I can concur that TREY WILSON of Gooden landscape is a Liar and a Thief! He stole $2700 and has not given it back. On November 8th 2022, we received a quote from Trey Wilson of Gooden Landscaping, LLC for the installation of an irrigation system in our yard. He quoted $2700 and requested that we pay the full amount up front. I did not find paying the whole fee up front to be normal but he stated because we got a discount he required the funds up front. On 11/12/22, we sent a payment of $2700 via Zelle. He responded that same day that he would start the work on Thursday (11/17/22) or Friday (11/18/22). The work did not start as expected. My husband and I saw him in the community several times from the booking date until 12/13/22 and inquired on when he would start. His response was that he would get to our yard but was busy with others within our community. A text was sent on 12/13/22, asking when he would start the work as I understood the weather was not the best the past few weeks. He responded that he would start the week before Christmas. The holidays came and gone (Christmas and NYE) and we never heard from Trey or saw him in the community. During this time, we chatted with other neighbors who voiced the same concerns but some stated that he has come through and got the job done. On 2/4/23, I sent a text, "Good evening, I hope all is well. When do you plan to work on our yard? It's going on two months now and would like an update. Thank you". I never received a response. Sometime in March of 2023, Trey came to our residence and stated he had some legal Issues. He showed us an ankle bracelet and said he would schedule us later in the month. Once again, he scheduled a date and we kept being rescheduled after checking our appointment date via the email link he sent after payment was made. From April to the end of May of 2023, we saw him in the community on occasion and he kept saying we're next and he would get the work started and never showed up. My husband and I finally made a decision after reading FB post within our community and online of similar issues that we would request a refund and no longer conduct business with Gooden Landscape services. On June 1st, I sent him a text asking for a refund and he responded that he would was actually starting the work the following day. We stated that we no longer wanted the services and want a refund. He replied that that my husband and I would get a full refund the following week. We followed up on June 8th and sent a text asking when we would get the refund. He didn't respond. so another text was sent on June 9th stating the following, "Good afternoon Trey, it's now Friday and we have yet to receive our refund of $2,700. We value small business and love supporting minorities. This is beyond unprofessional, disrespectful and disappointing. We shouldn't have to wait 7-8 months for a service where our money was required in advance. Please refund our money ASAP. You have the option of sending it via Zelle or Venmo. He replied back that he was waiting on the refund going back on his card. Then proceeded to blame us for "canceling" the service and said it would take 5-7 business days to get the money and would Zelle the funds back to us. FRAUD!! Not licensed not insured!!! This company has destroyed my yard, destroyed my driveway, done the WORST work possible and has now disappeared while the job is less than halfway complete and SIMPLY STOLE MY $25,700. I am pressing fraud charges with the DA in the morning as he states he is licensed and insured but that is not true. He has now flipped a rented loader in my yard and left it there for three days. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We contracted Gooden Landscapes to install a ~400 sq. ft. concrete paver patio which also included installing a drain line to carry gutter downspout water away from the house. It started out great from a sales/quote perspective but completely fell apart by the end. Trey is a nice guy and likely would have done great work under normal circumstances. But, as we learned, because of the pandemic, supplies are hard to come by, and he was not up front about that. Instead, he took our 50% deposit in May and said he ordered the pavers we selected and would install in June. In June, he showed up with a different product from what we requested telling us they were the only pavers he could get his hands on. After doing our own due diligence, we confirmed supply chain issues and decided to proceed with the pavers he had on hand thinking we were actually lucky. At that time, Trey also asked us for a $1500 progress payment (offering a ~$400 discount on the back end) which we agreed to because we trusted he would not leave us holding the bag. So at that point, we had paid him $4,000 of a $5400 job. He installed the pavers but fell 100 square feet short of product and could not get more of it. He then shows up and removes everything because he said the product we originally wanted was going to be delivered after all. Long story short, that did not happen. So after 3 weeks of trying to resolve the matter, Trey finally agreed that he would refund our money (minus ~$400 cost of gutter downspout drain line he ran). Not only has Trey not refunded the balance of what we paid him, he left us with a mess in our yard, so we can't even go back to the way it was before he started. Our only hope is that since we paid by Amex, we will be able to recover our money. On a side note, Trey complained about having spent a lot of hours on our job, which is true. He had one guy helping him, and they both were very slow. It was clear that neither were motivated to hustle and get the job done quickly. And it is also not our fault he laid pavers and couldn't finish because he had incorrectly calculated the square footage. To add insult, because we are seeking to resolve this issue legally via Amex, Trey has accused us of taking food out of his family's mouth. As if $4,000 is a drop in the bucket for us. He never should have taken our money, knowing he could not deliver on what was expected. It truly is a shame all the way around. read more

Trey and his team saved me this spring! We had soooooo much work to do and very little free time to do it. He arrived within days of my request. We walked through the yard and he gave me options. Had a quote to me the same night and we started the project within days. They did such a great job that we added a second and then a third project!
