You definitely do NOT want to go here…read more While the machines and equipment are nice the cleanliness of the place is disgusting. Bugs in the men's showers. Broken Drain in the shower that could cut someone's foot. Urine colored water every 3 days in the hot tub. 30-40 signs around the gym telling you what not to do. Tacky as Hell. Front Desk personnel that just sit on their butts. 2 showers that are out of order for at least over a year and still are. A parking lot that has more pot holes then you can count. A smoothie area that isn't bringing in the $ that they hoped for. There are much better gyms in the area. Avoid this place at all costs.

While soaking in front of a huge glass window in the hot tub, you can actually see the bald eagles nesting in the trees on the other side of the Illinois River! But that's about it. The place is being run by idiots, all on the city payroll -- usually guys wearing tight body shirts who spend most of their time working out on the machines while giving scant attention to the "problems" all around them. The workout machine area overlooking all of this is virtually deserted with no supervision and no customers, particularly in the evening hours after work (one has to wonder why?). This encourages pilfering and chronic theft in the locker areas, among other things. Then a white school bus arrives and unloads various people on a hot summer day, who stand around talking to each other in the Olympic-size pool, thus preventing anyone from swimming laps until after they and their white bus leave two hours later. If one tries to complain, a guy in a tight body shirt comes over to tell you your behavior is not acceptable. Meanwhile, the people off the bus could be drowning from no supervision for all he knows because, up to then, he and his "crew" are busy talking to various types about tomorrow's big game at the events center! It is a big political operation to keep everyone happy during the summer heat and the drop-dead months of cold winter, so they will not throw rocks or steal hubcaps (as well as cars parked nearby) due to the lack of personal safety on the streets around the place --which has been funded by tax monies -- that is from those who pay taxes. Somebody made a lot of money building this place. Then they use it to stick it to the taxpaying citizens to keep some people "happy" who are "needy" and unhappy for whatever reasons. But watch for Mr. Body T. Shirt to run for mayor next time around, since he knows how to make the big shots with the real money happy.

After several months of harassment by another member, we escalated…read morethe case to the building level management who informed us they had no instrument at their disposal to enforce the code of conduct they expect of their members, and that we should just ignore the intimidation of the other member. We hate to leave this place, particularly because of the relationships that we have formed with so many good people here, but the dereliction of the duty of care by management is just unacceptable and morally questionable. I hate to say it, but you'd be safer going somewhere that values member safety over money.

I'm gonna have to give it up to this location. They have almost everything you would need in a gym-…read moreminus the bench press and a track to run on. Having a pool is great and all but for me, I never used the pool at my other gyms when they had them. There aren't any classes here but to make up for that, there is a 30 minute express workout area located in the back of the gym. I've personally never tried it but from what I saw, it had a nice layout of machines targeting different areas of the body all in the 30 minute span. There are 2 types of memberships here. 10$ and 20$ a month. 10$ gets you in that specific location that you signed up at, anytime you want. That's about it. The 20$ membership(also known as the black card) includes a heck of a lot more. One of the best perks is being able to utilize any PF location nationwide! Some others includes: unlimited access to their tanning beds(once a day for health reasons of course), hydro-massage tables(this is a MUST DO after every workout for me), total body enhancement(look this up if you don't know what it does), massage chairs, 50% off on all drinks... Oh, and you're able to bring in 1 guest with you every time you come(black card members only). The locker rooms have lockers for daily use(bring your own locks) as well as shower stalls. All of the equipment are in very good shape, and the place looks pretty clean. If you are unsure how a machine works, or need fitness advice--- ask the front desk and someone will help you. The staff here at night aren't super talkative but they get the job done. I also asked for permission from a gentleman up front to take pictures for this review, and he happily agreed(although the girl behind him said something that I still am not sure of, maybe that it's not allowed or that no one has asked that before) :-) I've been to many PF locations all over Orlando and other cities in Florida, but this one seems the biggest and cleanest to me. BTW, I only come here at night(after 9pm) and the gym is not overcrowded whatsoever. There's rarely a wait on any machines, but if there is..it would be for just a few minutes max as opposed to Gold's gym where I've waited up to 15 minutes for a machine before. I can safely say this is a great gym and I would recommend anyone in the area to come and join up here.

Meet Kyle, he is the main man at the desk, more than willing to give you a tour or a training session! There are 1/2 a dozen treadmills, stationary bikes, olipticals, precores with a few extra special cardio machines; octane and rowers. Not to mention the other 2/3 of the gym with weights. Machines and free weights (all the muscle men too). There is also a large center that's carpeted for stretching, yoga and a few evening a week there is an aerobics class. Extras: Complimentary coffee, child care area (uncertain of the cost) locker rooms with lockers, bathrooms and 3 shower stalls plus a scale. Main gym has mostly mirrors around the permeter; with many flat screen TVs with Direct TV (no Sunday ticket) but the remotes are scattered around the machines to change the channel as you like. They have water fountains, plus sell Hinkely bottled water for one dollar. There is also an assortment of weight-training GNC type products to buy. Did I mention that it's open 24/7? With your key card, it's never too late for a jog. Prices are reasonable too; $50/mon for a 3 mon trail contract or $50 start up fee and $20/mon for a year. There are other options.... But you will need Kyle for that info. Long story short- its a gym. A typical gym but with friendly, personable staff with above average equipment. Fair warning; as any gym it's the most crowded Mon-Wed 5-7 pm, with it tapering off Thur-Sunday at various times.

What I particularly love is the "CrossFit" area in the back. It has absolutely everything you need for Olympic lifting (bars, bumper plates) and tons of stuff for the high intensity workouts. It was only 5 bucks to drop in for the day. Wish I had this gym where I live in Kansas I would be there everyday. The manager (maybe owner?) who was working when I went was very nice and welcoming. Five stars!
