We started having issues many times with their fried rice two years ago, tasting very sour rotten. They told us that's normal it's the soy sauce. We began ordering it with light soy, and haven't had a problem anymore. We did have to quit ordering anything with shrimp in it due to getting shrimp that were rotten tasting . Today we ordered two lunch menu beef pepper steaks, and one lunch menu teriyaki chicken . The pepper steak was terrible, both of them and the teriyaki chicken was absolutely not teriyaki sauce. It was some type of a bright red really nasty sweet sauce and it was battered and fried I never had teriyaki chicken that way. I told her this is not teriyaki chicken. This is not teriyaki sauce and she said our teriyaki sauce is different from anyone else's anywhere you've never had any like ours . Yeah that's because it's not teriyaki sauce. I've also noticed many times the bill way way higher than it should've been. Today our bill should have been $37.85 pre tax but was $50.05! And my husband has always been an over tipper so she's always been tipped extremely well. I checked every item and added it up, then confronted the waitress we were over charged $12.20 for 3 lunch meals. She said we were charged an extra.$2.50 to leave the vegetables out of my son's $8 (lunch special) beef pepper steak. Then she said we were charged $2 per person for light soy and egg in the fried rice that is included in the lunch meal. Egg is included in fried rice we never ask for any extra. She made up charges to add to our meal to get an extra $12.20 out of us. Another guy at the table across from us said as he was walking out that he felt he had been way overcharged for his two meals, and was wondering the same thing. They just lost two customers.

I told my guy it was HIS turn to plan a "food night". We both have been craving Chinese for a few…read moredays. We also needed to do our laundry, there's our dinner spot had to be in the area of our laundry mat. Prerequisites: He looked for a menu, and the golden rule: if you look at Google pictures and there are NO Chinese people posting pictures, it's NOT legit food. A to Z Grocery and Chinese Food reminded me of the family owned establishments I'd visit when abroad. You could go to a restaurant, but the real deal would be in the back of a corner "everything" shop. What to expect: A small hole in the wall place with everything you need, even a slot machine in the back. The place had a steady stream of people coming in to get whatever they needed from cigarettes to chips and baking soda. They even make "American Food" hamburgers, fries, etc. This was straight up in the middle of nowhere, and looked kinda busted from outside. Okaaaay, I'm down 100%! We walked in to two white folding tables in the center of a small "everything" market. I knew I was in the right place. I asked the young man at the checkout counter, "are you still serving food?" It was 15 minutes before closing. Yes! I ordered the sweet & sour chicken and Crab Rangoons. (Safe rarely disappointing meal.) 2 minutes later I hear the fryer in the back being slayed over. Noice! Cooked to order. I asked if they had any rooster sauce for sale - my mission to find some after they factory stopped making it over a year ago is real. #facts The young man didn't know what rooster sauce was, but his family member came out with a BIG jar and knew what I was referring to. Those who know, KNOW! HIM:"They don't sell this anymore" ME: "I know!" None for sale, but they gave me a to-go cup full. Awe, how nice! Perfect for my corn beef hash Filipino style I planned to make for my Friday meal. The food came out SUPER hot! FYI this is "American" Chinese food, not the food you'd find in mainland China. I don't think my guy would eat that TBH. Unless it's duck. We got exactly what we were looking for: Hot, fresh, family owned, everything market food. They were closing a few minutes after we were served (9pm). The young man said we can eat, he "wouldn't mind staying after closing". I loved that. Left him a tip just for that. This will be our regular laundry night in Cornelia food spot. The drive to it is off the road - which is something we gravitate toward. Adventure time! I highly recommend A to Z Grocery and Chinese Food if you want quick & fresh American Style Chinese food. REASONS TO VISIT: 1.Reasonable prices 2. Great service 3. Family owned 4. Full menu 5. Decent flavors 6. Legit Chinese corner everything store ambiance

Unfortunately, this restaurant was not even close to quality Chinese food. I ordered the general Tsos chicken with an egg roll, crab Rangoon, and hot and sour soup. I've never seen chunks of pineapple in general Tsos chicken before. Every restaurant I've had this dish at normally serves it with steamed broccoli florettes. the crab Rangoon's were flat instead of the normal crown shape that I'm used to. The hot and sour soup was decent. The side I ordered was fried rice, but all it was was rice in soy sauce. This rice was never even near a wok for frying. After the waitress dropped off our food, we never saw her again. If I lived full-time in this area, I would never go back.
