My goal during this session was to become more vulnerable and allow someone into my space. After our time together, I can definitely say I'm not the same woman I was when I entered into that session. When the therapist asked me how the massage went, I told her it was uncomfortable and thanked her for her time. Upon leaving, I went by the front desk. I workout and historically I'm bad at stretching which leads to tight muscles. I also hold stress in my neck/shoulders and have lower back pain. Without me even having to state any of this, Ruby was able to tell this herself. She loosened up YEARS worth of tension and shared how certain parts of the body were connected to others and that's why I was experiencing pain/tightness in those areas. I was definitely sore for several days afterwards, but I also felt looser and lighter than I have before - even after other massages I've had at other places. Ruby is no nonsense and tells it like it is - and that's exactly what I need and what I was looking for. This is my second massage with Ruby, with my third one already booked and I convinced my sister to book one as well. Reservations: Marietta Massage does not take walk-ins. You have to call (not able to book online) to make an appointment. Parking: Marietta Massage has 2 dedicated parking spots (92, 93) in the paid lot right next to their building. It's free to park there during your appointment so don't pay at the meter!

Before she starts, she takes the time to ask about your specific trouble spots and problem areas so she can tailor the session entirely to what you need. Just a warning, though: DO NOT go see her if you are looking for a relaxing, gentle, spa-style massage, because that is simply NOT what she does. She means business. You will likely leave there feeling a bit sore afterward, but finally getting all of those painful knots worked out is an incredible feeling of relief.

I was really looking forward to trying this massage place because of all the great reviews I had…read moreread, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I really liked that they allow you to choose the areas you want the therapist to focus on. Since I spend a lot of time typing, I specifically circle my shoulders. Because I also drive frequently and spend a lot of time sitting in traffic, I circle my glutes/buttocks, which tend to get very tight. I had Jennifer, and unfortunately, I felt that she spent very little time addressing the areas I specifically requested. Out of the 60-minute massage, I would say only about 15 minutes total were spent focusing on my problem areas. Much of the massage consisted of her using her arm to roll over my back, which didn't really provide the targeted pressure or relief I was hoping for. I also requested a medium deep tissue massage, but the experience felt more like a light Swedish massage. At one point, she placed a hot stone on me without warning. It was extremely hot and startled me enough to jump, so she ended up stopping the hot stone portion altogether. When she had me turn over, she also spent some time massaging my head, but unfortunately, I didn't find it particularly relaxing. I normally get Thai massages and have had much better experiences, especially when it comes to therapists listening to the areas that need the most attention and adjusting the pressure accordingly. My friend had Tina during the same visit and had a completely different experience. He requested a firm massage, and Tina did an excellent job focusing on his problem areas and providing the pressure he asked for. His experience was much more in line with what I was hoping for. That being said, I still tipped Jennifer 20% because I appreciate the time and effort she put into providing the service. However, based on my personal experience, this would unfortunately be near the bottom of my list when choosing a massage place. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively. I came in with high expectations because of the positive reviews, and I would have really appreciated a massage that was more customized to the areas and pressure I specifically requested.
