For golf courses, I'm usually not that impressed with the food. This one is different. Every effort is made on quality and service. I've had the salmon salad, shrimp salad and it's much better than average. Can't beat the view of the mountains either.

This review is just for the restaurant in the club house…read more A solid 4-stars for the food. 2.5 stars for the service. I had the tenderloin salad and I was quite impressed. The salad was loaded with nuts and cheese and the tenderloin was cooked perfectly. The salad had so much "stuff" in it that you could hardly even tell that there were any greens under it all. I also loved the dressing. The service was meh. There wasn't anything they did wrong, but for a higher end golf course I would have expected things to be a little more polished. I felt like I was at a Swiss Chalet for the level of service I received.

Terrible front 9....thanks to me…read more Yes, I am not a professional golfer. BUT I have played this course twice. There are 3 nines to play and I have played them all. Once in the summer and once in October. The place is maintained well, no real rushy rushy marshalls and a beautiful easy spot to get to for those from Calgary or Bragg Creek. Greens are in good condition, interesting tee shots on a few holes. Fees are standard.

It's definitely an old building, could use some renos, but it's pretty cool to see! They do extensive indoor training here. Quite a few golf simulators as well. You pay by how long you hit balls. So if you're fast, you will get a better bang for your buck. We had a beer, hit some balls, worked on our swing...nice outing (need to remember this place in the winter!). Just needs a bit of an overhaul. Oh! And really nice guy running the front!

The bartender greeted us warmly and we both ordered a glass of wine while perusing the menu. Considering we just finished dinner we landed on the meatballs and they were delicious. Service is very good as is the food here. It will be a struggle for them because they are off beaten path. The ambience is great and we look forward to heading back. Unfortunately if they go private the dining won't be open to the public and that would be a tragedy.

I'm visiting Calgary and friends who live here took me to dinner last night at the Glencoe Club…read more The restaurants is called Argyle kitchen, if I remember correctly. Many Calgary restaurants close on Mondays so the club turned out to be a great alternative. I have bad memories of mediocre food at clubs around the world. The don't seem to have enough business to keep creative chefs. The meal last night at Glencoe was excellent. One of my friends and I both had risotto with seafood. It was as good as any risotto I've eaten outside of Italy. The other friend had perfectly grilled salmon. It looked yummy. He ate every bite. The three of us split two desserts. Both were great. The service was very good. While the room was full, but the tables had enough that we could catch up with each other after 25 years. Everyone at Glencoe from the receptionist to the other patrons was very both friendly and helpful.
