I've been coming here for three years and bought dozens of plants here, and driven up from Mandeville just to ask them questions about things. They're always helpful, if they're busy, just wait a minute and ask them, they're generous wIth their time, the owner has been super helpful and gone WAY out of his way to solve some problems with my roses. I really can't say enough about this place. And I would definitely rather give my money to a local business then to the big box, and people at the big box have no idea of plants and growing, they're just clicking on a barcode. I called & facebook messaged every nursery in town and up to an hour and a half away to try and find these special plants! The only nursery that replied back with a "We do have a hindu rope plant" was Wild Thymes! And to my surprise they were a mere 30 minutes from my house! I'd heard of Wild Thymes before, at a Covington Farmer's Market years ago my best friend and I had purchased air plants from them. Boy am I lucky that they invited me onto their property to buy some BEAUTIFUL and RARE plants! Not only is the property & greenhouse LUSH and WONDERFULLY GREEN, the owners are incredible and were SO MUCH FUN to talk with! I enjoyed every second of my time in their secret garden! They have an enormous collection of cactus, sanseveria, and quite a few begonias. There are plenty of different sizes to choose from, and they're all special plants, taken care of by people who truly love them. I love Redoux, as I can always find something unique to buy for myself or as a gift. Most gifts…read morethat I give come from this store. Lately I have found that the two ladies who work there are less than helpful or friendly. They act like you are bothering them. Also, Redoux always did free wrapping for you in a white bag with some tissue paper, nothing fancy. Now they charge 2.50 per gift. I totally understand that with the cost of supplies. I asked the lady with gray hair at the register if I could at least get the Redoux sticker to put on my own white gift bag and she told me it would be 2.50 for the small sticker. I explained I liked for the person to know that the store is wonderful so it might encourage them to shop there. I wasn't looking for a freebie but a way to advertise their business. Oh well, I will continue to shop there to support local, but the customer service could use some improvement.
