Even as a little guy, I'd buy my orange soda and Krunchers here and the staff was always welcoming. Now as an adult and part-time bourbon hunter- I was impressed upon my last visit here. Wide selection and great prices. I particularly liked the Japanese whisky and also MGP sourced bourbons here (Old Scout, Barrell, Pinhook, Old Elk etc). Well curated selection if you ask me. Staff was/is helpful and friendly as always. Long live Toni's !!

Maybe Foremost is a great place for craft beer, but I was looking for a decent, inexpensive domestic red. What I found were wines I can find elsewhere, but at jacked-up prices. I finally bit the bullet, grabbed a longtime fave bargain zinfandel, marked up to $11.99. Now, I don't expect to pay Binny's prices at neighborhood stores, but that's $2 or $3 more than the same bottle runs at my old corner liquor store, Windy City Liquors. In short, if you're desperate for a BYOB bottle, plan ahead or be prepared to pay the premium.

This IS an old skool liquor store, and I expected to walk into a decrepit, crumbling place jammed full of cheap beer and those high-alcohol wine cooler thingies, whatever those are, I don't even know. And bunches of Swisher Sweets on the counter next to the Slim Jims. Well, throw your stereotypes out the window, E! This is a clean, bright, fresh-smelling establishment. Cute guy behind the counter bobbing away to "Bust A Move". There might have been Swisher Sweets and Slim Jims, but I didn't see any. What I did come for is beer, 'cos that's what my budget is now. What a selection! And the prices were great! I got a six pack of Hooegarden Belgian White Ale for $8.99, which I thought was a pretty good price. A lot of specialized beer is lost on me, but someone who is an aficionado of that stuff would find a lot to love here. Seemed to be a lot of local microbrews and foreign stuff. Always a fan of foreign stuff. Beer and the usual array of other adult beverages. Nice, clean, well organized booze purveyors!

I guess the cool thing about running is you notice some establishments that you missed while driving. Anyway, the friendly Asian cashier lady was telling me that the store has been open since 1977. I don't know why I was comparing myself to a liquor store, but for some reason I felt better about my age. Hey, maybe because I was in slightly better condition than the store. I just need to shed a rice bag worth of fat, have surgery on my shoulder (preferably bionic arm attachment), transplant a few fast twitch muscle fibers, and an injection of gingko/ fish oil bathed CSF, and I'm good as new! Okay, so this summer I have been all about finding the best white beer. This store has Wittekerke, Blue Moon, Hoegaarden, Blanche de Bruxelles. They even have Three Floyds as well as other relatively hard to find brews. The beer prices are reasonable, it sure beats getting price plundered by Devon market a few blocks down.

Seriously if your up on Milwaukee Ave zip over a bit and get to this place with a ridiculous assortment of great beer. Sure they have the regular stuff, liquor n domestic beers, but if the parking lot is full, just park on the street, it's so worth checking out and loading up on great beer. Look for the beer cooler but just know their helpfulness was a step up from any local bottle shop I've been to.

Terrible Customer Service - Avoid This place…read more I've never felt so unwelcome in a store before. All I did was open the fridge **twice** because I wasn't sure what I wanted, and the staff acted like I committed a crime. One of the employees got visibly annoyed and made a snarky comment about me letting the "cold air out." Seriously? If you're that worried about your beer getting slightly less cold for **two seconds**, maybe you shouldn't be running a liquor store where customers need to **see their options** before buying. The attitude was horrible--no patience, no understanding, just pure rudeness. There are plenty of other places that actually appreciate their customers and don't treat them like an inconvenience for daring to browse. Save yourself the hassle and take your business elsewhere. **Zero stars if I could.**
