My new favorite head shop for high end gear. It's at a great location in Haight and the owner and staff are all friendly and super knowledgeable. Iv been collecting heady pipes for over a decade and this place has some of the best selection iv seen. They have everything from affordable brand name China glass to ridiculous custom pieces and all sorts of accessories. I dont usually travel out this way but I had seen online that they're one of the few places to carry Sovereignty peyote pillars and made the trip out to buy one. They had what I was looking for but I also saw they had my dream pipe an FYC(Fuck Your Crew) electroformed copper circ/circ Toro collab between JP Toro, Snic Barnes, and Michael Slinger. They havnt done these collabs in like half a decade so I was amazed to find one and couldn't resist spending the extra for it. Iv owned a circ/circ Toro before and also a similarly electroformed double frit Goldstein Rooster Aparatus so I already knew I'd love it but man the detail work and finishing on this pipe is killer! While I was there I got a black Santa Cruz Shredder grinder, a large Dimbag case for the pipe, a cracker, and tons of whippets. Fair prices, friendly knowledgeable staff, and amazing selection. Told them to call me when they get a Toro circ ashcatcher for the pipe in and more Sov pipes since I still want a worked pillar for the collection. This place doesn't appear to be very large in size from the outside, but once you actually make your way inside, you quickly realize that their inventory is way more massive than your mind could have ever imagined. Bravo to the person who designed their showroom, they managed to pack quite a bit of Smokeware and essentials into their open space, so well in fact that they are one of the only places around that could be considered a one stop shop. This store looks like it is sectioned out in segments, with some of the space dedicated to graphic tees, some arranged for Warriors pride, and more than half reserved for counter culture goodies like pipes, bongs, papers, and storage containers. They offer plenty of options for even the pickiest of smokers, no matter if you prefer glass or something smoother like vapor, these guys will always take care of you for a reasonable price. read more

Let me start off by saying Goodfellas SF has Top Class customer service. There was an unfortunate mix up during shipping. My order went to one person, and I received that persons. I'll spare the details but my order was probably worth 10x this other person's order. Unfortunately, this person seized the opportunity that was bestowed upon them and kept my order. Goodfellas immediately offered to refund my money. I however, was looking forward to this order as it was the final piece to a set years in the making. Goodfellas worked directly with the artist on my behalf to not only remake the piece, but to remake it to my custom specifications free of charge. It's sad that they had to take a loss on the original order, but this is by far the best service I've received from a head shop in my years of collecting. I'll definitely be back in the future. Let me start out by saying I have never had a bad experience coming into this shop. Everytime I go in there they're always friendly enough but not overly so, helpful, and c-h-e-a-p. I've bought... a lot of stuff there and I'm always very excited by how little I end up spending. The other day my kitty broke my down stem while I was at work. The only person to blame there was really myself, as Beulah was left sitting on the floor and Pauline was only following her natural kitty instincts. I brought the broken bits to the store in a bag and cautiously asked if I could bring them out in their resinated state. Assured that it was all right, the guy tried his very best to help me get the right one. Sadly, for some reason.... my mind is not as sharp as it used to be and I ended up going for the 14 instead of the 18. Brought it back maybe three or four days later and even without the receipt a different guy was happy to replace it. Happy I tell you! As a hardworking professional with a lot of pain who relies on the herbal remedy, my vote for Goodfellas is the product of thoughtful and thorough research. Yes, it's big and glaring. That said, they stock more stuff, and at better prices, than the vast majority of smoke shops, even on Haight Street (is that possible?). The staff has always been not only friendly, but actually HELPFUL. Yes, they sell pretty much the same stuff (generic, average quality) everyone else does. But they usually sell it for less (!), and the staff is friendly (a bonus in my book. not required but damn nice, and a negative if they are otherwise clueless) and, most importantly, seem knowledgable and helpful. (Some people should NOT work retail. Some people should not own retail businesses. Are you reading, Twilight Zone?) Oh, it's the only place I've ever seen markdown '420 Jars' from suggested retail. Bought a new "water pipe", and a bowl here recently. The piece I bought for $35 here was similar to those tagged at $100-120 elsewhere on the street. When I got home, I noticed the bowl piece wasn't fitting, it was about this time I started reading the horror stories here on Yelp. Brought the piece, back. and had no problems at all exchanging it. Dudes were super cool. I don't know all the politics behind the place, I will say don't believe the hype when it comes to exchanges though. This store has a lot of selection, nice tshirts and souvenirs such as key chains, etc. The gentleman at the counter, most prob the owner (between 50-65 years old,) he is a very nice gentleman. I wanted to return a T-shirt and although they don't refund, he was kind to offer an exchange. He took the time to help me find the needed size. This place is huge, and the employees are really helpful... but their pieces are over priced. I should of stuck with the smoke shop next door. I got my bb piece on SATURDAY, literally smoked like 4 bowls and it's CLOGGED, and the down stem basically touched the bottom of the bowl. AND there is a crack in the inside of the bowl. I am going to be the first person who really judges goodfellas from a customer stand point. I shop all over the bay area (Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco) to get my glass ware etc, and goodfellas who is fairly new to Haight & Ashbury district definitely is a great stop as a customer. Great prices, great group of steady employees. I have dealt with the same employee all 5 of my trips and has always given me great deals. And this place is huge. From my price tests on all over haight, Rachel h is right at saying they are the wal-mart of haight. They have the lowest prices and a great selection of glass, down stems, bowl pieces, etc. at the time they didn't sell any RooRs or Toro's. But they are new and after talking to the awesome employee (skinny white dood with short hair and goatee) said they are getting illadelph's and RooR's soon. So in conclusion from a customer stand point- Customer Service - A+ The guy is always chill and u can ask questions, trade stories etc Pricing - A+ Flexible on the sticker price Selection - A+ Many different types of tubes, pipes, bubblers, dug outs etc Parking - C+ It is on haight so be warned. Bought a sweatshirt with my 14 year old daughter here, when we started to leave the store, she decided to change the color and when she hastily changed out the sweatshirt - she mistakenly took an XXXLarge. The very next day we tried to simply change out the sweater for a smaller size. The salesperson refused to let us exchange the sweatshirt for a smaller size and was ...rude, to say the least. This store is geared mostly for tourist that don't know any better and would be better be suited @ Pier 39, if it weren't for the cannabis section. As for the threatening salesperson, well I guess it is primarily a "HeadShop" so I suppose they might need intimidating figures present from time to time. My daughter simply asked that they give the XXXLarge sweatshirt to a homeless person and we left the store and will never return. Very bad experience - stay away from Goodfellas - they are as mean as the name might suggest, (anyone see the movie?) I like this store. When you walk into this store, it is obvious as to what some of the 1 star review rants about. Yes there is cheap glass in quality and price but as far as I'm concerned its obvious and people still want it so why hate on what the people want to buy??? Not everyone has the money to drop on a custom piece and haight isnt exactly the cheapest area to look either. They do have a small selection of Illadelphs and such but these pieces are not really significantly cheaper than other stores and if they are, I will buy it from there because I do not make much money. This store is not a chain from what I understand so the other stores just need to compete. Like I said, the difference in glass is obvious. There are much prettier pieces elsewhere that are custom, locally made, and expensive. People usually know if they want something custom or something cheap, dont judge them for what the decisions they are making. I find the owners to be very nice, the free lighters and beeline dont mean much but they dont mean nothing either. i like this place, im personally not a huge glass buyer, but the staff in there is always very friendly and knowledgeable. ive bought a few items there like my pax and some replacement stems for bongs. I spent a long time talking to Danny yesterday who ran me through alot of the glass pieces,and couldnt have been nicer or more helpful. The swag clothing, gits collection is very touristy and a bit mainstream for my taste, but its probably good for the tourists who come in there. If they had some more unusual clothing and gifts to match the quality of their glass ware I'd say 5 stars. read more

I bought a glass joint so you can fill it up with weed, and the same day the glass broke. Came in a couple of days later in hope of getting maybe a new glass part, or just some advice because there was no instructions.
