They have a large variety of plate weighted equipment, as well as cable equipment. It's always in good shape and working condition.

I came in yesterday as I am traveling. It's a decent gym I wouldn't say 100% clean. I get a check in from the new guy he fumbles around but makes it work. I drive 17 minutes to get here. He states that I can use the pass up until the time I arrived the next day. I drive 17 minutes this morning and the lady at the counter looks up and says no he was wrong it's another $15. This is poor training and poor management. Make it right with a customer. I won't ever step foot in a Golds gym again. read more

I travel to Idaho Falls monthly and as an Ironman triathlete train year round, it serves a great purpose for me to get my swims in as well as using the spin bike and weight room for my bike and strength disciplines. Treadmills are great, especially the new ones which I use in the winter months, in the spring through fall I run outside. Love that it opens at 4am so I can get an early workout in before work or my flight home. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, definitely worth the $29.99 I spend each month for the week I spend in Idaho each month. read more

I have been with the gym for a year. it is kept clean and the people are friendly. I do use a Personal Trainer, Ricky, he is great!!! Ricky is very adaptive to my physical disabilities and I have grown stronger. The gym cost is a little high, but it has the amenities that my husband and I were looking for. read more

Worst customer service from the person in charge Angie. She is not the face you want representing you. She was very discourteous, called my daughter a liar. Would definitely not recommend this gym to anyone. There are so many other choices you have in Idaho Falls. The way you treat your customers is so important, even when they have decided to end their contract with you. read more

I haven't been going to this Gold's Gym for very long, but I have been to others and this gym is by the best I used. They have tons of different equipment, great classes, my kids LOVE the childcare and it is super clean! For the amazing price you really can't beat it! read more

I did a drop in while on vacation because I have an unhealthy addiction to to weightlifting. Hehe. Check in was fast and the staff was friendly. Drop in was only $10 and it was good until midnight. So if I wanted a two a day session, that would have worked. That's pretty cool. I've never been to a Golds so I'm not too familiar with the basics of each facility. This gym was huge. They could have easily fit more equipment in there, which I think they should. I only saw 3 benches and only one was not an adjustable incline. The incline benches are too tall for me, so I'm glad no one was using the one I needed. Pulleys and free weights we're in great shape, not battered. I appreciated having solid benches. Some places I go to are wiggly and it makes for an interesting inclinded overhead press. Anywho.... Thanks for being there Gold's and thanks for the easy and cheap dropping in! Next time in town I'll stop in. It's good to know there's options when you don't want to take time off from training. read more

I was only visiting Idaho Falls for Christmas break, but I definitely was pleasantly surprised by this Gold's Gym. They were super cool about me visiting and let me use the facilities without any fees. Friendly and chill staff. This location is bigger than I expected. The free weight area is a little small, but there's great cardio equipment, plenty of cables/smith machines, and even a cross-fit type room. I didn't use the pool or racquetball courts, but they looked fine. Locker room was clean. I would definitely go to this gym if I lived in Idaho Falls, but will definitely come back whenever I visit family. read more

This gym is the worst! The employees are terribly informed on policies and agree to anything when you are signing up, but as soon as you go to use parts of your membership for add ons you get charged for it even though it was supposed to be covered on your plan or punch pass. Not to mention their hours, machine availability and buddy passes have all changed for the worst in the last year. I understand that COVID-19 affected how businesses have to operate, but it's a year later and the 24 hr weekdays that is still advertised on their doors is no where near coming back. Even though the adjusted hours creates an overcrowded gym where it is impossible to keep 6 ft distance. They are taking advantage of COVID-19, so they don't have to hire a night staff. Their buddy passes have tripled in price, so if I wanted to have a friend come for one day to work out with me it is $15, instead of the $5 when I signed up. Please save yourself the headache this gym is not worth it. They also continue to charge us even though our membership was supposed to be up, and an employee told us they have no re accruing payments. When I cancelled to get rid of the re accruing payments they are still charging us for an additional month. Watch out, this gym is crooked! read more

I've been going to this Gold's off and on over the last 3 years. 3 main points I want to touch on that make this a great gym. 1. Environment- when looking for a gym, this is a big deal for me. I want to be surrounded by good, friendly people, and this environment certainly provides that. 2. Equipment/Cleanliness- to preface this, I want to mention how much better the facility has become since Daniel, the new operations manager, has taken over. Before Daniel, nothing ever got replaced when it broke, and they consistently made promises they never followed through on. Daniel has since changed that, and they've done a pretty dang good job on replacing broken equipment (or at least fixing it), as well as bringing in some newer nicer stuff which has been great. Cleanliness and organization could certainly be better, but some of that falls on us members for not re-racking weights and so forth. I do however wish they would clean the showers more often, and in a dream situation they would put in a fan so the whole locker room doesn't get Stanley Steamed so frequently. 3. Employees- some are certainly friendlier than others, and you would hope their sales people would be the friendliest (seeing how building relationships with current members and getting referrals would seemingly be a good approach to up their production), but overall most of them are very friendly. I love a gym that knows you by name and logs you in without you having to walk your lazy butt over there to scan your tag, and most of the front desk people do a great job at that. In conclusion, the only thing keeping this gym from 5 star quality is cleanliness, primarily in the bathroom, perhaps implementing some fans and being a little quicker to replace broken stuff, and then particularly the salespeople to be a little more interactive with current members. read more

I never write negative reviews. I very rarely get angry or upset, but Gold's Gym in Ammon has upset me greatly. On Wednesday, June 19th I canceled my membership to Gold's Gym. I am an avid swimmer and spend 2 days a week lap swimming in the facility's 3-lane lap pool. In general, it's usually just me and maybe one other person in the pool at the times that I go. I start around 2 and finish usually around 3 (if I'm on track). 54 minutes into my set on Wednesday a woman kindly asked that myself and the woman in the next lane leave the pool because swim lessons were starting and she needed to set up. It was about 3:10 pm. I was surprised, as this had never happened before. I have been swimming at this time sometimes spilling over into 3 pm multiple times since the start of swim lessons and staying in a lane had never been a problem before. Usually, parents and kids come around 3 pm and instructors start at 3:15 pm in the rightmost lane, leaving the other two lanes designated as lap swim lanes. I'm definitely a non-confrontational kind of person, so even though I was just (1) 200 from finishing my set, I left the pool. The woman in the lane next to me was frustrated asked if we could just stay in one lane as had been the protocol before because she had just started her swim ~10 minutes before. The swim coach stated that she needed all of the lanes to get a platform in the pool and this time was designated for swim lessons. I love kids and I have taught swim lessons to kids in the past, I think it is very important to teach kids water safety and how to swim adequately. Swim lessons were not 'the problem'. Ousting paying members from gym facility for children's swim lessons is 'the problem'. This is not a community rec pool. There's no lifeguard on duty. Gold's Gym, in general, is for adults 16+. This wasn't a problem when the lessons didn't monopolize the whole pool but now that they do, going from 3-5:30 pm M-Th, it's a problem. I have a unique work schedule so sometimes I can go whenever, but anyone who gets off work typically between 4-5pm will have a problem getting in a swim. When I canceled my membership and relayed to the team member that it was rude to close all lap swim lanes for swim lessons when this is not a recreation pool he did not respond at all, didn't care that myself and the other swimmer were disgruntled. I get the sense that none of the staff swim or have any understanding of pool etiquette. The pool is always disgusting. Salty, floating pieces of fuzz and hair, balls of fuzz at the bottom and just a general stink around the outer part. But I dealt with this because I thought it was the only place to swim. The Wednesday incident was the last straw; I can't deal with a swampy pool and limited hours anymore. read more

DO NOT go to this Gold's Gym. Unless you don't mind an unhelpful staff, who takes your money and wrongfully charges you. The gym itself is nice, but the people are not. It is clear that not everyone is on the same page, and you get different answers form different people. Don't waste your money. Go somewhere with a better staff and gym. read more
