I obtained 4 bids ranging $2,942-$5,870 and already had: 11 g SW paint, 3 spray cans, plastic wrap,…read moreblue tape. I choose Lilac City Painting (LCP) $5,870 for 800 sq ft, because I wanted the time and effort spent to focus on my walls being completed well. LCP said each of the types of problems currently on my walls could all be easily fixed - but then again the $2,942 bid said the same - so maybe I should have went w/ them... After the 1st room was completed - super quickly - and I still saw ALL of the types of wall issues that were previously confirmed fixable...the owner stopped by again and said the walls were not going to be perfect. I didn't ask for perfect, I asked for very common walls issues to be fixed before painting and was told that was no problem pre-payment. Now, all of a sudden, those types of minor wall issues I pointed out (described on the quote/invoice), were a problem. Even though there are currently a thousand and 1 videos online showing otherwise for both plaster and drywall. When reading the project description on the quote & invoice back to LCP: "The walls will need to be pole sanded...will ensure a smooth finish and guarantee a correct finish. The walls will be filled, spackled and caulked prior to painting. Filling any nail holes, gouges and retexturing patches. The pipes need some scuff sanding to remove major blemishes." I asked LCP why I was seeing evidence of this not happening, w/ the owner's response being that was just "Standard Painting TEMPLATE Text" and doesn't mean anything. So basically meaningless words put on LCP logo paperwork, w/ an invoice nbr, job desc, tot dol amnt (which was paid in full already), but clients should in no way expect the services described, talked about and paid for to be work LCP does, because those words are just "Standard Painting TEMPLATE Text". It will be interesting to see how the court interprets this. We ended the conversation with LCP agreeing they would just "do the best they could". LCP moved on to the remaining rooms and after continuously pointing out numerous spots on the walls still not being addressed, the painter just kept saying he was only allotted 74 hrs for this project. The painter worked approx 12 6.25 hr days = 75. Although, there was never a limit of hours discussed for this project. $5,870 for 800 sq ft with 2/3rd of the paint already provided was more than enough for this project to be completed VERY well. None of those numbers makes sense... After I made my complaints well known throughout the job, the job was left as LCP "doing the best they could". So attached are some pictures of LCP's "best they can do" work. Unfortunately, my phone doesn't take very good pictures, so I will put up a website/channel showing better detail and also the person's work I hire to fix and finish completing work LCP should have been able to do - basically fixing their work. I mean my own mani/pedi file can scuff/sand the pipes better than LCP (which I did ask the painter if he wanted to borrow, but he declined and wanted to continue using a sanding block worn down to the smoothness of a Kleenex). LCP self-advertises as "Spokane's Interior EXPERTS - Many of these old homes just need correct prep to restore them to their original luster". I'll post better pics, once professionally taken, w/ a ruler next to the various issues to be able to see the small size. Many people asked how the project went, so I wanted to make sure I posted some pictures now until I have more time.

I noticed some peeling shortly before the 2 year warranty expired and had difficulty contacting them and could not get a response and so I posted highly negative review. They since have responded and even though the warranty has expired they are going to fix the problem at no cost. Their phone and e-mail service was having problems so they had to move to another provider. They have proven to be a quality and reliable company. I hope they will accept my apology for the ill-considered bed review. I highly recommend this company
