Today I got notice Golden 1 CU was looking for feed back since you asked here it is You closed my checking account without my consent and I am primary account holder. My soon to be ex wife took all the money from that account and closed it without my consent. You (G1) allowed her to do that. I worked in finance for 30 years so let me tell you what you (G1) did. In California a financial institution can't close an account by law until you have let all account holders in writing acknowledge that account is closed. Only the primary borrower has authority to initiate closing an account. What you (G1) did with me is you closed an account that was court ordered so we in process of our divorce could pay bills from that account. You interjected yourself (G1) into my divorce proceedings in allowing her to commit a felony and steal my pension. Topping that off here it's a week later and I still haven't been notified by you that account is closed. Instead I get a solicitation E mail wanting more business from me. I have spoken to several people at G1 about this and no-one acknowledging this was wrong and in violation of the law. No-One and I repeat no-one should do business with a financial institution that does not adhere to the laws of California. read more

I used to Branch anion for years which had an absolutely great staff, so I had high expectations when I started using the Jackson branch, and the service is always amazing. Like the company, but this location needs some work on their customer service. Came in yesterday and asked questions regarding adding me to my Husbands account. It was like pulling teeth and quite obvious no one really wanted to help me. Said we'd be in today to add me and not once did anyone mention I could schedule an appointment. Came in today to a long line of people and was told to sign in behind several other people. There wasn't anyone there to help with new accounts and no one said we'll be with you soon or anything. There is no hustle in any of those women. Felt like I was watching sloths and snails. read more

The staff made me feel as though they were doing me a favor waiting on me. No warm and fuzzy feelings here! Very long lines, w/ too much chatting going on while others are waiting. This company seems to be behind the times as their website is terrible.And they could not even provide a copy of a quarterly account statement that I needed to show proof of funds needed during a mortgage loan process. I am closing my account & using a real bank in the future. Staff is also poorly trained but may be limited due to corporate intervention. I really don't know how they stay in business with so many more efficient competitors. Take my advice and go elsewhere. read more

I got a debt consolidation loan here. Initially, I applied online. After a day my loan was approved and I went in to finalize paperwork. I had Steven help me. The process to finalize debt consolidation is a bit lengthy, but that is just the process. Steven was very nice the whole time and had a good sense of humor, despite some interesting customers around. He explained everything clearly so I could understand the process and I would know what was going on. I've had Golden 1 as my primary bank since I was 18, for about 22 years and have not had any problems. I, of course, will continue to keep going back. BEWARE!!!! - DO NOT TRUST this branch to correctly process your account paperwork - THEY WILL SCREW IT UP! I have wasted over 3 hours over the past week and a half trying to straighten out simple paperwork that should have been correctly processed over a month ago. In fact, if I had not double checked to make sure that my paperwork was indeed processed - I would have been charged late fees!!!!!!! ALL BECAUSE THE BRANCH MANAGER, DANIEL, DOES NOT CORRECTLY PROCESS PAPERWORK OR FOLLOWUP WITH CUSTOMERS. Instead of taking responsibility for his mistake, he simply pushed HIS MISTAKE off onto ME to deal with now that I am out of the area. Last I checked, I am the customer and should not be doing the job of the bank teller, or manager for that matter. It is simply inexcusable to not return calls, followup, give incorrect information or offer any apologies for wasting my time. I am relatively certain that this location won't last - not only because of their AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE, but for the simple fact that the Raley's where this branch lives is a ghost town. Good riddance I say. I went to a branch in San Jose today and was treated with respect and concern as a customer should be - they found solutions to the botched paperwork within a short amount of time. Never had any problems. Felt like I should vote because the only other review was a one star from 2013. I don't know anything about that but the staff has always been friendly, helpful and expedient with me. The only problem is the adjacent ATM is often broken down, don't know what's up with that, but it makes things difficult after hours. And with all due respect to the previous poster, Jackson is a small town, but it's not a ghost town, and Raley's is the best grocery store we got. I enjoy this area much more than San Jose, which is a madhouse. Bank fumbles through paperwork? I can deal. Perverts and conmen running amok? No thank you! Just my two cents! Don't listen to the ravings of this person who has no taste except in their mouth and don't know the value of good customer serviice when they see it. I have been a member for many years, since their only office in Amador County was in Ione. Telephone contact is so easy to use and accurate with or without a "voice" at the other end. I like this bank as an everyday bank but the loan officers don't care about customer needs. I understand that there are many factors when giving credit but as soon as "My" bank turned me down I was approved by another company. Now I am considering a new bank all together! read more

I signed up for direct deposit and the first check went through, but the second direct deposit from my work never showed up. After being on the phone with Golden 1 for an hour they stated that my company sent the money over to the wrong acct. number. It went through fine the two weeks prior. They then stated the acct. number was off by two numbers. I used the form their rep. gave to me at the credit union, so she put the wrong number on my direct deposit form! It has been two days and the bank still has not rejected the transfer from my company and sent back. When speaking to customer service they did nothing about it. Just stated it will be rejected and that my company needed to cut me a check. It was clearly there fault because they put the wrong acct. number, but would do nothing to resolve the situation. I now have to drive down to them and get a new direct deposit form for my company with the correct numbers. When I picked up my check I got a copy of the direct deposit form to show them their error and they just said "Oh, sorry we don't recognize the handwriting on the form. I picked up a new form and now my savings acct. number does not match the first one they filled out. Is that incorrect now too? This bank is terrible with customer service and the corporate office staff I spoke with was not much better. My advice is do not bank with them. read more

about a month ago my husband and i went into the golden 1 in Rawley's to open an account. the new account rep's name was tanya. she was great. after opening our account she discussed with us other products that could help us save money. we ended up refinancing our 2 autos with them and a credit card with a lower rate bring over all higher paying cards. i love this credit union and would tell everyone to go there. the people there are wonderful read more
