Our family has been incredibly blessed by Good Shepherd Lutheran School (soon to become Trinity Lutheran School). What first stood out to us was the small class sizes, but we quickly realized that "small" is actually one of this school's greatest strengths. The teachers truly know and care for their students, go above and beyond to help them succeed, and are able to fully teach the curriculum instead of constantly playing catch-up. Students have opportunities to participate in weekly chapel, STEM, gardening, PE, musicals, extracurricular activities, and one of my favorite things -- ASL for all students with daily practice opportunities. Looking back, I can clearly see God's hand leading our family here. We wanted a school where we could be involved and build community... and apparently God took that prayer seriously because I somehow ended up as PTL president. I asked for a way to help and He responded with, "Wonderful, here's a full-time ministry!" Haha. What this school may lack in size, it more than makes up for in heart. The school community is amazing, with fun events throughout the year like Trunk or Treat, Christmas shops, spirit weeks, family celebrations, and a huge end-of-year event everyone looks forward to. In my role with PTL, I've had the unique opportunity to work closely with teachers, staff, and parents. Like any school, families sometimes come and go, but I can honestly say I've seen the administration approach difficult situations with prayer, communication, grace, and genuine care. They strive to put God first in their decisions, and I think it speaks volumes that I've seen several families return and re-enroll after leaving. Most importantly, this school has deeply impacted our family's life. The teachers, staff, and church community have become like family to us. These are genuine people who love God and truly care about the children they serve. We will forever be grateful for the friendships, faith, and opportunities this school has brought into our lives. read more

Such a hidden gem! This small school offers small classes (no more than 16 kids per class), a modern curriculum, STEM, lots of movement (3 recesses per day, extra PE, sign language), and a very calm nurturing environment where everyone knows everyone. The tuition is very affordable (currently $7,500/year) and includes free before and after school tuition. read more

It's a beautiful, small school with kind teachers and friendly staff. Unfortunately, my low rating is directed specifically toward the principal. As someone who represents a faith-based school, she does not reflect God's love for children, nor does she treat them equally. If your child is easy, quick to learn, and doesn't need extra support, they may do fine here. But for children who face challenges--such as ADHD, learning difficulties, or even separation anxiety--there is little to no support, especially from the principal. When my son was just 5 years old and starting kindergarten, he struggled with separation anxiety. I'll never forget one morning when he cried at the gate during drop-off. Instead of offering compassion, the principal instructed the front desk staff not to help him. She had him sit outside her office and told me to come back and take him home. At such a young and tender age, this lack of care left a deep mark on him. My son is now 10, but he still remembers the pain of being treated that way. I've told him to pray for her, hoping God will soften her heart so that she may one day show the same love to every child. I share this review not out of bitterness, but to help parents make an informed decision. If your child ever needs extra understanding and support, please be cautious about this school. read more

Good Shepherd Elementary School has truly been a blessing for my family. Sending my firstborn to Kindergarten was a big step, but knowing she is in such a nurturing, caring, and positive environment brings me so much peace. Mrs. A is an exceptional teacher--her kindness, dedication, and attention to each child's growth are evident every day. The school feels like a second home, and I am so grateful for the strong foundation it's providing for my daughter. It's not always easy to trust someone with your child's education, but Good Shepherd has exceeded all of my expectations. It's truly the best of the best and an answer to prayer. We LOVE GSLS!! Choosing a school for your child is one of the biggest decisions a parent can make, and I can not speak highly enough. While some may say our small size is a negative, each of my son's classes have not had more than 15 students! Where else can you have that individual attention to make sure your child is on the right track? And can I just say how wonderful the all teachers are? They go above and beyond to make sure my son feels safe, special, and smart. They do an excellent job of pushing students to excel, but implementing lots of fun activities like STEAM, PE, spirit days, color runs, and special assemblies. This school is a gem! read more

We sent our child here and we were very upfront about our child's special needs. We were assured they had dealt with these kinds of special needs before. After a couple months of attendance, a meeting was called, and our child was asked to leave because they "couldn't meet our student's needs." We were blessed by this because after this we were led by God to a much more Christ-like school that had supports for students who struggle. Jesus came for the least of these. If you couldn't have handled our student you should have first called a meeting to express your concerns and sought solutions. Save your time and your child's heart by AVOIDING this Christian in name only school. read more

If you're looking for a school for your child that has a loving, caring environment with great academics Good Shepherd Lutheran School is the school you're looking for. I personally attended the school from 1997 until 2006 and I left with countless great memories. Some of the faculty from that time still works there.
