I gave this place 1 star because I had to pick at least one. Placed my order at 3:22 p.m. Ordered 3 pieces dark, 16 piece chicken strips dinner with sides and 1 extra side. I have always loved their dinner rolls, they just melt in your mouth. Today, they were cold and hard. The chicken strips were cold, the dark meat was double dipped. It was hot but dry inside and crunchy (not crisp). The mashed potatoes were instant and had not been mixed well. They were tough. All this food was left over from their lunch run. So I haven't been here in over 6 months because the old Asian manager is rude and unprofessional. Well I was working at the hospital across the street and thought I'd give them another shot. Well I'll tell you what. The food was great! The customer service was ridiculous. That same terrible manager was working again. He doesn't listen to the orders. Then he interrupts you when you start to repeat yourself. I really hope this location gets shut down soon or a refurbishment with the staff. Picked up dinner tonight at Golden Chick at 12320 N MacArthur. I ordered 1 chicken sandwich (only) $4,49, but was charged $7.29. I questioned the price, but was told that was the price for sandwich only. Went back to the ordering station and saw I was right to question the price. I returned to the window and saw the cashier was frustrated with me. The manager came and handled the refund. When I told her I was sure the young man was unhappy with me she smiled and told me it was taken care of now. I ordered a tenders salad. It came without broccoli and tomatoes and no fork. Horrible customer service!!!! Let me rephrase that, their manager is ridiculous. Asked to purchase a roll at time of purchase. Threw our receipt away along with our straw trash. Got our food and as they were giving it to us reaches over and takes the roll out of our tray because "we didn't pay for it" made us dig through the trash just to find out that the cashier DID NOT charge us for it . Made me pull out my wallet just to purchase the roll a stupid roll that was already on our plate . Manager rather be right then to make customers happy. I have got nothing but love for Golden Chick. This review is long overdue! Best chicken place there is, so many reasons for this! The chicken is great, the spicy version is good too. But not only chicken, they serve yeast dinner rolls. They taste like Grandy's. Then there are the fries. If they are fresh from the fryer, none can top them. I had one visit months ago they were old, & it changed everything. Mashed potatoes are good, and the cold chicken salad? So good! You can get that on a bed of greens if your watching your weight, OR, you can get it in the middle of a yeast dinner roll. there we go! It's sad that I'm this passionate about this place. I'm glad a Golden Chick is not closer to my house, then I'd be in trouble. This is a must-try. read more

I bought a 11 piece leg and thigh today, I get home to feed my kids, as soon as I pulled the box out of the bag the entire bottom of the box just busted open, and all my chicken fell on the floor. the bottom of the box wasn't even together right, I called to explain to them that the box they gave me was either a default box or wasn't put together properly and all my chicken had fell out the bottom of the box, the manager is going to sit there and tell me it's not his fault they bagged the chicken properly ,and told me it's my fault I should have taken care of the box,when all I did was pull the box out of the bag so I can start making my kids a plate. I had a bag of mashed potatoes and gravy in the bag as well. the guy was very rude, not understanding and I didn't get to feed my kids because the chicken fell all over the place, I have never seen such a disrespectful, inconsiderate manager like this manager was tonight, I will be calling cooperate on them tomorrow, I definitely won't be going back to this place again, and I don't recommend it to anyone else either. We drove up from Norman specifically to get Fletcher's Corny Dogs. They were open but only for drive through. The manager, an Asian man, was in the parking lot and said he would go in an prepare the 10 corny dogs and three funnel cakes we ordered. He was so accommodating and pleasant. Even to told us how we could freeze them and to reheat them. He informed us that the Corny Dogs would only be available until October 25. The dogs were delicious and every bit as good as the ones at the State Fair, but most of all our interaction with the manager was most impressive. Hope to make it up there again before the 25th. Although I enjoy the flavor of the roasted chicken I detest the attitudes of the employees. You walk in and stand at the register and all the women working just look at you with no greeting. It wasn't busy in there yet they all looked like there was some crazy rush going on. It's not the fault of the customer that you sucked at life and cashier at Golden Chick at the age of 40 which they all looked to be or older. I guess being located on the south side of OKC that's the best and classiest people you're gonna find. read more

In August of this year, I decided to give Golden Chick a second chance after several years. To my delight, the food has been GREAT which as resulted in me getting meals there every week! I attribute the DELICIOUS FOOD & FRIENDLY SERVICE to Freddie, the Manager!!!!! My husband & I have tried the fried catfish, roasted chicken as well as different sides and there chocolate chip cookies. I don't like most chocolate chip cookies because they are super sweet but these cookies are perfect! Almost forgot the chicken salad is mighty good! read more
