Golden Gate Studios - Bridal bouquet laying down. - Florists Near Me - Cranston, Rhode Island

Jay was amazing to work with and the flowers were over the top beautiful for my daughters wedding!!! Highly recommend Golden Gate studios.

Attentive to requests, knowledgeable, thorough and detailed with respect to our wedding (i.e., venue, colors, etc.), Jay was extremely easy to work with. We scheduled meetings on several occasions to which were always met promptly and on time. Constructive exchanges, no hesitation on answering questions, and over time, able to provide set-up examples and the flower-types that would be used, Jay was a pleasure to work with towards arranging flowers for the bridal party, the ceremony, and the table centerpieces and mantles, as well as lanterns around the venue. We recommend beforehand to come with ideas, bringing examples of floral arrangements, if possible, at the venue you plan to use and/or incorporate your wedding colors. Doing this, during our first meeting, Jay listened to us intently, making notes throughout our thought discussion and of the ideas we proposed, accommodating throughout, at the end providing to us everything we could ever imagine in amazing clarity and detail. read more

I used Golden Gate Studios for my wedding flowers, and had a SPECTACULAR experience. Not only were my flowers beautiful, but they lasted all night long and truly exceeded my expectations. I worked extensively with Jay Lane to custom design my centerpiece as well as bouquets, and was so thrilled with the response. He also worked with me on price to ensure that I got everything I wanted for a price that worked within my budget. And he could not be a nicer or easier person to work with. I would highly recommend Golden Gate as a wedding florist (and in fact I have already recommended them many times in person!) read more

Jay and his team did our flowers for our wedding at The Dorrance on 9/26/15. They were STUNNING. I asked Jay for the WOW" factor and boy did he deliver! I was in awe of how beautiful the room looked when we walked in. I did half high, half low centerpieces. He made my vision look even BETTER than I envisioned (and I have HIGH standards). All of our bouquets were gorgeous as well. I was still enjoying my beautiful bridal bouquet at home a week later. Don't hesitate to book Golden Gate. Jay and his team are amazing. He also did the up lighting, which made the room even more beautiful. I received countless compliments on how gorgeous the flowers were. I can't give them enough praise! read more

Jay and his team are incredible! My husband and I were lucky enough to work with Jay twice now...once for our wedding ceremony in July 2020 and now for our wedding reception in December 2021. Jay's arrangements are a work of art. He puts so much love and attention into his floral designs and it shows. Jay and his team were fantastic to work with. Easy to communicate with and knew exactly what we wanted! I would highly recommend Golden Gate for floral arrangements of any kind, especially your wedding! read more

I wish I had read these reviews instead of trusting what I read on TheKnot and in Rhode Island Monthly. The Studio itself should have given me a red flag. Recently had a wedding in Rhode Island, and Golden Gate came highly recommended. Jay had done business at this venue numerous times and was aware that wind was a factor. The silk wrap over the arch (chuppah) blew off prior to the wedding and his staff was no where to be found and were unreachable via cell phone. It was finally correctly minutes before the ceremony was to begin. The "simple elegant" concept of the greenery through the arch looked ridiculous and way too understated, in spite of the cost. The centerpieces, although again simple elegant, died by the end of the night. Two substantial arrangements for the ceremony were supposed to be on columns and were placed on the ground. I paid a lot of money for very little return. I will follow-up with Rhode Island Monthly and The Knot, as well as my many friends in Rhode Island with upcoming weddings and not recommend Golden Gate. read more

I am not a huge flower person like some people are, but I knew flowers were essential to have at our wedding. We decided to go with Golden Gate Studios because they were on the list of preferred vendors from our venue (Lake Pearl) and we heard they can do just about anything. The first meeting we had with them down at their location with Jay left us in awe. We were probably most excited about our flowers more than anything else at that point! Jay asked a lot of questions and was taking notes, and by the end of our meeting, he rattled off a whole bunch of flower types for the bouquets that I've never even heard of, but he seemed so confident and enthused that I trusted him completely. He also did our centerpieces which were GORGEOUS! I still have guests telling me how beautiful our centerpieces were. They were large gold tree branches that came out of a flower box base with 2-3 votive candles hanging off the branches. They were breathtaking! We talked about the bouquets months and months before the wedding, and you don't know how they will look until that day. Let me tell you... I was getting ready in the bridal suite, and my mom was lacing up my dress, and I had my back to the door when they arrived. All of the girls "OOH'd" and "AHH'd," and I couldn't turn around to see them. She placed them on the couch in front of me, and I think I nearly cried. Weird for someone who's not big into flowers, right? They were beautiful! Oranges and reds and yellows. I wanted them bright and vibrant and Autumn-y, and they were JUST that. I could not be happier with Golden Gate. They are very reasonably priced, and you get a LOT for your money. I couldn't recommend them enough. read more

I had such a fabulous experience with Jay at Golden Gate. I am an out-of-town bride, who grew up in Rhode Island and Jay made all my dreams come true with his beautiful bouquets, uplighting and centerpieces. His hands on and personal approach made the experience free of anxiety and it was like he knew who we were after us just meeting once. He kept in touch and made sure we were thoughtful in our ideas. He is a pro! Listen to him! I didn't really get to thank him because the day of I was in such amazing wedding shock, but he has a beautiful talent and he managed to make the Biltmore look ever more amazing than it does normally! read more

Golden Gate Studios - The sweetheart table! - Florists Near Me - Cranston, Rhode Island

I used Golden Gate for a large spring event in Newport, and was horribly disappointed in what was delivered to us. The flowers themselves were fine, but the vases were hideous! Tall, bright chartreuse vases and shiny purple ones took the place of the low, clear glass cubes I had ordered. Just imagine how they looked with our royal blue and white table linens. I subsequently wrote a letter of complaint to Jay which was ignored - then Karma had us meet in an elevator this past weekend in Newport, and I told him that I was still waiting for a reply to my letter - he just shrugged. I asked "Is this how you do business?" and he just shrugged again. BEWARE, because if you get your flowes one hour before your big event and they are UGLY, there's not much you can do about it, and I guarantee you won't get much satisfaction out of Jay Lane of Golden Gate studios! PS: You get what you pay for, so don't pay him very much at all!! read more

Oh my goodness Jay Lane! What can I say about him...he's a flower god! My wedding flowers were perfection. He listened to every detail I wanted and created my dream bouquet and centerpieces. He presented me my stunning bouquet on his knee like a perfect gentleman. So so pleased with him and his company. read more

We used Jay Lane at Golden Gate Studios for our flowers at our wedding! We explained to him our ideas of what we were looking for and let his artistic talents take off. I was blown away with all the girls flowers including my own! Stunning! We sunk a peak at the ballroom before all the guests arrived and I was almost brought to tears on how amazing it looked! Each center piece was different (as we had asked) and each was breathtaking! Such an artistic talent! What they do at Golden gate is amazing! I would highly recommend them as well as the "gift tree" that we hung our escort cards from. Just awesome! read more

Great staff and very accommodating. They are very well known in the wedding industry. They were packed when i called in for an appointment but still found a way to talk to me. Jay is one of a kind when it comes to his professionalism and his hospitality. He really does care. He wants everything to go great and he takes charge and just knows EXACTLY what to do. I do not know anything about flowers and I walked in with a couple pictures and ideas and he really just blew me and my fiance away with his knowledge and preciseness. Our wedding was beautiful. He took into consideration every single last detail. He was so nice and sweet and really worked hard with us and for us to be completely 100% satisfied with EVERYTHING! Love this florist shop and I would recommend all brides and grooms to chose them and put your mind as ease for you will be completely taken of!! They do not disappoint!!! read more

Jay and his wife are amazing! We used Golden Gate for our wedding flowers and they were beyond stunning! They worked with us to make sure each and every detail was perfect and were flexible with changes in the months/weeks leading up to the wedding day. We had beautiful, full centerpieces that didn't get lost on the tables like I've seen happen at other weddings. My bouquet was amazing and lasted the entire night. They had fantastic ideas for the grooms/groomsmen's boutineers, as I didn't want a plain old rose! Everything complimented and worked with our decor, they also did a fantastic job with fresh flowers for our cake topper! They will also work with any budget and offer other services such as uplighting (we loved!) and aisle runners! read more

I wanted to surprise my wife for our thirty fifth wedding anniversary by having a bouquet of roses in our hotel room when we checked in. I wanted everything about our celebration to reflect how much I love her. Golden Gate was recommended by hotel concierge, so I took the advice and called. When we entered the hotel room I was not disappointed. It was the most beautiful bouquet of flowers I have ever bought for my wife. Golden Gate exceeded my expectations and helped make this special anniversary memorable. I would highly recommend and use them again. I really can not sing their praises enough. read more

We were simply "blown away" by the quality of flowers, the artistic arrangement, and the total attention to detail! Thank you so very much! We could not have been happier with our choice to go with Golden Gate Studios for our wedding florals. Jay was absolutely amazing to work with - he's super friendly, helpful, and knows how to get things done! He always had great suggestions based off what we asked of him, and very quickly figured out exactly what we were looking for and how to make it happen. The vision that we had in our heads for how we wanted our florals to look absolutely came to life, and managed to exceed our expectations! Their prices were very fair and they were willing to make last-minute substitutions when needed. Highly recommended! read more

We used Golden Gate Studios for our wedding flowers and were incredibly impressed! Jay was a pleasure to work with and offered some great ideas that worked out beautifully. When I had to make a last-minute change, he was more than accommodating. The flowers were fresh and beautifully arranged. They were delivered on-time and had little tags to tell us which arrangement or bout went to which person. Best of all? I gave them a small budget amount and they met it in a beautiful way! I could have paid double at other stores for the same thing and there was absolutely no sacrifice on quality or beauty. Thanks, Jay & co! read more

Jay and his staff at Golden Gate are simply the best. We used them for our Newport, RI wedding and everything was both seamlessly perfect and beyond what we could have asked for. They were like magic little elves on our wedding day, did their thing, made it look like a perfect dream, and even repurposed the ceremony arrangements into the ballroom for the reception during our brief cocktail hour. (Again, unseen unheard magic little elves!!). Jay absolutely nailed it with regard to creating arrangements and centerpieces that reflected out asks and wants. He even helped us make it look more elaborate by suggesting ideas and options without up selling us. We didn't feel the slightest bit pressured or being sold at all, it was so friendly and easy. And finally, we had some weird family dynamics and needed an extra corsage and buttoner day of the wedding and he already had them prepared, being the professional he is and knowing that kind of stuff happens with weddings. Five stars aren't enough, and I wish we were local to the area to support this amazing business over and over! Thank you to Jay and everyone at Golden Gate! read more

I cannot speak highly enough about Jay and Golden Gate who provided flowers for our wedding earlier this month. I was so impressed with him from our very first meeting where he took my simple answers about color scheme and bridal party and created an incredible plan that brought to life the vision I didn't even know I wanted! My autumnal wedding flowers were beyond spectacular, from my giant gorgeous bouquet to the arrangements displayed at the reception. The biggest hit was the pumpkins at each table, carved with table number and surrounded by beautiful blooms and votives. Our guests were so impressed! Not only were the flowers simply perfect, but Jay was extremely professional throughout my year of planning. He was always available to answer my questions and change little details along the way right up until my wedding day. This was even more helpful to me as a Rhode Island native now turned Texan who planned most of my wedding remotely - he readily arranged phone meetings and worked seamlessly with my parents who are local. He is one of the nicest gentlemen I've ever met and made me feel like he was truly invested in making our day as special as possible. As if that all wasn't enough, he gave us with an incredible value for all the arrangements, corsages, and bouquets that he provided! In sum, can't say enough wonderful things about Golden Gate Studios and would highly recommend them to any Southern New England bride!! read more

They recently did the flowers for my May wedding and I was very impressed. The prices seem fair - comparable to other florists in the area. The listened well to what I wanted and created gorgeous bouquets and accent flowers for the church and reception. They also delivered everything as requested and even transferred the flowers from the church to the reception for us. The vases that the flowers came in were tactful. They were very attentive and flexible when I called with questions. I would definitely recommend them. read more

Jay did an amazing job on my flower arrangements and bouquets!!! I would recommend him to anyone, all my guests loved our flowers.

Do NOT trust what Jay tells you! They messed up everything. I made it clear that I wanted my flowers to look natural and not so stiff looking like someone put it together. I wanted light pink flowers because my bridesmaids had light pink dresses. I also asked for my bouquet to be small and he said that he wouldn't make it any smaller than he thought I wouldn't "like it". (How would he know what I like!?!) and kept my bouquet at $150,.. Which I did not care for but he told me I had no choice and I wouldn't be happy, come to the day of my wedding... I had a huge bouquet that I hated, it took away from my beautiful dress because of how huge it was, I absolutely hated it. My bridesmaids bouquets where BRIGHT pink!! When I made it extra clear I wanted soft pink. The bouquets were put together so stiff looking and it did not look natural. I wanted them loose and flowing and they did nothing of that. I called Jay and left a message. I never got a call back. I never got any money back, nothing!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME... BECAUSE THE DAY OF YOUR WEDDING WILL COME AND THEY DROP THEM OFF AND DONT CARE ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR!! read more
