They also have a ton of squat racks and benches available so you can probably always find equipment--we came while half the squat racks were taken because a class was in session and we (3 of us) still didn't need to wait for any equipment. My only complaint is that there is no designated room for the classes, so it can get really loud while they're teaching them because you have to work out in the same area. It would have been good to have a warning about that before.

Update, still a beautiful facility, very clean but I have some things I'm not crazy about…read more 1.It's stuffy, I don't know if they use the AC, but if they do it's still warm, like mid 70's feeling which is abnormal if you're used to commercial gyms which temps hover around 67-72 degrees. They recently put in two industrial sized fans, but it doesn't solve the lack of ventilation/circulation 2.They are always out of paper towels but they do have small microfiber rags available 3.The incline bench press has a platform for a spotter but it is too close to the wall 4. Their water filter says it needs to be replaced, I don't know if that is accurate or not, but I did try it and it tastes fine. 5.The parking lot gets tight, I wonder if the spaces are not regular sized because I have had to climb into the driver's seat through the passenger's side because someone parked too close even though I park pretty smack dab in the middle between the lines. For double the price of a typical gym points 1 and 2 seem very fixable. The rest are just small grievances, or simply observations. Still a great gym. Love the culture and appreciate the gym etiquette compared to commercial gyms. The trainers are knowledgeable and kind.

Even when it's busy, it never feels overcrowded or overwhelming. The gym has lots of updated machines and equipment, and it's always clean and well-maintained. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. A special shoutout to Cassandra! She seems to know everyone by name, which really speaks to how dedicated and personable she is. She always takes the time to greet members and genuinely helps create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It would be great to see some newer equipment and additions like a Smith machine or hip thrust machine. My sister and I had an uncomfortable experience when we visited together. A trainer asked us to swipe in separately, assuming we were trying to share a membership. The way we were approached didn't feel very welcoming or respectful. It's also frustrating to see the owners opening a new Pilates studio while this location still needs updates. And honestly, for a women's-only gym, it's surprising there's no childcare option. I think that would make a big difference for many members. I prepaid for an annual membership and honestly unsure if I will renew when the time comes.

The no-class-time model is incredibly efficient for a busy schedule; I never have to stress about a clock, I just show up and get to work. What makes this place truly special, however, is the warm and inclusive atmosphere: A Personal Touch: From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by name. There is a genuine culture of kindness where members cheer each other on through every round. Celebrating Milestones: One of my favorite parts is how we celebrate each other's progress. Whether it's a 100-workout milestone or a 500-workout achievement, the trainers and members make sure your hard work is recognized. Expert Coaching: The trainers are the perfect blend of professional and encouraging. They provide expert technical guidance while ensuring you feel motivated to push past your limits.

After we came back with a buddy pass, he laughed in our faces. We were also never informed there was a $10 option to attend, which we would have happily paid. I'm originally from San Diego and there are plenty of gyms around my area. However, my sister did mentioned she lived in an older more suburban neighborhood. Unfortunately, I wanted more of a challenging HIIT class that you can find at Barrys or F45 (both of which are an hour away from here). With that being said, they do have TRX bands and assault bikes as well as a variety of weights. They also offer beverages between $1-$5. They were also nice to let you use the assault bikes before and after class. I was expecting more of an energetic and motivated crowd but it was more of a mellow crew of retirees and a preteen boy. It was definitely not what I expected in a bootcamp/HIIT class. Nevertheless, it was a great class albeit I felt like the only gym rat there. Earlier in the class, there was some confusion (partially because the trainer was also teaching people online) but he was able to modify some of the routine so most of us understood what to do. I never expected wanting to do more after a workout but this is a great class if you want to be challenged but not physically exhausted. I also recommend a voice amplifier and more prompts (i.e lift your arms above your head, etc) for the trainer as there was some confusion (maybe due to the music, his low tone or lack of prompts). Will visit again if I'm in the area as it's relatively close to where my family lives. Parking: Plaza Parking Recommendation: They have a first timer special - 3 classes for $50 that includes personal training but I would check online or in person to make sure that it's accurate. They also offer open gym to those with classpass!

He is always responsive and finds modifications so I can stay engaged the entire work out. I also find it more affordable than I expected. I don't do the group classes though they look great, it's a bit too advanced for me given my limitations. Being in there a few times a week, I watch the entire staff cultivate a warm, welcoming environment where you/they say hi to everyone who walks into the space. It's also very diverse. I'm talking both staff and members, culturally, age-wise, body types, genders--no one ever makes you feel you don't belong there.

Reached out to a email promo by someone there never responded and later remembered again to just email the website. I was diagnosed with heart failure causing parts of my body to swell up and gave me anxiety. To be honest gym membership was the least of my worries. Being a single mom worried and scared about my diagnosis left me putting more important things above all else and i really forgot about the membership. so i'm not going to bash a business for their lack of compassion but since they were selling it online like they cared about your health and well being, at least you can do is comp me for the paid in advance over $1k for a years membership. I'm not asking for a whole year but some sentiments along the line as we can help you with a few months since you weren't physically here in the gym to work out, would have gave me a better impression about the business. they said "you only got two months left so we froze for your future use unfortunately that's all we can do." It was almost like your well it's your fault you forgot when you found out you're dying, no compassion at all. Writing this as a reminder to those who are a bit forgetful. It's one of my preferred spots in the East Bay for the layout alone. However, the cleanliness is a major drawback. The carpets have clearly seen heavy foot traffic and are holding onto a noticeable odor--a good shampooing is overdue. More importantly, the mats are dirty; I found significant grit and grime on today before stretching(see photo). I always wipe down equipment before and after, but the level of buildup here is tough to ignore. With some better maintenance and floor care, this would easily be a 5-star gym.

Machines would stay broken forever, things weren't always the cleanest, and the vibe was just "meh." But recently, things have changed a lot. Ever since Anant took over as manager, the gym feels like a whole new place. Machines are getting fixed right away, the floors and equipment look cleaner, and there's even a new Pilates setup with classes. The protein shake/snack bar is open now too, which is a nice touch. One thing that really showed the difference: when that TikTok trend went viral and people started stealing the weight machine pins, the old City Sports probably would've just let it drag on. Instead, the staff got creative, found workarounds, and had replacements quickly. Problems aren't ignored anymore--they're solved. Overall, I'm really impressed with the turnaround. Credit to Anant for raising the standard. The gym feels cared for again, and it's honestly the best it's been in years.
