Me and my husband just moved to the area and we were looking for a nice buffet to try and we found this place and thought it was pretty interesting. When we first entered I noticed the buffet wasn't even open. Still didn't think anything of it as it was slow and they probably didn't want to waste food. The lady decided to then sit us at a table that was gross and tore. When she came back with the drinks, when I tasted the sweet tea it tasted like straight water. No flavor. Then it took them 30 min to almost an hour for JUST orange chicken. Not to mention the pricing is insane. When you look up this restaurant it says 10-20$ but in fact was not. The pricing was insane. Expect to pay extra for every sauce. Example if you order crab rangoons they don't include sweet and sour sauce. Also they don't give napkins or plastic ware if you place to go orders. For the amount you pay I would expect just those basic things. Also food was not worth the money at all, the crab rangoons are unflavorful and disgusting. It's like they were cooked yesterday and deep fried again today, burnt to a crisp with rotten ingredients. I mean if you have 25 dollars burning a hole in your pocket and all you want is over priced fried rice and bland burnt crab rangoons this is your place. I've been ordering from this place a lot since the start of the shutdowns, Pancit and egg rolls have always been pretty good, I prefer the house pancit as the Singapore is kind of bland. And the dumplings are good but don't get steamed they're mushy, fried are good. Spring Rolls are also pretty solid. read more

Better than other places. The girl at the front, also seems to almost be the only employee, is a nice friendly face. The food itself is great, served hot and with a smile. I've visited here and other local restaurants but this is the spot for Chinese food. It's close to the movie theater so you can have a quick bite after a movie. I am most impressed by the customer service. Not only are they getting orders for delivery and pickup but they take care of everyone with the same manner. It is difficult to find a place with good customer service and good food. I did edit this review. I felt that I needed to try various menu items including appetizers. I'm am satisfied and would recommend Golden China to locals, visitors, and our military service members nearby. I will recommend sesame balls ... I think that what they are called. Alright, Camden County history lesson before we start. Sin Far was a delicious restaurant, that was in the spot where Peppers (which is now Compas, which is owned by the same people who owned Mi Casa, who left the original Peppers to start their own restaurant, but that's another story) is (right next to the current location of Golden China) Sin Far closed, and a new place opened up, called Super Hong Kong Buffett. They opened up by the interstate. Barf, Puke, Woof. Gross food and an even more gross building. Super Hong Nasty closes, and Golden China opens. All three business owned by the same (great) folks. Golden China pays homage to Sin Far with great food, hot food, and fast service. I have been several times since they've opened, and have been impressed each time. Not only do you get to spectate the owner give new waitresses lessons in customer service, you get to watch employees constantly checking the buffet inventory and temperature. It's a great place, with a great buffet, and an even better menu. Their only downside? They serve Pepsi products. This is Southeast GA, y'all. Coke or nothing. read more

I had General Tso's chicken with fried rice and hot & sour soup. I had plenty for two meals but I hesitated to even take it home. Overpriced too. I think this is the best (on the go, take out) Chinese food you can get in Camden county. Everywhere else we've tried has either made us sick, or is incredibly expensive and not tasty at all. I recently moved from St. Mary's to Kingsland, and I miss being able to come here for lunch at least once a week to get my Sweet & Sour chicken. It was to die for! I am a father with three young kids so going out to eat is always a mission. The owner and her daughter are very helpful with both selecting great food choices and providing my kids with enough plates napkins etc. when we come here there's a family vibe we don't typically feel anywhere else. Fairly good for standard Chinese takeout, and central/accessible to the St. Mary's area. The one thing I have an issue with is that, as a lover of eggplant, I keep trying to order something with eggplant off the menu, only to be told that they never have any in stock! For this area, the prices may not be the best (I've seen these types of prices at the heart of big cities, for example), but it's not terrible either (nothing over $15, but nothing really under $8/$9 either, for main dishes). So far I'd have to say my favorite thing is the "teriyaki" beef appetizer. Not teriyaki sauce, but absolutely delicious, tender, thin sliced beef skewers smothered in a similar (same?) sweet reddish sauce as spare ribs usually are. The Kung pao tofu is amazing and loaded with delicious super fresh veggies and makes a great side, especially for people who may not be super into rice/noodles (the well textured tofu soaks up sauces so nicely and goes with the crunchy peanuts in the dish). The BBQ pork appetizer is quite delicious, and the spare ribs aren't bad (a tad dry and chewy maybe). It isn't the best General Tso's chicken I've ever had, sadly, and errs on the bland side. I couldn't detect a hint of spice and the color seemed somewhat dull (I love giant pieces of whole dried chilies in my general Tso's). All in all though, it is a convenient, fresh, tasty takeout option. read more

Went for the first time and was not impressed. The buffet has very little to choose from. The food that was there was over cooked. The lo mein was mush, chicken dry and overcooked, soup tastes old, shrimp was over cooked and sticky, rice was over cooked. The best thing about the restaurant was their fried donuts. For a family of five including three kids under ten, this was not worth the money. I left feeling like I had just flushed my money down the drain. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

friday evening 2-23-18 supper buffet @ golden china. we live here in kingsland, ga a bordering town to st. marys, ga. we go to golden china once in awhile. the service here is as it should be. we just got back from there a friday night and this is a 1 table buffet with maybe 10-or 12 items on the buffet. this friday night there was an empty buffet table. of the food on their buffet that was supposed to be available as a buffet, there were 4 items on the buffet all the others were empty through our whole .i had some type of pasta with a cheese in it. then there was the pork on a skewer of which there were maybe 8 of them left in the serving tray. the rice was piled high when i went to the buffet and only went once. i also had broccoli that was alone in the pan with all the meat chosen over the meat in the server tray. i also had an egg roll of which there were only 7-8 still in the serving tray at the buffet. i also had a salad from the salad bar. there was no shredded cheese on the salad bar. 4 types of bottled salad dressing were on the salad bar. now, we have gone there several times on sundays, although they do not open on sundays now according to the waitress there. this food shortage has never been encountered before on any other times we ate at this buffet. so, maybe they had a bad night? when i go to a buffet i plan on several types of food as thats why one goes to a buffet. they started bringing out full trays of food as we were about to leave and by this time i had filled up with what was available previously and did not want any more food. the other item on the buffet i did not have was sesame type chicken? had maybe 6-7 pieces left in the server tray. a very unsettling experience for sure at a "buffet". there was a yellow type soup in the soup area and only 1 type soup. desert was 2-3 types fruit and coconut cookies only. read more

really uncomfortable sitting down to eat. it was terribly hot, and awfully quiet. they either had the a/c set to about 80 or completely off, and it was awkwardly quiet, like i could tell when other people where using their napkins. it made it awkward to even wanna talk, me and my wife where basically whispering at the table to each other while the humidity made our drinks magically slide around. as far as the food, we got the buffet. i realized the food was cold on top, so i kinda stirred it around while making another plate, but by the time i finished and sat down to eat, everything was pretty much cold again. imagine coagulated lo mien, hard rice, and soggy tso chicken with little flavor. our waitress was very nice though. god bless her. i definitely don't believe i will go back guys. i got my fingers crossed a nice new buffet comes along soon. read more

I really want to give them more than three stars but I have to be fair! When they opened the portions were great and the food was among the best! As time has progressed the food portions have gotten smaller and the taste of the food is really hit or miss. When they opened we would get take out or eat there at least once a week but now it's about once a week. I really wish they would go back to the way they were in the beginning. The text message deals are good and that's usually when we go there or we use the coupon in the local deal paper. I also always ask for extra spicy and the extra spicy general tsos is not that spicy. Yesterday they had a special 6 crab wontons for $2 and they were really good definitely recommended. Do I recommend it? It really depends on the day. One day it's the best Chinese food and one day it's like eating Chinese food in the avenues mall at closing time! I will continue to try it and make follow up reviews! read more
