Prior to working out at Bulates, I did privates with an instructor who had a reformer at her house. I went religiously three times a week for years, never realizing that my positions were wrong, never really properly stretching and there wasn't the same attention to form. I still loved it and got a lot of benefit, but not like now. Not only are the instructors here extremely well trained, but they keep things interesting and new by changing it up constantly. This also encourages your body to use muscles you didn't even realize you had! There's more emphasis on your core, every single muscle group, flexibility and balance. It sounds corny, but I feel like I've really gotten to know and strengthen my body. And I used to do MMA and taekwondo, and still didn't achieve the overall strength that I have now. Finally, because I have gotten so much benefit, I got my 78 year old Dad into it. After one class he absolutely fell in love with Pilates. If you've got an old injury that you're trying to heal from, if you're currently going to physical therapy, talk to your doctor and consider adding Pilates. The instructors here will take excellent care of you and build you back up carefully and skillfully.

In my opinion, you are behaving in the most disrespectful way! You notified me while I was looking for parking before entering the class! And you charged me another $30 for a late fee!!!! The height of insolence! I'm still waiting for my money back! Regarding your scheduling and registration, it didn't work for me personally as a mother of 3, so I felt that the money I was paying wasn't worth it to me if I couldn't schedule classes! I love Jennifer!…read more She has a warm beautiful energy, combined with patience and vast knowledge of the body. She is continually advancing her knowledge and understanding of movement and exercises. This along with her dance background makes her a wonderful teacher. I have taken her Pilates class at Malibu Bluffs. Really? How can you have a bad experience when you have beautiful views of the ocean, Santa Monica Mountains behind, and Jennifer's soothing calm voice guiding you through your workout. My body and mind felt relaxed and energized after the amazing workout! I can't wait to take her Pilates and Paddleboard class. Also, as a physical therapist I am comfortable recommending any patients to her for training or post-rehab. If you want more from your workouts and a caring knowledgeable teacher then Jennifer is the go to person. I highly recommend taking Jennifer's classes or private instruction.

Malibu's best-kept secret for keeping toned and fit!…read more At first, I was skeptical about trying a workout that claims you only have to do it once a week. After all, I was used to doing pilates, yoga, and going on walks several times a week, and I knew how much work it took to get results. However, I've had back problems and injuries for years, so I'm always open to trying new workouts to see if they can improve how I feel. My trainer, Kathryn, is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She is funny and conversational, and just a total sweetheart. She explains that it is the quality, not quantity of a workout that is the most important; the weight-training exercises, done correctly, will bring you to "failure" very quickly, and then you work in that tough spot, until you can no longer do it. That is why Slow Form works, and why you don't do it very often. I'm the most fit looking, and the strongest, I've ever been. I love knowing that my workouts are efficient, and how my trainer tracks my progress to make sure I am improving from week to week. My back never hurts from these workouts. Seeing Kathryn every week is so great, and the ocean view doesn't hurt either.

It looked like fluffy dogs had been the participants of the class before the one I took - there was hair everywhere! From the straps to the jump board to the floor and in the middle of the reformer. I was given an additional comp class to try the studio out which they said was "regularly cleaned." At my next visit it wasn't as bad yet there was still much more hair than I would like- which is virtually none (I prefer not to lay in someone else hair while I'm working out and getting sweaty) Several months pass and I get a call from someone at the studio inviting me for another class. Unfortunately, I missed the class YET I received an email stating I get a do-over* literally a whole email like BUMMER you missed the class- not to worry you get a do-over. When I responded to the email to schedule my do-over I was then told I had received "too many comp classes," AFTER THEY INITIALLY REACHED OUT TO ME. It's a tiny studio and honestly not ran properly, they can't even keep track of their marketing and promotional efforts! Don't waste your time! Try STRNG Pilates down the street, they are cleaner and the staff is wayyyyyy NICER than the staff at Wunda Westlake so disappointing it's a cute space in a really good location and has potential just needs better management!

I came early, said it was my first time, received barely hello - zero inquiry about my fitness level and possible health issues. (I do have some.) No info what to expect in the class. He greeted and small talk people he seemed to know but not much talk about the form for the class - not just me - the instruction "just watch the person before you" is NOT a professional fitness instructor .. the class was ok.. no stretching at the end, (!!!) just lie down on the floor and "relax" for 5 min. (Muscle spams and cramps await). The class is 45 min btw (somehow I thought it would be 60 min .) I have been in average gyms, upscale gyms but this was below average. The gym doesn't have lockers, only two showers/restrooms - not sure how this works when more people want to change in busy hours ... the rest of the gym is fine - outside and inside equipment ...
