. Plus it is great to help support the Humane Society either by donating or buying something at the store. The staff at the store are wonderful and very friendly.

I think it was a cinnamon scent, but both my husband and I noticed it immediately on entry, and within a minute or two, my throat was scratchy and felt tight. Someone with breathing issues or asthma would have a serious problem here. We had to leave. It's too bad, there seemed to be nice items to look at, and we like supporting locally owned businesses.

The furniture section is set up beautifully --it looks look a furniture showroom. The furniture quality is excellent and well priced. Instead of paying $800- 1000 for a new, fake wood, cheaply made kitchen/dining room table set with chairs, you pay a fraction of that price for real quality wood furniture. They also have couches, chairs, tables, lamps, cabinets and desks. I purchased a quality kitchen table with two leaves. Ellen helped me remove the leaves so I could see how the table worked and see the differences in size with and without each of the leaves. She answered my questions and helped me set up delivery. She was super helpful--thank you Ellen. The table arrived the following Monday. The two gentleman who delivered it were great (a big thank you to them). I've been to the store on several occasions and there are always new items coming into the store. They have a nice selection of used hard and softback books (adult, teen and children), kitchen utensils, brand name dishware and dish sets (Lennox), clothing (including shoes, hats, and coats), jewelry, framed artwork, holiday decorations, figurines, games and toys, and much more. In addition to the table, I've purchased several bracelets, an outdoor garden statue (I had seen it before on Amazon but the Amazon price was too high for me), books, and a dog trinket box. While this certainly falls into the thrift stores category, this location is a bit more of a…read moretraditional Habitat For Humanity. There's a very small section for home decor and housewares. Even a few golf clubs in a bin. Beyond that, it's a fairly even split between furniture and hardware/tools. If you're trying to build a house from the ground up, this is a great place to start for cheap. They have everything from wood and nails to finishing touches like paint and light fixtures. To be honest, I didn't even make it into building #2, marked "building materials" and with several doors leaning up against the outside. I imagine that's where you'd truly get your start. In all, this is really just the retail leg of the bigger picture of what Habitat does. It can be humbling to visit and learn that we don't need a full set of matching appliances or a Dwell magazine-worthy home to truly live life. It puts the basics back into perspective.
