Check out the Wine sale aisle as you walk in, I love the great selection of craft beer here, and recently put together a great selection of Chicago and NW IN beers to take back to Wisconsin. They'll box up your haul in old liquor boxes for easy transport, and Hopslam is readily available here during its limited release. The beer selection and samplings that happen here on the regular make this a great neighborhood or destination liquor store.

Maybe Foremost is a great place for craft beer, but I was looking for a decent, inexpensive domestic red. What I found were wines I can find elsewhere, but at jacked-up prices. I finally bit the bullet, grabbed a longtime fave bargain zinfandel, marked up to $11.99. Now, I don't expect to pay Binny's prices at neighborhood stores, but that's $2 or $3 more than the same bottle runs at my old corner liquor store, Windy City Liquors. In short, if you're desperate for a BYOB bottle, plan ahead or be prepared to pay the premium.

This IS an old skool liquor store, and I expected to walk into a decrepit, crumbling place jammed full of cheap beer and those high-alcohol wine cooler thingies, whatever those are, I don't even know. And bunches of Swisher Sweets on the counter next to the Slim Jims. Well, throw your stereotypes out the window, E! This is a clean, bright, fresh-smelling establishment. Cute guy behind the counter bobbing away to "Bust A Move". There might have been Swisher Sweets and Slim Jims, but I didn't see any. What I did come for is beer, 'cos that's what my budget is now. What a selection! And the prices were great! I got a six pack of Hooegarden Belgian White Ale for $8.99, which I thought was a pretty good price. A lot of specialized beer is lost on me, but someone who is an aficionado of that stuff would find a lot to love here. Seemed to be a lot of local microbrews and foreign stuff. Always a fan of foreign stuff. Beer and the usual array of other adult beverages. Nice, clean, well organized booze purveyors!

They also carry a wide range of beer. There's something for everyone! I'm a huge fan of the Eastern European wines. They have 'em! Greek, Bosnian, Montenegrin, Romanian, Russian. Everything is priced to sell. You'd be hard-pressed to find anything over $14 in that section. I highly recommend the Bulgarian Bear's Blood. Not sure what to get or on a budget? Take a gamble! I suggest checking out the "Adult Ball Pit of Beverages" as Maria F. and I have dubbed it. It's their giant clearance bin of wines found at the end of the farthest aisle.
