This location is horrible ! Most of the staff is very inexperienced at sales... There are a couple good people but rarely working. I bought two sets of clubs and all the gear, cloths, carts and they didn't warranty my bag that's 7 months old and clearly a warranty issue, ripping where the cart straps are. I highly recommend a different golf store, Peak on 4th in Vancouver is way more profession and way way better customer service.... Never coming to golf town again. read more

I used to live right behind it and I had come once while I was starting working. Everything made me want to bring home and enjoy. 20 years have passed and a lot has changed. The only thing remains is that it is still a popular spot and still providing thousands of people hope, assistance and the joy of golf. I wish they had kept the swing analyzer and fitting suggestion. I did not see it today. I guess that is a managerial decision. Still love this place even though comparing with US' PGA Superstore or Golf Galaxy, it is a smaller shop, for us, it is still good enough to visit and to see the new clubs and accessories. This store has pretty much all one's golf needs in one shop. They have alot of the best gear but one will pay a pretty penny for most of it . I really like their selection of golf wear. Recently the discount sales seem to be not that great but i understand business in this industry can be tough to make a profit and pay all their wages. The staff have always been friendly and knowledgeable to me. i just was disappointed they didn't have their vast array of golf marker cap magnets they used to have before the renovation. read more

Bought a Taylormade sim2 max last week online. Arrived 2 days. Fast shipping! But, it's a damage product. Brought it to Richmond golf town to do an exchange; they said I need to wait 3-4weeks for replacement. I was happily try to get a new golf club, and need to wait for a month? Wait for fall is coming? Wait for the ground become wet? I think anything you bought in any store, if u received a damage product, they will do an exchange for u right away! It is my fault to pay money for a damage product? I didn't have much success with golf town Kelowna over the years until last month. my girlfriend and I went shopping for golf bags and I had taken back a BagBoy because of umbrella issues. Jamieson Ouellette was the most patient and honest man to serve us, explaining so much to us. Brandan Currie had put new grips on my clubs then he and Jamieson came together to explain about the BagBoy cart. This store is huge. It is literally a warehouse for golfers. A lot of selection for the golfer in you. This is likely the largest golf store around. They have everything from clubs, to shoes, bags, balls, gadgets and golf clothing as well. I don't need clubs any more since I have more than what I need, and getting new clubs won't help my game, however I still like to peek around. You can always test out clubs if you wish. A sales associate will tape the face of a club for you to demo. There is also a putting green for you to play with putters if you wish Too bad Riverside in Marpole is now closed. My husband received a gift card for his birthday, when he tried to use it at the Golf Town in Richmond, they said the number was not usable.  I phoned the customer service back east and was told to write an e-mail to gtecommerce@golftown.com Basically they said they could not honour the card.  They wanted me to get the receipt from my nephew, which would be embarrassing, basically asking him to find a receipt from 10 mos. ago!  I sent a photo of the number on the bar code, hoping they would be able to match it up to the gift card.  But they were unwilling to do so.  I guess Golf Town made the sale and that's all they were concerned with.  So basically too bad, so sad.  Needless to say we would never shop at Golf Town ever again. read more

How can a huge store like this with so much clothing only have 2 changing rooms?! had to wait for 5 min. on several occassions. Some good deals to be had, 50% on some golf shirts, I need that sweat-wick material lol. Didnt take a dab at the golf clubs, as Larry said in his review, won't help my game much haha. Lucky for me, i didn't have a push sales guy but was quite helpful and there when he saw me looking for him..think his name is Andrew. He did tell me an interesting tidbit...the best deal name brand wise is Nike, near the end of the golf season as they're more willing to unload than the traditional golf names. As a golfer, I dread going to here to get equipment, but there is no other place to get golf equipment from. Nevada Bob's doesn't count since it has been taken over by Sportschek, more that on my Nevada Bob's review. The staff, well what staff, they don't even acknowledge you're presence unless you're lining up to pay. They give bad advice to novice golfers, as they are on commission. 2 Star because I once got a free box of golf balls. Since there weren't any restrictions, I picked the most expensive one, Titleist Pro V1. read more

I bought a GPS Rangefinder. In order to use it correctly I had to register it with the manufacturer. The product performed poorly ---very inaccurate. I had hoped to return it---BUT Golf Town says it WILL NOT refund it. (3 days after purchase). No wonder their division went bankrupt in the USA! All the floor staff was fantastic. Surprisingly the asian manager with the ridiculous haircut that was covering for a coworker didn't have the time or make the effort to help a customer. Just kept staring at his screen instead with one word answers and showed zero interest in his job. read more

I came to pick up my clubs after getting them regripped and when I got home I realized they out on the wrong grip. I always use the lambkins grip with the cork lining and they installed the basic grip. I can understand their mistake. It was busy and the last day of the promotion. I'll bring the clubs back tomorrow and have them do it properly this time. Hopefully they don't charge me for this. That would be upsetting. So right now it's just three stars today for this review. Every time I pay a visit there, their staff have a way to make you feel unplesant. Last time I visit the Richmond store looking for a cart bag, I took out one that I am interested in to see if they have a place for the umbrella. A guy walk towards me to see if I need any help. After telling him I am okay, he started telling me not to touch the merchandise unless I am buying it due to the pandemic. Today, I went to the North Vancouver shop hoping that the staff will be more friendly. Most of their staff make you feel that they are scare to work because we are all viruses. Making things worse is when I checked out with 2 boxes of golf balls, they have to open each box to see if the balls inside are what it is labelled as and that you haven't sneeked in a couple roll of ProVs!!! I recommend that they should just close down the shop and ask their staff to stay home. It's a dangerous would after all!! read more

I've been shopping at this location since it opened and have spent literally thousands of dollars. But no more. The service has gone completely downhill and the staff lacks knowledge of just about everything. A friend of mine went in to buy clubs and service was so lousy that he took his business to the Morgan Crossing location. Plus, I know this is Richmond, but an all-Asian staff anytime I've been in there this year? Didn't use to be like that. I understand that having some staff with appropriate language skills is necessary and beneficial, but the entire staff? But regardless - lousy service + reduced inventory + increased prices = no more of my business. read more

I remember a time when older models would go down in prices the following years. Not anymore! They are going up now. Got some foot joy shoes 2 years ago @ 149$ regular price, when back in yesterday to get a new pair... the same shoes are on sale for 189$! I didn't think they were considered vintage collectibles?! It's the same issue with most of there stuff. You see a price on something, get to the cash... guess what... not the same price (and they won't even honor there own price tag, they just keep coming up with diff. excuses for the markup). I have never experienced worse service in my life. Every time I come here I have to flag someone down, at which point they are rarely helpful. It has heavy weight sizes only. I've purchased 2 Scotty Cameron putters there reluctantly. The store manager tried to talk me into taking a marked demo model because he was too lazy to check in back and order another one. My distaste for this place runs deep to maybe 8 separate situations. Usually Based on the fact that They have numerous staff on but Everyone ignores me because i dont fit their ideal demographic. A reasonably good place for anything golf related. They have fairly competitive pricing, and some deep discounts (30-60%) on brand new versions of previous year's models. They have a couple of practice rooms where you can try clubs, and they will regrip new or used clubs for you. There seems to be just as many salespeople as customers, and they're attentive to a fault (probably because they likely work on commission). My only real complaint is that the kid who was helping me kept trying to upsell everything, and offered me a "tip" while in the practice area. I'm not a great golfer, but I can play OK, and I don't really wanna take pointers from a kid while we stand in front of a big TV screen. Aside from that, this place stocks everything, so do your research online, and then go get it! read more

I bought a driver two weeks ago from the Richmond store and had to take it back for service. Given the size of the store and the number of staff, I couldn't find a staff who wanted to make eye contacts. At the pro shop, I mentioned to the staff that the head of the driver was loose and asked whether it's a common/known problem with this type of drivers. He never responded and grabbed the club, tightened the screw and handed it back to me without saying a word. He never even looked at me. I was shocked by his behavior so I asked if I did something to offend him and why was he being unfriendly. He finally looked at me and said "I helped you didn't I and you're suppose to say thank you". I brought this incident to the store manager and being a manager he apologized but it's safe to assume that the staff at the pro shop is obviously unhappy with his job but didn't have the courage to tell his boss or to quit and do something else that doesn't involve good customer service. Whatever bad day he was having he shouldn't be taking it out on others let alone customers. He hasn't a slightest clue on what professional behavior is. He should be fired unless management thinks he is trainable or condone such behavior. It's also safe to infer that he won't make leaps and bounds in his working career. Worse service ever! read more

Also regular and sale prices seldom marked. N one to probide service. Larger sizes at floor level- really- not at my age! Came in looking for an entry level set of clubs. It took me about 15 minutes to find someone who would help. When I did, he basically scoffed and suggested I try elsewhere. There WAS a set of beginner clubs there, but there was no price tag on them and he didn't seem interested in checking the price. Instead, he tried to get me to buy a pricey set of irons and then build a set from there. After I left, I went to the South Surrey location where they were more than happy to help me pick a set of clubs that fit my budget. If you are thinking of going to the Richmond location, don't. They are a waste of time and the store is a mess compared to the location in Surrey. read more

It's disappointing how bad their customer service has become. I've been buying equipment here for years but have seen things drop off. Just last weekend I went into the store to try out a new driver. The first person I spoke with didn't know about the products and then the second person was disinterested and condescending. I ended up just walking out of there without even swinging a club. I'd like to say that this Golf Town had bad service but I wouldn't know. I received absolutely no service whatsoever. The only time I was acknowledged was when I walked into the store and the girl working behind the cash register said hi. I went in prepared to spend a good chunk of money on some shoes and shorts/shirts, but not a single person paid any attention to the fact that I was the only person in the shoe section, trying on only the shoes that I could find that were my size. I eventually found a pair I would buy but decided not to buy them as a silent protest. I was pretty much the only person in the store and every time I looked around I just saw two or 3 of the guys standing around talking to each other, ignoring their duties. At one point I walked over to the clothing area and one of them looked like he was going to come up and ask if I needed any help but he basically glanced at me and then kept on walking. Good job Golf Town Richmond, you just lost yourself a very good customer because of your lack of service. Very disappointed!! read more
