From the moment I spoke with Chris, I knew he was going to be the floral designer for my daughter's wedding. He returned calls, answered emails, and never left me feeling that he was in it for only my money. Out of 5 other vendors that I reached out to, Chris was the only one that checked off all of the boxes. Every other vendor I spoke with mentioned their minimum price, right off the bat, not Chris, he wanted to know what the vibe was, what flower we liked, and what we thought we wanted to spend. I thought he and his team would do great work, but he did so much more - he made the venue look magical. As my daughter and my new son-in-law knelt at the altar, I could not help but notice how beautiful the flowers he provided in the chapel were. When we made it back to the venue, I was blown away - Chris and his team made the venue look like it was straight out of a fairytale book. It is now 5 days after the wedding, and I have several arrangements that I took home, and they still look perfect. The flowers still look fresh enough to use for another wedding. I visited Gilmore's Flower shop in East Providence RI over the weekend and I left so very…read moredisappointed. Let me say that I do understand it was the day before Mother's Day but there was only 2 other customers in the store when I was there. An employee came over and asked if we had been helped yet. We told her "no, we are waiting for assistance " she went to the back and came out with another woman who asked what we needed. I told her we were there to order a bridal bouquet. The second woman told me " I don't have anyone who can talk to you, you will have to come back another day". I have never felt so unvalued as a customer from a business as I did that day. No one could take 10 minutes to ask what exactly I needed. (I know it was 10 minutes because I timed the visit to a different florist who took the time to speak to me and it took 10 minutes to choose the flowers I liked and to pay her for them.) So my experience at Gilmore's was not good in any way that day. I specifically chose Gilmore's because I want to support local businesses as much as I can, but it seemed like while they were important to me, my business was not important enough to take a few minutes to talk to me.

During COVID-19 they have been putting together beautiful porch bouquets that you can send to a friend or family member to brighten up their day. I was hoping to score a porch bouquet for Mother's Day, but since they were sold out I went with their Mad Mini option. It came out beautiful!!!! For the price it is a touch on the small side, but they use all high end bigger blooms which makes it worth it. My Mom loved her arrangements and their card selections are super cute. The owner hand writes all the card messages which gives it a nice touch. My only complaint was that the $20 shipping charge was pretty steep. I think $10 would have been more reasonable and on par with what other florists in the area are charging for delivery. If they delivery fee went down a bit I would defineitly use them again. Paul greeted us as soon as we walked in the door and asked how he could help us. I explained why I was there and he showed me where the "books" were and let me have space to look and decide. Never did he come over and try to show me anything, which I am extremely grateful for. He gave me the time, space and privacy to talk with my husband that I needed, that day. In fact, I took some time in deciding and went through the books many, many times. Paul occasional came over to see if I needed help, which I didn't, and quickly went about his business until I was ready. The store was quite busy with outgoing flower deliveries but he continued to check on me, even saying, "I'm right over here when you are ready.". When I was ready he was more than accommodating with my order and a custom order from my sister, who lives out of town. I have yet to see our ordered arrangements, I do have high hopes with the service I received, on such a hard day. I will be back to comment on the actual arrangements after this time has passed. They never bothered to call me or ask what I wanted. They didn't care to even ask. Thus the person wasn't home when they delivered and just got a note to call back for delivery. When placing the order I was never asked for a best time for delivery, was never told they might not be delivered or any such warning. What a crushing dissapointment.
