I think they had the piece of land already that they were going to build on, but after years and years of getting updates from them about progress, it was so surreal for this to finally open last year in 2024! DPFC is an absolute haven for whenever I'm in Detroit and looking to pick up some goodies! Both "standard" goods and goods that are more unique, small-business oriented, and just off the beaten path slightly! They offer so much, the space is so massive, and their prices are competitive! I shop here as often as I can and I encourage everyone in the Detroit area and those visiting Detroit to make this your #1 spot for community-oriented, intentional grocery shopping and then some! Household goods, toiletries, etc. can all be found here! Check it out and thank me later! DPFC is the place to be!

Wow, where to start!? We were totally unprepared for the experience of visiting the New Palace…read moreBakery. Wall to wall and floor to ceiling baked goods. Cookies, breads, pies, cakes, baklava, paczkis, and more! Just mesmerizing. We got there on a Friday, day before Valentine's, a week away from Fat Tuesday, around 11:00 AM, and we still had to wait in line. So be prepared to wait, this place is very popular, but it will be worth it. We actually went just for authentic Paczki, but ended up with loaves of challah, Russian rye and marbled rye breads. Wish we could have bought more, but I'm currently cutting back on sweets and knew I needed to exercise self control, lol. Best paczki ever! Got home and cut them into quarters so I could try them all! Cookie butter cream and cinnacream were new flavors for 2026, and I loved them, though cinnacream slightly tastier than the cookie butter cream. The blueberry, raspberry, double chocolate and strawberry were all scrumptious! Will edit after we get to the breads, but no room left at the inn! So happy with the paczkis, worth the drive and wait!

I stopped in for some pączki and was not disappointed--pillowy soft and filled to the brim with flavor. You can tell everything is made with care, and the variety of fillings makes it hard to choose just one (so don't--get a few)! Beyond the pączki, they offer a huge selection of baked goods--everything from cookies to cakes to traditional Polish treats. It's the kind of place where you walk in for one thing and walk out with a full box. The staff was friendly and efficient, even with the steady stream of customers. Whether it's Pączki Day or just a regular craving, this spot is absolutely worth the visit!
