This Goodwill doesn't work like others I have frequented. It doesn't seem have a color of the week and I don't know if they have senior discount day or military discount day or $.99 Monday. They do have very nice things and I have found some real bargains there. read more

Clothes are decently priced but hardware/furniture/home goods were almost double the price I expected them to be. Saw something nice, checked price tag, instantly put it back down. They are out of their minds charging $45 for a floor lamp, $200 for an old clock. Better off shopping at Habitat for Humanity Restore for those items. read more

I thought this was a great place to shop until today when my wife tried to return something that had been mismarked. She purchased a sealed box of toddler Legos for our two-year-old granddaughter, but when she opened the package at home, she found it contained Lincoln logs for a much older child. When she returned it, the manager angrily told her she would "just have to eat them." Now, my wife was not upset and is not the kind of person to be anything but courteous in a situation like this. If he had just said something like, "Sorry, we don't accept returns," it would have been okay. However, this kind of rude and aggressive behavior from any business person is unacceptable. read more

We've been bringing things to this location as we have been purging our storage unit and the staff here is very helpful and friendly. They lend a hand as you unload and they are jovial, which I find uplifting because I'm letting go of things that I used to be very fond of and their attitude makes it feel good somehow. They recently did some remodeling inside the store and it's well organized and clean. There are quite a few treasures to be found and things appear to turn over quickly so there are new items coming in all the time. It's a great place to pop some tags! read more

This is my favorite Goodwill in Asheville! Located on Mills Gap Road, just off of Hendersonville Road in South Asheville, this Goodwill is the most clean and organized in town for sure. This location is pretty large, and the layout is great and easy to sift through. Although they carry mostly used goods, they also always have some seasonal/holiday new goods for sale as well. I saw some really great brand new kids costumes there yesterday for a really great price. My favorite was the fly costume, I was sad it wasn't my size. Just as with any Goodwill, you'll definitely need to take time rummaging through the racks and racks and racks of clothing, dishes, books etc to find a treasure, but it's definitely in there. read more

This store is still going strong. Tons of stuff, from the new to the eclectic is still at this location. To see everything, you will need a good amount of time. Avoid Saturday afternoon. When fresh racks of clothing are brought out, consumers flock to them. These racks are either left in a general area, or at the end of aisles. Customers may check them out at any point. An employee with a rack came out and seemed angry when I spied it. She did the weirdest thing- she actually pulled the rack into the aisle with her, while saying something. Since my hearing is bad, I watched her face for body language. The employee did not like that. She did not like me coming into an aisle adjacent to hers to look at the clothing on "her" rack. Of course I knew that she was saying something negative. She got progressively louder and told me that I could not look at the fresh wares that she was putting out. I moved away from her. In South Carolina, employees give you time to look through these racks before they start to place the items on their certain racks. It does not greatly affect the system. People leave the ugly stuff alone, or they take an item and buy it. If a buyer changes their mind, a majority of buyers just leave it at the end of any rack, because that requires very little action on behalf of the buyer. Very few people would make an effort to place an item in the middle of a crowded rack. So, I am not sure what that mean employee's problem was. I hope I never know. That employee that I had to deal with is really rude. I told the manager, but for all I know, they could be best friends. Rudie wears her light brown hair in a ponytail and wears glasses. Avoid her, especially on a Saturday. Thoughts: I got a vintage pair of Coro clip on earrings. Elegance for three bucks. I bought a navy, sparkly Loft tee, but did not notice that a bit of bleach had ruined a small patch. A matching permanent marker took care of the problem. Rewash to make sure the ink set. I also bought a tee with a hole. The tee had an owl on it; who can return that?! I ordered Bondex from Amazon and hopefully solved the problem. The result is less noticeable than the hole. Stars remain the same, because I love llamas on T-shirts. And owls, too. read more

Hands down the best goodwill in town. Huge store with great parking, great location (for South Asheville), clean and organized. They have a HUGE selection of very nice clothing brands (J Crew, Gap, etc) and I use it for work clothes all the time. Their furniture and home good section is pretty big and diverse. The clothes, for the most part, are very organized and the aisles huge. Tons of foot ware, too! Some things- The dress/PJ section is a cluttered mess as they need to restructure that area. They also seem to always bee out of shopping carts. The line can be long depending on the time of day you go/how busy it is. I just feel like prices are really going up (why is used dish ware the same cost as buying new from Target? I'm trying to do the earth some good here!) read more

I just bought so much stuff from this goodwill and was charged an outrageous price!!! I thought it was a bit much but after eating I was heading home, (we love in another town) and I was charged double for every item! In otherwords she charged for each item then said 5 coats @ 3.00 each. Omgosh I don't have this kind of money to throw around. Now we have to go back to asheville tomorrow, out of our way completely to fix this. I pray they fix this. read more

I Have been here multiple times now and only come as a joke. I will NEVER buy anything from this location, whoever does the pricing I think has forgotten that this is a goodwill. Everything is WAY OVERPRICED and a lot of things cost more then they do brand new! Anyone who enjoys this store never has to check their bank account. This isn't a goodwill anymore, it's a fun place to go for rich people to just buy junk. A lot of people depend on goodwill and this goodwill has become unreliable and unsafe place to financially shop for those in need. I used to donate here, never again. This store is robbing people blind and I will make sure it doesn't last, as long as it takes. Also the staff being extremely rude doesn't help whatsoever. read more

WORST STORE EVER. Messy, dirty, strange pricing. Men's T-shirts are $1.50 And women's T-shirts are $4.50. Children's shoes $20! What on earth? No explanation. No available help and always a very long line to pay. Sizes mixed up. Lots of stained, damaged and broken merchandise. Unhelpful staff. Just a really, really poorly-run outfit. Goodwill should strip its name off it or shut it down. Disgrace to the organization. read more

Been going to this goodwill for years and the prices have been rapidly increasing the past few months. It's a donation based business and they have items priced at $400 and above! Everything in the store besides clothes is a higher price than any of the nearby goodwills. For instance a pet carrier that's $10 at any other one is $17 here but a table that might be $25 elsewhere is $400 here. Whoever the manager is making the prices needs to be fired. Every time I see something priced too high it sits until they lower the price. Not worth your time at all! read more

Consistently the worst Goodwill I've been in in the entire country. They usually have one slow person checking out and line is often 20 people long and can take up to 40 minutes. read more

While I do not have a problem with the inventory, the staff is lacking in simple customer service. I watched a woman get yelled at for removing some hangers at the register( trying to be helpful). While I get that this particular male sales associate prefers to remove his own hangers, he was unmercifully, loudly, cruel to this senior citizen. She was embarrassed and frustrated. Next in line was me. I waited in line with no one behind me, and simply stated that I realized he was the only employee there, and inquired as to their fitting room policy( which was not displayed at all). He berated me also very loudly, (yelling) over and over with his answer. I can respect a busy environment needing employees. I can never respect a business for hiring unhinged, angry folks. Especially men being verbally abusive to women in the senior population. read more
