ABSOLUTELY THE BEST MOVING COMPANY I HAVE EVER USED!! I have moved numerous times throughout my life and have never had an experience that I considered excellent...until now! Moving from Florida to a remote area in Alabama seemed daunting to me however, I spoke to Jeremy, he put me at ease, gave me a fair quote and we secured the move. Jeremy was kind, professional and very understanding. Day of the move: Dwayne and his crew showed up, went over everything very professionally and the respect and care they provided to me and my property was simply unsurpassed. They were extremely careful and wrapped everything with detail and precision. Upon delivery to Alabama, Josh arrived with one of his crew and the entire process was smooth, efficient, professional, friendly and helpful. Josh is the owner and it is clear that he runs his company with clear morals, ethics and a clear expectation of kindness, respect and making sure the customers are well pleased and satisfied. He was thorough, went through all the details, explained everything and most importantly, he put me at ease during a time that was extremely difficult for me both personally and professionally. I honestly can't find the words to express how pleased I am. I am very thankful to Josh, Jeremy, Dwayne and the entire team. Thank you so much for making this so easy and for all your kindness! If you are reading this and looking for a moving company, you will be completely satisfied, relieved and glad you chose to go with Golden Movers. I highly recommend them and I easily give them a 10 on a scale of 10. Frankly, they were better than a 10! read more

Top quality company with great communication. I had an issue moving office furniture and needed some help. They were super helpful.

Started out good. Was able to accommodate a one day change in date of services. It was a simple move and they couldn't get that right - simply offloading a 26' Uhaul truck into a ground floor AC unit. Easy. Provided a $200 deposit. But then it got bad. I confirmed via email and text the day before scheduled services. Was told the movers would arrive between 8a-9a on Saturday and would call me when they left the yard (in Tampa). 9:30a came and went - no calls. I called 4 times, texted twice, emailed. Nothing. As I searched for other movers the crew calls and says they're on their way to Seminole. They sent a two-man crew instead of a three man crew. The guys who showed up were very nice. Great representation of their company. However, I never received any communication from the company, nor any apologies (until after I posted this review). The crew told me that they had a scheduling issue and that they didn't have any crew available for me and they were supposed to be working at the warehouse today but got put on my job. It took 2.5 hours to unload the truck into the storage unit. I bought lunch for the two nice guys who showed up. I went to pay and was charged an additional $738. I asked the crew lead if I was only charged for two man crew because the original estimate was a three man crew and he said yes it's a two-man crew. After I paid I checked my original estimate and they charged me for a three man crew. I have emailed and texted the owner and I have received NO communication. I understand it's the weekend, but as a business owner, reputation is everything. He could've at least apologized via text, email, or phone call and he could've at least responded to my inquiries about being overcharged. At the end of the day I paid almost $1000 for a 2.5 hour moving job! After I posted this review I heard from them finally at 8:40p on a Saturday night. They refunded $175 for the 2man crew. Total move cost was $760 for 1 hr 38 min drive time, and a 2 hr 45 min move. Tipped $120 cash for the 2 man crew. read more

Golden mover offers the best services ever. I have moved with them many times over the years, and each and every time I have had nothing but the best, quotes, etc. . I use them and will continue to do so for as long as I can. They are courteous and prompt and knowledgeable about every thing they do and everything you need to know. Never had any scam problem with them. Thank You, Carolyn Ritacca St Pete Beach read more

Received a flyer in the mail from them, researched the reviews, and called the 813 number. On the flyer in bright red lettering it states "Call for a free in home estimate". Did not get anyone local, I ended up talking with a phone room in another country. The guy started asking all about exactly what I wanted moved. I told him I wanted the in home estimate. He said the owner would have to approve that, and again tried to get all the info over the phone. This was all way too shady for me. I am looking elsewhere for my moving needs. read more

A terrible ordeal. Beware of the paperwork and read the small print! I recently used Golden Movers to move out of state. I notified them during my initial meeting/inventory taking that I would be packing just about everything myself since I have lots of packing experience through previous employment. They recommended their insurance (for replacement value) to cover any damage, which I agreed to. Not once was I told that anything packed by me would NOT be covered by this insurance! It's in the small print! Needless to say, through their negligence, there was a lot of damage. Boxes were crushed and dented because they weren't packed on the truck properly, even though they had very visible red fragile stickers on some of them. I watched some of my boxes being dropped on the floor when they were handed down from the driver to another guy. When my furniture was unpacked (they wrapped the furniture) there was a lot of damage. Nicks, dents and scratches on some pieces on furniture through their carelessness. A beautiful outdoor statue (part of a pair) was also broken. I subsequently put in a claim and they offered me a very low amount as compensation since they obviously did not want to claim against their insurance. The amount offered was definitely not replacement value, although it did cover having a company do some furniture repairs where possible. I stood my ground and my claim finally went to their insurance company. I have just received the check - 3 months later - but the whole ordeal with Golden Movers was unnecessarily stressful. I have done a few cross country moves, and this was by far the worst experience. read more

Hiring this moving company has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had. First and foremost, Victor has to be the biggest scam artist of a salesman ever. He will knowingly lie to you and quote you the bare minimum (using the phrase, "I can get you fully moved for $300 if you sign with us today") and once you sign, you will lose every bit of communication with Victor, has he will not return phone calls nor respond to emails). When they call you the day prior, I'd advise to double check that they have your inventory correct, as they will add the 3 biggest items and leave off the rest while telling you, "it's okay, they'll still move it for you as it's included" (which will overall be a lie as I will detail that below). The day of the move, do not expect the movers to be there ON TIME as scheduled, as my move was scheduled to be packed up between 9am-10am, and they arrived at 11:45am with several phone calls telling me "they're 10 minutes away". Once they arrive, they take their time getting started, as both my workers walked throughout my house just gazing. While loading, they will force you to have them shrink wrap your mattresses, which will cost you $125 (come to find out upon closing out you'll learn there's a waiver but they'll charge you to unwrap it). Once being contacted to settle the balance, your quote will be a joke, as Victor's promise of "$300", will them turn into $1400. You'll then have the choice to pay the entirety for the truck to leave your driveway or pay 70% and they'll just unload it where it sits. Advice, avoid using this company as they are an absolute scam. Rent a U-Haul.and don't yourself or shop around more because this company isn't worth the time, money, or headache. read more

Amazing staff! Did my move effortlessly with no stress! Thank you Golden Movers ! & Dwayne he was so professional and kind! I would recommend to anyone moving! read more

Josh and his team were beyond amazing. I truly can't say enough wonderful things about their professionalism, great service, & smooth move. We had a multi-day, multi-phase move (over 7k sqr ft, Guesthouse, 3 car garage). They also packed our entire estate with care and professionalism. I think we had a least 6-8 men crew each time. Because of the multi-phase move, they had to be very organized and did an great job of that as well as communicating. They really can provide VIP service, (crated things that were expensive or delicate, etc). Some things went to storage (which they provide too!), some to the new home, and some things moved to one of our businesses. They executed everything with ease and made a typically REALLY stressful experience, easy and manageable. We are using them soon for a long-distance move, to relocate some items from storage to a summer home. You can't go wrong with these guys (they really know what they're doing), and they were just an entire team of wonderful people. Thank you Golden Movers! read more

Josh and his team came out to move my personal family. As a real estate agent I come across a lot of movers and I chose them to use my personal house. Probably one of the best choices I made. I will for sure refer them to my clients and feel comfortable finally having a mover I can trust will get the job done and make me look good . Dwayne, Rick, Wendell personally moves us. Ask for em. read more

Relocated 1 bedroom apartment from Tampa, FL to Jersey City, NJ and used Golden Movers for the move. This was my first big move and naturally had a lot of stress associated with the move. The whole team at Golden Movers (Jeremy at Corporate and Dwayne the mover) took almost ALL of the stress out of the move. Jeremy was very responsive to all of my questions about the process of the move and Dwayne (and his guys) were respectful, professional and did an amazing job making sure all of my furniture was safe and secure for the long haul. There were no issues, no delays and no hidden fees upon delivery of furniture. If you are on the fence about hiring movers I would strongly recommend you reconsider as this was the best money I spent on my relocation. 10/10 and will be using them in the further if I ever move again (which I hope is not for a long time haha). read more

A few days after writing this I was finally able to speak with the owner of the company. He was amicable and willing to help. I'm happy to say the situation is resolved and we can move on from this! read more

I've used Golden Movers 3 times, once moving to Florida, then for an office move and recently for a local move. The first two moves went extremely well and I recommended Golden Movers whenever a conversation included moving. On the most recent move, we ran into a problem. We were unable to move into our new place due to a water leak so Golden moved our things into storage. When the leak was repaired, we scheduled another move from storage to out home. During this move, I heard something hit the floor. The item wasn't broken, but the wood floor was damaged. The mover (supervisor, in this case) saw the damage but tried to ignore it. When I confronted him about it, he finally made a note and promised that the owner would contact me to resolve the issue. That was in July 2012. I haven't heard from them since. It's disappointing as I was a raving fan and sent them referrals and now I feel like they are just another moving company. I think it depends on who is assigned to your move. If you get people that have been with the company and are dedicated (like on the first two moves), you'll probably do ok. If you decide to use them, I suggest staying on-site and keeping on eye on the movers. If anything goes wrong, be sure to get it in writing an/or withold final payment until resolved. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company! They helped me out when I was in a real bind. My other moving company, Wesley Chapel Movers, "lost" my reservations AFTER confirming them with me prior to my move. I only found out this information when I called them 1.5 hour AFTER they were scheduled to move my things. This is where Golden Movers saved the day. I called around 11am, talked to Bob, and he arranged for the movers to come for same day service. The extra friendly courteous movers Dwayne, Dre and Devin arrived around 4:30pm to my residence and moved all of my things to my new place by 7pm. They were so nice and expedient. If I ever move again, I'm definitely calling GM. They were a true blessing to me. read more

Our team from Golden Movers was Scott and Kevin. They were fantastic! They came when they were supposed to, were careful with everything, especially the antique pieces of furniture we were worried about. They delivered on schedule and were exceptionally accommodating about placing furniture and boxes where we needed them. And they are really nice guys! We were 1,100 lbs over the estimate, and expected to get slammed with a huge additional bill; but the added charges were more than fair. We are completely satisfied and couldn't be happier with the service we received from Golden Movers! read more

This was one of the best and quickest move for me. There were two guys, Wayne and Dwayne to move our stuff. They took their time in wrapping the furniture and were very easy to deal with. We had a couple of questions while they were packing and the guys answered the Qs without snapping at us!!! And the best part is, the guys load the truck at pickup, unload it at Drop-off location. No Hand/Truck change in between. Very punctual and we dint have to bother calling them again and again for delivery. Delivery was with-in two weeks. I would highly recommend these guys. And Mr.Josh Finklea , The operations manager, was very professional and prompt in responding to our mails. I would definitely hire these guys again without thinking twice!! Keep Up the good work Golden Movers!! read more

Just finished another perfect move. These guys are careful, patient, and very helpful. Thank you for the service

Well, I just want to start out saying I actually went through Budget movers and came to find out that actually going through reviews of Budget clearly did me no good considering they out sourced to Golden Movers. Let's start from where Golden Movers came into play since I'm reviewing them currently. The first contact I had from them was from Bob. He was a nice guy that knew how to talk to customers and gave great information and answered my questions. I asked many questions. I also let them know that we had a long curvy driveway. He let us know that we needed to have everything ready and packed up for the movers. I told him that we were already setting it up in the garage so it was easier for them to get. So far so good except that I was surprised to hear that he was with Golden Movers and it wasn't actually Budget Movers moving our items. Then a day or two before our items move date I heard from a driver/mover. I received a voicemail from him stating that he's about ready to start heading our way and that he needed to verify the address....then he thought he was off the phone and started cussing up a storm about some computer issues or something of the sort. I thought, hmm this is going to be interesting. I called him back and let him know our address and after a short conversation, I determined he was a rough and gruff guy. I let it go and hoped things would work out because I already had enough to worry about trying to move across the U.S. The next wonderful interaction with this guy was when I received a call from my boyfriend saying that the guy can't make it up to our driveway. Ummm really? I wasn't sure why this should be a problem because golden movers and budget were aware we had a long curvy driveway so "NO" to large flat beds or semi but many other moving trucks have made it up to our driveway so anything else will work. So this guy tells my boyfriend that he can't make it around a tree that's to the right of the driveway but a foot and a half and the left side which had enough wheel space to move over before being off into the grass. We also offered to move a limb that touched the top of the truck if that would help but he didn't want to hear any our helpful suggestions. He was rude and ignore my boyfriend and instantly got on the phone with Bob stating that he can't make it and that they will have to walk the items down to the truck and that he's wanting to approve a WALKING FEE! Really?! First we heard of this type of thing! So anyway my boyfriend offered to start moving the items to the truck to avoid the walking fee of $250. Again, he ignores my boyfriend and just starts doing what he wants to which is to walk the items down. At this time I show up and see what the issue is with getting the truck up. There wasn't any as I could see! I also found out he only tried once and that's it! Seriously guy? So I talked to my boyfriend and got the low down and found out the guy is very rude and wasn't trying to work with us at all. Then my dad showed up and I had previously told him what was going on and he wanted to see if he could help since he is the owner of the house and knows the driveway well and has helped other big trucks up it. He walked down to the main moving guy( there were 2) and just started out by saying something helpful and the guy was all over him cussing at him saying "I don't need anyone telling me how to do my fucking job! Wow! Great customer service guy. So my father was upset and wanted to speak to his superior. I gave him the number and him and I both tried to get a hold of BOB several times to let him know what was going on. Can you believe it?! So at this point, the guys temper and attitude were out of control and he stopped doing most the WALKING making the other poor guy do it all. He was a bigger guy and it was really humid and hot out and you could tell after a bit he was beat! He started dropping our things and I don't blame him because he was the only one working and felt really bad when it happened. Bob finally returned our call a day or 2 later and I had to explain everything and I he said that he would speak with the owner to give us a discount and to not charge us the walking fee. A few days later Bob got back to me and said the owner wouldn't discount but we wouldn't have to pay the walking fee. I feel like more should have been done and that we shouldn't have to pay the walking fee in the first place because a Good driver would have been able to make it no problem and several have before. Also after going through all my things I have found so many broken items and broken brand new plastic totes. Never again. Do yourself a favor and just don't use this company. Plus I wasn't made aware from the beginning that our things would be moving with other peoples items. read more

Moved in Jan 2014 from FL to DC. They were very good at carefully packing our belongings. We definitely learned some packing lessons from these guys! The only thing that would have been better is if our patio furniture and bikes would have fit in the truck instead of being wrapped up with the other outdoor things on the back of the truck. It ended up getting some scrapes from the straps after 900 miles on the rood. Overall we were very pleased with the quality of packing and timeliness of our delivery. read more

Warning, based on my experience, they are not a Christian Company. They caused just under $5,000 in damage to my home. They took photos, I took photos to prove the damage. They dropped items multiple time. Everything Josh said about what they will do during the move turned out to be false. If your experience is like mine, do not use this company. I made a huge mistake in trusting this company. They will not turn it into insurance, you will have to contact a Lawyer if you use them. read more

Golden Movers is the greatest! I'm a senior move manager and they are my choice to get the job done right. There's never a fear that something will go wrong. They prepare well by getting as much information as they need before the move so they show up with the right materials and equipment--crates for items that need it and blankets for every piece of furniture. The customer service from the office folks is top-notch--they are easy to reach and very responsive. The movers, themselves are the best part. They are well-trained, which is important because its makes them efficient and careful. And their attitude is truly amazing to me. It's hot miserable work but they don't seem to notice. I've been using Golden for over 10 years, working with the same guys now as when I first started. Plus, I used them for my own cross-country move...twice because they only use their guys and their trucks for interstate moves. They don't pass off loads to other haulers or use day labor. Peace of mind. read more

We are so happy that Golden Movers moved us from Florida to South Carolina! It was a great experience. Josh, his office staff, and his teams that moved us did everything with excellence! The office staff was organized and planned packing and unloading, off-site storage, and delivery which was no easy feat because it took us two months to purchase a new home. They communicated well with us the entire time. I cannot say enough about the teams that moved our belongings. They worked well together as a team and had fun as they worked, while taking great care with our belongings. They were very respectful of us and our home, as well as, being sensitive to how difficult moving can be for a family. I have never seen items so well padded and packed. We arrived with only one loss...a mdf shoe holder. This was such a relief as we lost almost half of our furniture on a previous move with a different moving company. If you are looking for a moving company that will treat you well and take great care of your belongings then you have found them.....Golden Movers. I highly recommend them!! read more

VERY disappointing!!! So I chose this company for their "christian values" thinking there would be compassion and understanding. Needless to say I did not receive either. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because the actual "movers" were nice and patient. When I called I had wanted to load up on the 28th or 29th of September but was told they were completely booked so I took the 27th instead. My expected delivery day was Oct. 2nd but the 3rd at the latest. So of course I planned accordingly, expecting my bed and things to be delivered the latest on the third. As we all know moving is a hassle and I should have read reviews before I agreed to anything, as a matter of fact I wish red flags would have flown up when Bob started telling me how they had such great reviews and went as far as telling me he would email me the "good" reviews. Anyways, I just took it for what it was, I thought, reassurance that all would be good. Well !!!! on the 1st I called to see what time I could expect them at my new apt. when I was told that they had not even left yet!!? I contacted Bob again and asked what was going on? Now I didn't have any thing left for a hotel stay since all saved funds were already committed to apt. deposit and rent and move in utilities, as you can imagine that adds up. I texted mr.Bob explaining that I now was being put in a situation where my stuff would not be arriving supposedly until the 4th, and I would literally be sleeping on the floor with my two children. After having to pay over $4000.00 for a move I expected that the company would be more than willing to extend a discount or a credit of some sort. WRONG!!!! He didn't even have the courtesy of apologizing and trying to make amends , instead wrote that the actual "window" of delivery was through the 7th .... NOPE!!!! I was not told that, I was told the 2nd and at the latest the 3rd. So the movers get here on the 4th in the afternoon. Low and behold ....... they managed to get another load headed my way!!! what a coincidence that my order was delayed and they were able to pick up another one while they were still there!!! and not only that folks, but it was from a very high profile customer who was shipping a $100,000 car!!! NO I will never use them again, NO I will never recommend them, and quite frankly they should be ashamed to advertise that they are a "christian company" because "Christ-like" was the farthest from how I was treated!! and yes some of my things were damaged through the move which I assumed was because it traveled so far. There you have it, take it as a warning or not, but now you are aware. read more

Josh and his team are the best. They take extra care with your things and I did not have an item broken. They work hard and help you set up your furniture just the way you want it. What a great experience I had with Golden Movers. The staff really does care about the quality of service you receive. I was looking to see how much it would be to move myself from FL to TX, and was shocked to see how expensive it would be. I contacted Golden Movers just to get a quote, and I was very surprised that I was able to actually have movers o the work for me for less than renting a truck and doing it on my own! Bob was great to work with, and was very responsive via email and phone, and the moving crew was top notch, taking great care of my things. Highly recommend Golden Movers!! read more

I hired American Van Lines who said they are not "sub-contractors," meaning they do all the move themselves. However, they DID subcontract to Golden Movers. I called AVL and they said that if they are going to miss their deadline in the contract, they will hire another company to complete the move. (One would think they would call me to tell me that they have to subcontract, but they did not). Ok. Bob from Golden Movers called me a few days prior to pick-up. He seemed nice and straight forward. The movers came and picked everything up. Louis was very nice, as was Erin, one of the movers. On delivery day, they unloaded everything and showed my balance as $200 higher than what the American Van Lines contract showed I owed. This is without any additional cost incurred (meaning I was under-weight and did not add items). Louis called Bob (apparently the manager or dispatcher at Golden Movers) who told him to make me pay the additional money and I would have to call American Van Lines to get the money back. Obviously I didn't do that. So I called Bob directly and he said, no joke, "If you don't pay the full balance, you won't get your stuff." Like I said, Bob seemed nice on the phone when I first spoke to him, but it was all fake. He was trying to screw me out of more money that wasn't in my contract. So, I cancelled my credit card and called AVL. They told me to only pay what was in my contractual balance. I took pictures of all the documents they had for proof. Aside from Louis and Erin, I think that GOLDEN MOVERS ARE AN UNETHICAL COMPANY AND BOB IS A LIAR AND DECEIVER. If you use AVL, make sure that they do not subcontract to Golden Movers. read more
