This place has only been opened for about a month, and I haven't been to AYCE (All you can eat) in a while , so I was so excited to try this place. The outside looks plain, but the inside was nice, modern and very hip (see pics). I was so mesmerized. They have a sushi bar area, Mongolian station, fresh slad, soup, desserts and fruit stand. I found our experience to be subpar. There's plenty of seating so not having to wait was lovely. The buffet is typical: chicken varieties, beef varieties, noodles and rice. We had to try the new buffet on Broad Street. We went on Father's Day and left after we learned the wait was over an hour. Decided to try again on July 3rd and although it was full, there was no wait. The buffet has lots of soup options which I passed on this time due to the 100 degree weather outside. There were the usual options you see in a buffet. I went for the sushi first and it was good. They had a lot of options. Next, I tried a few more seafood dishes and it was fresh and had great flavor. I noticed the crawfish was going fast and what looked like a seafood boil: clam, shrimp, corn, sausages. I can see this being a cheaper option than going to a seafood boil restaurant. I was disappointed there were no crab legs. That's what stood out in comparison to other buffets in the area. There was a cook to order pho station which I skipped, but it looked like they had a lot of things to pick from. The dessert option were more than the usual including lots of fruits and several ice creams. This is what I noticed: 1. The hostess in the front was polite and sat us quickly. 2. Our waiter was quick to remove our empty plates and refill drinks. 3. The employees were constantly refilling the food. 4. The decor was modern and tastefully decorated. 5. The place was very clean. Walked in and was seated quickly on a friday evening. There was alot of food options to choose from. Loved the look but the tables are packed a little tight. They came often to remove the dirty dishes. They only have fountain drinks, coke products, no alcohol, beer or wine. If you want frozen treats, they are extra. It seems like there was more thought put into the inside aesthetics and maximizing seating than there was food, comfort and flow of the experience. I've had better experience at hotel breakfast. Cramp is an understatement because not only is it hard to get around the buffet stations, but the both seatings and the table placement makes it hard to get in and out of your seat and hard to walk back to your table. When there's a lot of people the place gets hot, when it's hot outside, the place gets hot. Food was above average, the sushi had a little off taste and the desserts were what you typically find at Asian buffets. Surprisingly the pho was better than most buffets. We recently went to Golden Unicorn and were pleasantly surprised. Our experience was great and didn't have any of the negatives of previous reviews. The service was courteous and quick, the food was tasty and reasonably priced, and we would recommend it! There was a good variety of options, including multiple sushis, a Pho station (which is super unusual and great!) and a mongolian grill station as well. I loved the fried chicken wings, BBQ ribs and BBQ chicken. In terms of service, the buffet and tables were very clean, and servers were always available. Overall, there is clear attention to ambiance despite prices being very fair! A couple of quirks: the layout of the buffet is a bit unusual - not really parallel stations but more like a pathway. But there is enough space to move around. Soy sauce and others are not available at your table but rather at a station. Given how few good buffets there are in Richmond, we were delighted to see Golden Unicorn as a new entrant. We will definitely come again! read more

The waiters and waitresses were kind and attentive. The food was very mid. They have potential to be amazing , but honestly the food was not that great. The food and ambiance was amazing, but the service at this new buffet was completely unprofessional. While we were dining, the staffs stood right behind our table chatting loudly, which felt very disruptive. To make things worse, after our group of 3 paid the bill, the old lady around 42-60s with a shoulder haired employee bussing tables loudly shamed us in front of the entire dining room, complaining that our tip wasn't enough and she demand higher tip. They actually dont deserved tip because of the poor service, loud chatting and discomfort noise. We gave good tips when we're happy and satisfied on the service like other restaurants we dined. In here Publicly embarrassing paying customers over a voluntary tip is unacceptable. We walked out feeling humiliated and will never return. This is a place I will never visit again because if bad customer service. The service is bad the only time my waitress spoke to me is to bring my check and got mad because I didn't leave a tip. They didn't offer any refills to my drink. They are more focused on getting people in the place but don't try to keep the ones that are inside happy. They are also focused on making sure you don't stay more than two hours. The place also has flies inside. I had to swat them from my table while I was eating. The food was not that good. they served boiled crabs, boiled shrimp and snow crab legs. The problem is the put all three items in the same pan so if I am allergic to shrimp I can't eat any of the crabs. That's also a form of cross contamination. read more

Walked in to a minimal wait which, with two kids, was great. Sat and offered our drink order and just assumed we get up and help ourselves as there was no real instruction. We got to the buffet and multiple items were out of stock. My kids had one slice of pizza and some fries. I had a few pieces of sushi (which were horrible) and some fruit which was also never restocked. My spouse had maybe, a generous maybe, half a plate of food. Dessert was a popsicle for the kids. No refills, no service (even though we were sat right in front of the waitstation) and after multiple attempts going back to empty containers we decided to leave. I immediately contacted the restaurant on their social media page. It has been ignored. I sent an email... also ignored. Now I call. I spoke to the person that represented themselves as the manager and was offered 20 % off my next meal. That's it. She didn't apologize for the horrible experience... the lack of food... the nonexistent service.... nothing. If we want to come back she'll give us what wouldn't be the equivalency of one meal. The food that was eaten was mediocre at best. The sushi LOOKED good but was grainy and not tasty at all. It was a horrible experience followed up by horrible customer service. Fruit and other self serve items like the classic buffet style. We showed up at 11:06. Six minutes after doors had opened. Already lots of patrons inside eating. Food had just been put out. Fresh. I don't need to hear 2 different Imagine Dragons songs in that short of a time. & Ive seen them before in concert good show. The lights and vibe were nice but just didn't seem to fit the environment. My partner and I had seen so many TikToks hyping this place up before dining here, so we were expecting a lot more, but overall the food was pretty basic. There also weren't many vegetarian or vegan options, so this spot is definitely better suited for people who primarily eat meat. The steamed crab legs, lo mein, fried frog legs, crab rangoons, Chinese donuts, crab casserole, and the fruit bar/desserts were all really good. However, most of the other dishes could have used more seasoning and flavor. We also felt like there could have been a better variety of food, especially considering it's an AYCE spot. If you're thinking about checking this place out, I'd recommend going in with realistic expectations rather than believing all the social media hype. That said, the restaurant was very cute, clean, and well-maintained, and every staff member we interacted with was kind and welcoming.
