    Receipt of purchase

Picked up a new purchase. Spent over $500 on two fairway woods. Went into the store to get them regripped. Still have the plastic on them. Went back to Brian in repairs. Brian was really rude. Don't recommend him. Take your clubs somewhere else. I know it doesn't take more than 5-10min PER CLUB, to cut grips off, new tape, even measure and cut shafts, solvent slide grip on and align. Instead of getting to work for a new purchase. He sat down at his chair and decided to go through his whole run down of how busy he was. Keep in mind. The time he took to sit down and argue with me. He could've been done. At this point I have spent $600 in the store. In the past month I've spent well over $1000 at that location alone. He alone is the reason I won't be going back to that location. Just turned a great experience spending A LOT of money and getting new gear, turned very bad experience very quickly.

Everytime I come to this store, I am absolutely so impressed by the superb customer service, knowledgeable expertise, and all the range of products to choose from; not to mention the equipment (golf clubs) to play with right before buying the whole kit and caboodle! Anyone who is anyone knows that golf can be uber expensive! Take advantage of the stores trades to shop in the store, coupons, and refurbished golf clubs to save some $$!

If you are a golfer, going to Golf Galaxy is like going to golfing heaven...but I'm really not a golfer. My husband and I are trying to start golf as a way to get more exercise. So, we got some gently used clubs (the guy had hundreds because golfers are always getting the new 'magic' clubs to play better!) but it seems there is always something else you can use. We only came to Golf Galaxy for golf towels (yes, they have a 'special' towel, hubs says, to hang on your bag to wipe clubs or balls (yea, I looked at him funny too). And he found "the book" that all golfers must read to play better (I'm still waiting for the Cliff Notes version). The coolest thing there was that you could try new clubs on putting greens or a practice range. They also have a virtual reality range to practice your swing. It did look like fun and I'm sure we will be back to try them. The staff is wonderful. They know the products and are so helpful. I definitely recommend Golf Galaxy. The only change they may need is a sitting area (like in the mall) so those coming with golfers have a place to sit! LOL!

Rob was nice and clearly knew his stuff, but I didn't feel I got the chance to try the clubs I wanted to because of the rush. I was asked to choose 2 from TaylorMade, Ping, or Callaway GI irons based on looks, and then we would try the shafts. I asked about trying the Titleist but was told they wouldn't be a good fit for me. We went through a few shafts; it seems like some of the standard choices weren't available, so we ended up with upgraded shafts. I ended up with the fitting documents and was told I had to purchase the clubs before I left, or the fee wouldn't be credited. To be fair to Rob, that's a company decision, not his, but I already felt rushed, and then, all of a sudden, I had to make a decision immediately while someone else was booked in and waiting for Rob. In the end I paid for the fitting, walked away, and booked another fitting elsewhere. In hindsight, I should have just picked up a wedge. The clubs I was fitted into at Golftec were at the bottom of my options. The other place gave me 2 months to order clubs and get the fitting fee credited. I've now ordered a full bag, and for the irons, the data told me the T350's were my best option. So I went with Titleist in the end.

I decided to dive in and get clubs. I called and spoke with someone and I feel like mostly they operate under the assumption that you have clubs already etc. I told them I didn't have clubs but would like to get some and get instruction. I still received an email instructing me to bring my clubs. Not a great sign, but alright. Perhaps, because I didn't arrive in goofy golf clothing or wasn't wearing a Rolex, I felt like I was sort of talked down to. When I mentioned I wanted to get clubs I was told I was booked for a lesson and not a fitting. I stated I would like instruction also. I could tell the guy helping me was growing frustrated at my lack of understanding but didn't really tell me why he couldn't evaluate or coach me and then tell me what sort of clubs to get. I decided that golf and it's environment isn't for me. Thanks but no thanks. I have a lot of other hobbies where I'm not made to feel like a jerk for being new.

I live in Southern California and drove all the way to Vegas just to get fit by Thomas here. I am a former athlete who has been golfing for about 2-3 years now. Going into this fitting, I was slightly worried I was not good enough to get fit for clubs yet. Despite this, I decided to get fit by Thomas anyway, seeing all the good reviews online. Boy, am I glad I decided to go through with it! Straight away, Thomas stopped me while I was getting warmed up and asked me a simple but important question "Are you going to improve your swing? Or is your current swing your swing and you're sticking with it?" I answered with still improving and explained that I have not received any instruction before. Thomas proceeded to analyse and give me a couple of drills to do during the fitting and work on after to address my issues. I was shocked at the immediate improvement in my shots, and I feel my fitting went so much better because of this advice! I am so happy he did this, as 3 weeks later I have just received my new clubs and have never been striking the ball better. The other part of this process that really stood out from the rest is the entire time I feel like Thomas was actively trying to save me money! There was absolutely no upcharging going on, and he thoroughly explained everything about all the different clubs and shafts, how there are shaft profiles at every price point, and basically everything I could hope to know. All my questions were answered completely. He has most, if not all, club manufacturers and will thoroughly explain everything you need to know about them. Another huge advantage of going to him vs other fitters. His opinion seemed uninfluenced, and he genuinely wanted me to get the best clubs for me in my budget. I went with Sub70 Tai111 CB Irons with KBS shafts, MCC grips, and BB&F Ferrules. They are gorgeous, and I cannot be happier with them. I cannot stress enough how much I recommend you get a fitting here with Thomas. I will be back for all the rest of my clubs. More Than 5 Stars

TL;DR - Club Champion has a predatory business model. Unless you are wanting to pay big bucks for…read moreoverpriced equipment, I would urge you to get fitted elsewhere. I am in the market for a new driver, as my current gamer is about 7 years old. I specifically chose this timeframe to get a new driver, as the major manufacturers recently announced their new year's model, and have discounted the previous year's model. The new model's aren't on shelves yet -- they are only taking pre-orders and expect shipping to occur the second week of February. My thought was I could get a good deal on one of the now discounted models, so I booked my Club Champion fitting. I have had multiple fittings for about every club in my bag over the past several years. I have gone through True Spec, previous home golf course, direct from manufacturer and Golf Galaxy. Thus, I pretty much know what to expect. I was immediately disappointed when I showed up to the fitting asking about certain models from the previous year that are now discounted, literally just as of this week. Supposedly, as soon as the manufacturers even announce a new product line, Club Champion gets rid of the previous years model and only starts fitting for the new model, which again, AREN'T EVEN IN STORES YET AND ARE CURRENTLY PRE-ORDER ONLY. That was a bummer, but I figured I'd already driven to the store so I might as well hit some drivers and get some data. They have a very brief conversation about what you're currently playing, and what you're looking for in a new club. They never asked what my price range would be. I warmed up with my current driver getting some baseline data on swing speed, ball speed, etc. I told the fitter I would be interested in Callaway (my current driver brand), Taylormade and Titleist as I have had good success with these club brands in the past. He immediately picked out one Callaway head and a Tour AD shaft and had me hit some. Their goal is to find the right shaft first, then hone in on the club head. I tried three different shafts, all of which felt "meh". I then advocated for trying the same brand of shaft that I'm currently using (Project X Hzrdus), since I was also previously fit for it and do find it to play well. So he grabbed two different models of that brand and I hit a few with both. Ultimately, we settled on the same shaft I have in my current gamer, albeit a newer version (Black Gen 5). I then basically had to ask for which club heads I wanted to try (as opposed to him using my data to come up with what he thought would be best, as most fitters do). I ended up hitting and liking a Titleist model the best, so we now had both the shaft and club ready to go. We then picked out a grip (same one I currently use) and he provided me with a final invoice. This is where things got infuriating. The quote for this driver was $820 before tax, $915 after tax. The breakdown was: $450 for driver head, $350 for shaft, $21 for grip. Despite Titleist not having recently announced a new model, the driver head was put on sale to match Taylormade and Callaway's discount of their previous year's models. However, the shaft I wanted is a stock offering from Titleist and available at no additional cost when ordered directly from the manufacturer. I pointed this out to my fitter when questioning why it would cost $350 if ordered from Club Champion. To which his response was something like "Well our shafts are tour spec'd and come with pureing." If you haven't heard of shaft pureing, it is purely a marketing gimmick with no benefit to the average golfer. I told him I did not want the pureing thinking it would lower the cost. He said it would only drop the cost by about $50, and the shaft would still cost ~$300. Again, I asked why I would pay an exorbitant amount through them when I could get the EXACT SAME SHAFT from Titleist at no additional cost. On top of this, the EXACT SAME GRIP only costs $12 through Titleist. He was unable to give me an explanation, so I promptly said I appreciated his time, but would only be paying for the cost of the fitting and then order the driver directly through Titleist. The fitting fee for a driver was $175. To get fitted from Golf Galaxy, it costs $79. In hindsight, I should've gone to Golf Galaxy as they have the same trackman data provided by Club Champion. With a little self-directed research, you can learn what to look for in a club head and shaft to optimize things like club head speed, ball speed and spin rate, and effectively guide yourself through your own fitting. Side note: during the fitting, my fitter was fumbling through just about everything. He had a hard time working the trackman software -- tagging the wrong clubs and unable to show shot dispersion or impact location at certain times. He also fumbled with the equipment, accidentally adding loft and adjusting lie angle when switching heads when I specifically told him at the beginning I wanted everything to stay neutral.
