We have had our roof loan through GoodLeap for a couple years now and until May, everything was fine. We have AutoPay setup because they offer a discount, but we had been paying the loan earlier (for 6 months) without AutoPay kicking in. We made a payment in May that cleared well before the AutoPay date and AutoPay still triggered. We called GoodLeap and asked that they reverse the payment but they seemed really against it... they wanted to put the payment towards June's instead, but we explained the extra payment was unexpected and we couldn't afford the money to be missing from our account for that long. They said they would refund it but it would take about 14 business days to go through. That was around May 15th. Around May 29th, I am stressed because the mortgage is about to take out and there's a lack of funds, so I called GoodLeap to check the status of the refund and they said it was processed on the 26th. I felt relief but took out a personal loan to ensure the bills would be paid on time. Yesterday, June 9th, I called GoodLeap again because the refund still hasn't hit our account and their reply was it would take 10-14 days after the 26th. We also have not been able to access our account online ever since this happened -- we have no way of seeing our statements or anything. read more

I believe that GoodLeap engages in predatory lending practices that disproportionately impact financially vulnerable seniors. After taking over my grandfather's finances, I discovered he had been paying over $200 per month on a solar loan. Upon further investigation, I found that door-to-door sales representatives convinced my grandparents--both in their 80s--to sign a $68,000 solar loan with a 25-year term on a mobile home. At the time: * My grandmother was actively battling dementia (she passed away shortly afterward) * My grandfather is visually and hearing impaired * The documents were signed on a tablet and sent to an email account neither of them knew how to access This loan provided no financial benefit. In fact, my grandfather--who lives on a fixed income--is now paying more for this loan than he would have paid for electricity. Based on the loan term, he would need to live well past 100 years old to pay it off. I filed a formal complaint with GoodLeap nearly three months ago, citing financial elder abuse. Since then: * Communication has been extremely limited * I have had to repeatedly follow up just to get responses * The only update provided is: "the investigation is still ongoing" * I was told that a single representative is solely responsible for handling these complaints * I was not provided with any management escalation path This lack of transparency and accountability is deeply concerning given the seriousness of the situation. We are now: * Filing a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General's Office * Consulting with an attorney regarding legal action If you or a family member have experienced something similar, I strongly encourage you to file a complaint with your state's Attorney General and document everything. read more

Avoid using this company for financing. They will rip you off and they have no morals at all. We gave work to a contractor for HVAC, and when we did the paperwork I made it clear that we were trying to sort our finances and needed a year. The contractor got us approved for a loan through Goodleap and said that we wouldn't have payments for a year and interest would start accumulating at the end of the year. Well that turned out to be bullshit because the loan accumulates interest that would have accumulated without any payments at the end of the year if it's not paid off in full. We had a loan at almost 12% interest and it would have accumulated 4,500 at the end of the year because as we had told the contractor, we couldn't afford it at the time. That was the first lie. When we refinanced the loan through a bank to avoid that interest accumulating, the payoff was higher than the loan itself. I guess they put a lien on the house and in order to discontinue the lien they charge $109 filing fee through the county. When I called the company they said it was a UCC-1 Filing but only 1 page long. The official county website said a UCC-1 Filing that was 1 page was only $99 so they pocketed $10 (It's not that big of a deal but still). Fuck these guys, predatory assholes. read more

Beware - if your AC needs replacing and they offer you Goodleap - RUN AWAY! Even if you pay in full and by terms, they place a lein against your house. This is not apparent in the contract unless you are a lawyer. They will harrass you even when you are paying and on time. 4 to 6 phone calls a day every month. They are the worst. read more

I had an extremely poor experience with this company due to prolonged mishandling of an account after the borrower passed away and I took over as estate executor handling this debt. Despite being notified of the borrower's death by phone and in writing, and later being provided official death certificates, the company failed to resolve the account or clearly explain its legal position. Probate was completed, no liable party was identified, no claim was perfected, and repeated requests for proof of claim or documentation were ignored. Over many months, I contacted the company more than 20 times by email, sent a certified letter, and made multiple phone calls seeking resolution. Instead of addressing the issue, the company continued collection-related activity, demanded payment from a non-borrower, and communicated through channels that were expressly not authorized. Even after legal written notice revoking consent to contact and prohibiting property visits, an agent was dispatched to the residence to leave materials. This caused unnecessary stress, particularly to an elderly surviving resident, and reflected a lack of internal coordination and respect for clear instructions. What is most concerning is the impression that this company is willing to operate right up to -- and potentially beyond -- legal boundaries, seemingly relying on arbitration provisions and consumer fatigue. The approach felt less like an effort to resolve a matter and more like a strategy of delay and pressure, daring the affected party to take formal legal action before the company would comply with basic civil obligations. At no point did the company provide documentation establishing liability or close the account. The experience was marked by poor communication, disregard of written notices, and an apparent unwillingness to act until forced. I would strongly caution others to document everything and not expect timely or good-faith resolution. read more

As another person wrote about the address, mine says they are based in Roseville California. I took out an interest-free loan, to be paid in one year. The loan was paid in full in six months, and then I received an additional bill for $95.00. I was then told I needed to call for the payoff quote on an interest-free loan, as this is a separate fee. This was not expressed anywhere in my contract, and they are unable to show the exact location of this statement in the paperwork. They waived the bill and then rescinded this, and resent the bill saying I owe the money. They have been deceptive in saying this is an interest-free loan and that paid in full means nothing unless you get a payoff quote. Make it make sense? Buyer, beware! Zero Stars! read more

GoodLeap prioritizes contractors over consumers. I used them for a roofing loan. Roofers installed new sheathing in the rain and caused a bunch of interior water damage. I promptly notified GoodLeap. A few days later they paid the roofer in full. I struggled to get the roofer to do more than paint over the damaged areas. They're aren't very motivated since they've been paid. This company made an already stressful situation even more difficult. After my house flooded, they were set up to provide me with a loan, offering quick access to funds I didn't have on hand. I was hopeful I could use their services and pay off the loan swiftly. Fast forward two months, and the loan was paid off, plus an additional $200 to cover unexpected costs. I received confirmation that both the loan and the $200 would be refunded to me. The loan was set up with auto withdrawals, as it was the only way they would approve the loan. Two weeks after confirming that my account was paid in full, they withdrew another payment. I called to inquire, and they explained that it was a mistake and promised to issue a refund. However, after four missed deadlines to return my money, I had to escalate the issue to the Better Business Bureau to get my refund. read more

I established a rapport with Goodleap in march 2025 to finance a roofing job on my primary residence. The dollar amount was $20,974. I elected to pay off the loan well inside the 12 months interest grace period (9 months early). When the first payment was "due", i was contacted by goodleap that i still owed $39. I informed them i paid off the loan very early and my balance was $0. They told me there is a UCC filing fee that i must pay. No where in the contract does it state how much this fee actually is, it merely states they may file a UCC on the account. This is ambiguous and shady at best. By all accounts, the "fee" could've been $5000 and I'd have to pay it. I suppose I should be thankful the fee is only $39 dollars but again, the dollar amount for the fee is not made mention. Pretty sad a company can't waive a fee for a customer who paid off $21K 9 months early. I'd never use this company again and i hope they sink. read more

They apparently sold my phone number because now every day I get spam calls from other lenders. They send their bill two days before it's due and then call and complain that I'm late sending my check. I finally paid them all off with one lump sum last week and they just sent me a new bill (and yes, the check was cashed). What a terrible scam company. read more

Loan terms were laid out in a way where it was easy to confuse the "First Payment Date" as the date in which the loan needs to be paid off to avoid compounded interest charges. The full balance of the original loan amount was paid well before the "First Payment Date", only for us the find out that we are still being charged the compounded interest of $6013.71 because we paid it after the "Promotional Period End Date". If our intent was to take extra time to pay off the loan while accepting the compounded interest, it would make absolutely no sense for us to pay the balance in full. I've taken out several of these types of loans in my life and everytime the lender would include very clear and explicit verbiage stating something to the extent of "If balance in full is not paid by XXXX date, then compounded interest will be added to the balance." Goodleap's original contract, monthly statements, and payment reminders had no such verbiage, but merely stated the "Promotional Period End Date" and "First Payment Date". This type of wording seems to be very intentional so as to confuse their customers into thinking that if they pay the balance in full before the "First Payment Date" that they could avoid the interest charges. This practice that Goodleap uses has not only fooled us, but many others as well. There are many bad reviews from people on Trustpilot and BBB who have fallen victim to their predatory business practice who are in a very similar, if not the same circumstance. If your contractor insists on using Goodleap, look for a new contractor. read more

Goodleap is a company who works with professional con men as contractors. I put two new air conditioning units into my new home and the contractor offered Goodleap as a financing option. This contractor stated that he has represented Goodleap for many years and I took his word for it. Good lead works with these con artists to draw you in and steal your money. The contractor did not pull permits and everything was installed incorrectly. As a result, I am now having foundation issues with my home because of the improperly installed drain lines. The air conditioning units were all installed incorrectly and caused a fire. The contractor never showed up as I gave him numerous chances. He finally showed up at midnight one night, extremely drunk and stated that Goodleap had sent him to repair the units. I quickly removed him from my property. After numerous calls with Goodleap, I am still waiting for a resolution.. They keep saying they are looking into it and to wait. It has been eight long months. The Account Mgr. that I speak with is a lady by the name of Savannah Rogers and she does nothing but lie. She is another pawn that works for Goodleap, specializing in ripping the client off. Apparently, this is a common thing with good leaf, and I am in the process of putting together a class action lawsuit. All that are interested, kindly get in touch with me as I am filing the end of the month. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING WITH GOOD LEAP LOANS (not sure if all Good Leaps are owned by one company or they are some kind of affiliates - the mailing address on my documents say Richardson, Texas). If I could give a big fat 0 rating I would. I received a "promotional" interest free loan for 1 year. I paid the first installment on credit card as required, then had them debit my account for the next 11 months based on the balance due. THEY CALCULATED the amount to be deducted each month from my account (again, I didn't set the amount due each month - they did), and said it would be paid off in full at the end of the 11 mos. Well guess what? They calculated it wrong by .03 cents (yes you read that correctly - how convenient for them) and now they tell me I owe the back interest of $792 plus another bit of interest on that for a total of over $800. It was debited by them from my checking account each month (I didn't personally make the payments so nothing was ever late and it was debited by them based on their billing agent's calculations). It's their error in accounting and now they are trying to scam me into paying the back interest. I've called them 7 times in over 2 weeks and spoke to various agents, one who opened a "case" about it...always being told by everyone that I'd get a call back in 1-2 days. I've NEVER received a call back. The biggest joke is that they keep calling me to ask if I want another loan through their company for another home improvement (you can guess what I've said back to them)! This company probably figures most of us will just pay it and go away because we don't want our credit rating hurt. Check out all the bad reviews on this company which I should have done before taking out the loan but they were referred to me by a heating company that used to have a good reputation. So since I've now read so many complaints about people not getting return calls and all the financial problems they've had with this company, I have now made a complaint to my State Attorney's office and their department which handles such fraud and complaints. Don't know what will happen but hopefully this company is investigated. In the meantime, I'll probably make the payment to just to get rid of them, then decide if I want to take them to Small Claims Court. read more

I suspect to collect the most interest. GoodLeap does everything they can to make it difficult to payoff any installment loan on time. Change of auto pay amount is not allowed. If you make an additional payment early your auto payment is cancelled. Your initial bill will be send two month after contract starts therefore instead of 12 months to payoff the loan with no interest, you will have only 10 month. Website is very limiting as what you can see or do. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

I signed a contract with a solar panel company that went out of business so I tried getting out of the loan with goodleap, they told me they were looking for a new solar panel company to take over... after my monthly tripled and now being told they only hired a installment company to finish the panels but any fixings that need to be done now are up to me !!! The worst finance company ever. My A/C died early July. Called Semper Fi they came the same day. Days later had new a/c installed. They used GoodLeap to finance the loan. I wanted to pay it off so took out a mortgage loan. Got the payoff check July 30th. Certified mail on July 31st, long before the loan was set up. GoodLeap received the check on August 5th (by usps tracking) Lost the check and by September called me for payment. Called my mortgage co to stop payment and sent payoff by wire on September 25th. GoodLeap is still hounding me for payment. They do not acknowledge losing the first payment and expect payment. The loan is paid off. read more

If I could Write no Stars I would! I had a load with these guys for Solar panels a $33,000 loan, and whenever I called for assistance or information they always were not helpful, put you on long holds and transfer you to different departments and give you the run around. So Bad Service and not helpful. But what really stings Is I paid the loan off and I thought I was done. But NOPE they hit you with fees at the end. I have never seen this before I got hit with termination fees!! I never seen this for ending my car loan, I financed a Water softening system for my home, and that company didn't hit me with extra fees. NO OHTER LOAN company I know has hit me with fees after I gave them the money to pay off the loan. I called to inquire about this after I basically gave these guys thousands over the lifetime of the loan to see if they might waive these fees.... NOPE these guys are crooks, I cannot recommend them Please if you need to barrow money go anywhere else!!! Very unhelpful when you need service, and crooks overall!!!
