I just started playing golf and needed some fundamentals in order to get my swings right. I got…read morethe Groupon for an 1hr swing lesson, sent an email to Bob, he set up an account for me, and I was signed up with Cinchai "Cheech" Chuvichien at The Lakes at El Segundo for a week later. Cheech's station is at the top left of the driving range, and he was all set up and ready to go when I arrived. Because I was new and didn't have my own clubs, he actually got a couple of women's clubs from the clubhouse so I can practice with those. Cheech used the video analysis on my stance, swings, and everything else, and I was able to see how I was lined up vs how I should be lined up, my swing movements, and my club placement. It was an hour but I was still getting so tired at the end from swinging, haha. I had a lot of fun and was able to consistently get a good ball contact and shot over half of my shots, so I was happy. I didn't sign up for any additional lessons because they are way to expensive for me, and I think I just need to keep on practicing and playing on my own and making sure that I'm hitting the ball correctly 90% of the time before I need further and more advanced instructions.

I bought a Groupon for this - 3 lessons ($99)…read more I managed to get my first lesson no problem. Then the issue came with trying to book my next lesson. I was instructed to email Bob. I sent him several messages and he failed to respond. All I got was a sales email back asking if I wanted to sign up for a lesson plan at really high prices (I think about $140 per hour). He was obviously overwhelmed with the Groupons. He should have set a limit. Also I expected some kind of communication back, whether it was a message saying he was busy and to contact him again in a couple of weeks. As I had started my lesson plan I at least expected some kind of preferential treatment over those who had not started yet. Anyhow Groupon refunded me when I explained the issue to them. Lesson wise, he started about 20 minutes late, but we still worked on and did the full hour and probably some more. The tips and pics taken were useful. However I did not like his instruction. I found him very cantankerous and flippant. He asked me questions and when I tried to answer, gave me smart ass responses. I certainly will not be going back again. There are so many other good (and cheaper) choices in the area - especially Zack Allen in Burbank.

Two teams were selected to play a finals match, how was not clear. Our team never played one of them and we only played a few points in a partial game against the other. If you're serious about improving your golf game, this is the place to go. Club Champion offers…read morepersonalized attention by trained and knowledgeable fitters and a seemingly endless selection of top-of-the line club-heads, shafts, and grips. Fitting is performed with Trackman, which provides accurate performance snapshots and helps determine the best equipment for your individual swing. At the end of the fitting session, you are provided with a detailed Trackman report, specifications for the club(s) that produced the best results, and other useful information, all in a nice professional package- a nice touch. My fitter, Joe Guerrero, welcomed me by name as soon as I arrived for my appointment. He asked me a little about my game and objectives and went to work right away. We tried several head and shaft combinations and Joe took the time to explain the different performance characteristics of each component. Throughout the fitting, Joe was genuinely friendly, encouraging, and enthusiastic about the positive results we were achieving. The experience at Club Champion doesn't compare to any big-box or superstore. The selection of equipment and personalized attention by qualified fitters is unparalleled. The fitters at Club Champion are specifically trained to interpret swing data from the Trackman and make recommendations to achieve your desired results. After my 90-minute fitting for a new driver, I gained an average of 23 yards and a tighter shot dispersion with the head and shaft combination recommended by my fitter. I returned the following day to purchase the recommended driver. When I arrived, I had a few questions about other head/shaft combinations. My fitter, Joe, understood and let me hit a few other combinations (without additional cost) and together we confirmed the initial recommendation was best- excellent customer service! If you're looking for a golf lesson, this isn't the place. If you're looking to improve your game with the assistance of qualified and friendly people using state-of-the-art equipment, go directly to Club Champion. The fitting is centered around your individual swing characteristics and the fitter makes no attempt to change them. The objective is to find the best club(s) for your swing-- and the results are guaranteed (seriously)! Prior to booking my appointment, I was hesitant to spend the money for a fitting. But afterward, I felt it was (and, is) well worth the price. The experience and the results were everything I hoped they would be. You will not be disappointed.

My two female friends and I attended a beginner tennis lesson with Glenn Muller. During the lesson,…read morehe made sexist and inappropriate comments. For example, he said, "Women don't listen" and "You are hitting like a girl." He then went into a metaphor about how he was the lion and we were the lionesses. He talked about how the lionesses go out and hunt and bring the food back to the lion. He kept saying how we needed to listen to the lion. He then stated, and I am quoting his exact words, "The lion can have sex with all of the lionesses, but the lioness can only have sex with one lion." I interrupted him before he could continue, and I was genuinely scared to know what he would have said if I had not interjected. I said "Please stop with the sexual comments. They are making me uncomfortable." He then told me that I do not get to tell him what he can and cannot say during his tennis lessons and that he "didn't make it up about the lions. It is just designed by God that way." I should have walked out of the lesson. Later, he said, "I was going to play this game, but I don't want to offend anyone," while looking directly at me. He told me during a previous lesson that another woman had said that he was touching her too much and that she felt uncomfortable. The way he told the story was very dismissive, as if the woman had overreacted. That should have been a red flag for me not to return. This experience has deterred my friends and me from taking classes with other coaches at this complex. It is concerning that the complex employs coaches like Glenn Muller. I am hesitant to return to the complex because I would be repulsed to run into him again. It is very clear that Glenn Muller should not continue as a tennis instructor, especially for women and young girls. His sexist comments, sexual metaphors, and degrading attitude should not be tolerated.

The stadium is a gem -- intimate and well-designed, so you're close to the action, unlike the massive venues at events like the US Open.
