(Reviewed during the COVID pandemic) Solid 4.5 stars if you are a craft beer fan! A large selection... plenty of non-Chicago breweries for variety... prices aren't bad...a few rare ones here and there... and some seasonal sales can be found. Be aware though.... if you're the kind of buyer that likes to talk beer with the employees, this isn't this place. Also.... aisles are close, so it's hard to properly social distance if it's crowded. But, definitely worth a trip to check out the beer selection! read more

Here's what you need to know: this is a review for the curbside delivery experience during the Coronavirus pandemic in July 2020. Great customer service over the phone. Easy curbside pickup - parked right outside the store, and my bottle was brought right to me within 2 minutes and placed in my car's frunk. Outstanding selection of spirits, including some very hard to find Japanese whiskey . Extremely reasonable pricing that make for great deals. Very courteous and friendly staff, both during the call and during the pickup stage. The store is at an intersection so parking is a bit tough, and you may have to squeeze your car around the crosswalk. I will definitely patronize then again. read more

Mike and his crew are some of the best around with regards to customer service, product knowledge, and just knowing what is trending in the world of all things spirits! I've had multiple visits where the Moreno's team has been more than helpful in finding that Uber rare beer or whiskey for me. Most recently, an incredibly helpful cashier took my call and even saved a very rare 4-pack for me. The craziest thing was I didn't even ask her to do it, but she just took it as it was the last beer on the shelves of its kind and she put it aside anyway. It's those small things that sets Moreno's aside from all the rest in Chicago. Their prices are fair and obviously their selection is second to none! Mmmm, beer. I was in search of a specific beer and Beermenus directed me here. It's not terribly far from home and it's not quite k-town (the only place aside from all of Pulaski I try to avoid), so why not? Well shit. I'm in love. I'm not even taking into consideration the drive down 26th street to get here (mmm, tacos), I'm talking solely the selection of booze. Craft beer, macro beer, 8 million types of tequila (just a guess, might be a smidge off) and pretty much anything you could ask for in a liquor store. While I was wandering around I came across bloody mary salt, and not that snooty stuff Binny's sells. I found the good stuff, right there next to the Michelada mixers. When I walked up to the counter with more than enough beer, the girl smiled and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I got down to the nitty gritty and she gave me the info I needed. Done and done. I've found a new liquor store to fit into my rotation, because my check-ins don't make me look like enough of an alcoholic. If I wasn't so secure knowing I buy more than I drink, I'd feel self-conscious about this, but I don't. Anyhow, Moreno's is legit. read more

Tequila enthusiasts paradise!!!... I mean really! this place has a large variety of tequilas ever created, even Tequilas that are only sold in Mexico. In addition, rare Tequilas (I believe also from Mexico) are displayed in cabinets. This place is huge, seriously it's about the size of an average Mexican grocery store. The staff is cool, prices are reasonable, and surprisingly this place doesn't get packed (I was here on a Saturday night) like other liquor stores of this size. You can find anything (The "Corona Familiar" have a fridge of their own) from 40oz to rare hard-liquors. By far this is the biggest liquor store I've been to, in the west side. read more

So this place is good in the hood. And by that I mean it is a real liquor store that has a good selection. Not just your stereotypical Tecate and Corona. Since I don't drink anymore it is sort of wasted on me but I like to look at the pretty bottles. Prices are alright, they have some obscure tequilas. They also had a pulce tasting last Friday which I did not take advantage of....but I guess if you like tequila this would be the place to go. Parking is horrendous but that is to be expected on 26th street. Pull up and put the hazards on, you probably won't get a ticket. Most people seem to chance it. Lines move pretty quickly so make your selections before you get out of the car. There is a lot around the corner but it is easier to get out on the street.... read more

This liquor store is seriously such a hidden gem. My husband and I caught on after a friend let slip something about his "secret" liquor store location and have been frequenting Moreno's ever since. Their craft beer selection is out of this world and it's a MUST for any special releases. While all the other sheeple are waiting in hours long lines at Binny's or other well known liquor stores we're getting right in and out without missing a beat on any of our favorite beers. I am seriously hesitant to even write this review in fear of it catching on too much and not being our craft beer sanctuary but I feel I need to give props where props are due. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and are open to conversation, feedback, and special requests. What more can you ask for?!? read more

On my way to Colorado Springs from Canada and I missed my connecting flight. I was stuck in Chicago until 5 pm the next day. Took a taxi to Moreno's because I heard about them for such a long time and given the fact they don't deliver, if I was going to purchasing anything, I had to travel there myself. I picked up a bottle of Rey Campero Chato; a Moreno's exclusive. This complete's my collection. I would have bought more as they had an amazing selection of Tequilas and Mezcals but I had already had my quota for bringing booze back duty free. I was greeted by who I think was the owner. Very nice gentleman. The staff were extremely helpful and the lady at the counter was super pleasant. It really is a shame they don't deliver. They had so many interesting clay products (jarritos) but again, I only had so much space in my luggage. I plan on visiting Chicago again soon and Moreno's is definitely on my list of places to visit. read more

They have some great stuff! Tons of gems that I don't see in other places and they had great customer service. The brewracho event was pretty good but just one suggestion for the event. When you release the whiskey there were some animals snatching it out of people's hands as soon as it was on the shelf and a couple of times snatching it from the hands of the employee. Maybe for next year you can have people take a number, start a queue or even have a small game like rock paper scissor tournament. It would make it less stressful and maybe save some people from fighting over stuff. read more

I do enjoy their selection of craft beer BUT they ( girls at the cashier ) need some 101 customer service classes. As I am looking for what I would like to purchase, a store clerk begins to follow my boyfriend and I around the store. She then asks us if we need help with anything and responded no. However when we did ask for a specific item she replied " if you do not see it , we do not have it". So much for asking what we needed help with. I am sure I have eyes to see for myself but thought someone that worked there could help me. It's a shame that Mike Moreno Sr. and Jr. put forth such a vast effort to provide such selection of craft beer and spirits for there customers for then to receive such disappointing customer service. read more

Absolutely love this place! They have such a wide selection of wine, liquor, and beer. The staff really helps you pick out what you're looking for based on your preferences and they have the best prices. This store has also been around for almost 40 years, so they know what they're doing! They do tastings, they look for the best prices and they have such a unique variety of liquids that you can't find anywhere else. It's pretty easy to get to and easy to find, plus they have some parking in the back. We love coming here since they're so involved with the community, and they're so friendly! I just love that they know what they're talking about and they're constantly doing activities, from tastings to celebrations, to just talking about the amazing liquors they have in the store. They've got really strong relationships with their partners too, which explains the great prices. I'm not really a tequila fan, but Mike, the marketing guru and liquor afficionado from the store, introduced my husband and I do some amazing tequila that was smooth and didn't have that punching after taste. While visiting from Washington, D.C. I was on the hunt to find a good liquor store that carried a large selection of imported tequilas. Someone recommended Moreno's Liquor Store and it was instantly love at first sight/visit. Not only did they have a large selection, but they have knowledgeable staff, and GREAT PRICES! My fiancé and I even created a new margarita which we named the Millionaire Moreno Margarita (M3). Not sure what their store motto is but they should consider "Every City needs a Moreno's Liquors Store" or "Where Tequila is cheaper than Water" read more
