I stayed here for several nights and enjoyed the resort. It was a beautiful property with a pool,…read moreplenty of lounge chairs, water slides, and a swim-up bar. The $65/person/day resort fee was quite steep and included use of the pool, lounge chairs, tennis court, pickleball court, yoga classes, and the gym. I think you could even ask for a personal trainer. I only used the gym. The gym was in the basement of the hotel, which was depressing, but I appreciated the cold, mint-scented sweat towels. The rooms were standard and adequate. My room had a partial ocean view. The windows filtered out the street noise, but the interior walls were paper-thin. I could hear the guest next-door texting, and woke up several times from hallway noise (1 star off). The location in Condado is walking distance to the beach, many good restaurants, coffee shops, a pharmacy, a post office, and a small grocery store. Old San Juan is further out and requires a short car ride. If you are looking for a touristy and resorty hotel, this hotel is a good choice.

It's our 3rd time staying at this resort on Condado Beach. We keep coming back for the location…read more The beach is so beautiful here. It does have a little bit of history. It was the site of the infamous Dupont Plaza Hotel fire (arson in the casino) back in 1986. It's the one that led to stricter enforcement of hotel fire and safety codes in the US. I didn't know about it until my cousin recognized it when picking us up at the hotel back in 2019. You would never know otherwise just by looking at it. During our most recent visit, we were welcomed with a scent of L'Occitane upon entering the lobby. It has been renovated since the last time we were there. It just seemed more open and bright. It's a very nice first impression. The service is great. We arrived for early check-in. Our room was ready. Yay! All the resort amenities were explained. We were given wristbands for access to the pool and beach areas, and then off we went to the 7th floor. We typically receive rooms on higher floors, but the 7th floor ended up working very well for us. Right away, we noticed that it was a corner room with 2 balconies. We must have somehow received an upgrade. It was a very nice surprise. The room was clean & comfortable. The A/C is adequate, but could be better. The air flow has actually improved a little since our last visit. The best part is the sound of the waves crashing on shore and that beautiful view. There is more than enough food & drink options at this resort such as Cosecha, Café Mercado, Sakana, Terrazzo, Azure Lounge, and many bars. They were all knew to us. I think the only deal breaker is the premium cost of goods when purchasing anything on the property. Just know that there are many awesome restaurants and bars along Ashford Avenue. It's all very walkable and safe. There are also other affordable Marriott options in Condado if this one isn't a good fit. We saw them as we walked along Ashford. We'll continue to book this resort in the future. Condado is a great location for sun & fun. It's close to Old San Juan, the port, and even the airport. It was the perfect pre-cruise hotel for us.

It was a little rocky service wise... We sat for a while with absolutely zero acknowledgment. Not even a quick greet. Enough to where we considered just getting up and calling it a night. There were 6 guests at the bar... and at one point, 7 staff members behind the bar avoiding our direction. It was silly to watch. We held in though for a few more minutes and added in the tropical crème brulee. Presentation was great, but taste wasn't amazing. Not the crispy top layer we were looking for and more of a thicker tapioca base. The music really wins this place. Maybe the dinner items are a better choice. If you're in the mood for a little live music, great to just sit back and relax.

He was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Most importantly, he made sure that our water was full! The cherry on top? The Créme Brulee. Do not leave without trying! It was so good, I had to restrain myself from licking the coconut shell it was served in!

They have an omelette/egg station, pastries, fruit, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, cereal, and yogurt. There was a rotation of French toast, biscuits, gravy, and hard boiled eggs. I had an omelette and potatoes every morning plus pastries, fruit, and yogurt. Most days I was able to skip lunch or have a little snack before dinner. The dinner/lunch menu is the same no matter what time you go and has a pretty limited selection. They were able to put chicken on my plantain nachos instead of the beef. Everything was warm when it arrived. We were there before during and after hurricane Fiona, so the service was extremely slow during lunch and dinner. I'm not sure how common this is because of the circumstances. There are also not very many tables inside if you go to lunch/dinner during bad weather. They did seat a few people in the breakfast area but I'm not sure how common this is. Basically, during and after the hurricane everyone staying at the hotel had to eat meals here. There was a couple other restaurants open after, but they didn't have running water.

And, the restaurant still does a poor job of cooking the bacon on the buffet line. The scrambled eggs are extremely over-cooked. They would be more bearable if salsa was available, but the restaurant does not provide any. The omelette line is very long and moves slowly. It's a difficult tradeoff because the Sheraton San Juan Hotel and Casino has a much better breakfast but the location is not nearly as good as Old San Juan.
