Their comprehensive knowledge of dog behavior, particularly regarding reactive dogs, was impressive. We take our rescue puppy, Zero, to the puppy socialization classes on Tuesdays and Saturdays. He started out hiding under our chairs and after 3 weeks is starting to play with the other puppies! We're so happy with his socialization progress, especially because he has no other outlet yet while he's only partially vaccinated (puppies require 2 of 3 vaccine rounds). We're also so glad to have the trainers' help when assessing his play, Zero is our first puppy so we don't yet understand what his behavior means; Seth and Beth are incredibly helpful in interpreting what our pup is feeling! The trainers, led by Seth and Beth, give excellent lessons in obedience; they've really helped me see how "tricks" like sitting or touching are the foundation for good behavior later on like being home alone or recall. They also take time at the end of each class to make individualized recommendations, which has helped a ton with our puppy's biting. With lots of at-home practice, our puppy has learned a lot of really great behaviors; now that he's playing with other pups, he's starting to get distracted in class, but we're so thankful to have the trainers' help in redirecting him! The puppy classes are a mix of training and play with alternating 10-15 min sessions of each, which allows socialization and prevents the pups from getting bored of training. The trainers here really balance training and socialization well (which we never could have done on our own), they know just when to let our puppy play and when to give him boundaries. If you're thinking of taking your puppy here, all I can say is "DO IT!"

I would like to share our amazing Karma Dog Training experience with our recent adoption of an…read more8-year-old male dog who was just so stubborn and domineering that we need some sort of "doggie etiquette" training in order to keep him. "Kenji," a Chihuahua mix that recently joined our family, showed many behavioral signs of prior abuse. I was beginning to wonder if training him would even be possible. Our Karma Dog experience began with several emails with Jeffrey Brian Liebowitz, the Owner and Founder of Karma Dog Training. Jeffrey immediately helped us to find the closest Karma Dog training location to our home. We were fortunate to have Khalani as our Karma Dog Trainer. Kenji responded extremely well under Khalani's tutelage. Khalani always listened to my concerns regarding Kenji's odd responses during our practice sessions. Her recommendations of how to overcome Kenji's objections and how to easily "counter" his dominance attempts and defiant attitude really worked! But, it was the unending source of encouragement and emotional support, which Khalani gave me, that really made the difference. Khalani never let me "give up" with Kenji's training "stalls." She always helped me feel optimistic and provided me with clever "tricks" to try during the week between our classes. I don't think Kenji and I would have made it through the entire course to receive Kenji's very first Certificate of Completion if it hadn't been for Khalani! I'm sure we would have dropped out after the first few classes as we had a 2 1/2 hour "round trip" commute for Khalani's "one-hour" Karma Dog class each week. I must commend Khalani for her unending enthusiasm, unrelenting encouragement and her deep dedication to her work with Kenji and me. I certainly appreciate everything Khalani has done to help Kenji and me create the happy, healthy and growing bond of love and "respect" that did not exist between us BEFORE we trained with Khalani. Without reservation, I highly recommend Jeffrey Brian Liebowitz's Karma Dog Training, and especially Khalani! It almost made me cry to see little Kenji so happy as drove into the parking lot for our last class because Kenji actually started whimpering with joy when he realized we were on our way to Karma Dog class! This was the first time I ever heard him "yap with sheer delight." What a transformation! I think Kenji's response is about the "highest" compliment a dog can give to a trainer. Apparently their business is in 3 different countries so you'll still be able to continue the training if you move someplace else. Stephanie is a wonderful trainer with Bark Buster. During our initial meeting, she explained my dogs' behaviors clearly and how I could address them better so they understand. I wasn't expecting such fast results, but my walk with them the next morning was unbelievable. For context, I have a 3 y/o M Doberman/Husky (neutered) with attention seeking & hyperactive issues. He's aggressive with other dogs & people on walks, and pulls hard on the leash. My other dog is a 2 y/o M Malitpoo (neutered) who barks at everything inside & outside the house. For the first time ever, using the tools & tips from Stephanie, my D/H was looking at me & walking by my side the entire time. We came up on 3 individuals with big dogs on separate occasions , but my dogs actually listened to me to sit and they just stared at me as the dogs passed them. although they saw the other dogs, they remained calm (no tensed bodies & pointy hair) and didn't bark.
