It's a non smoking hotel and there was a TON of cigarette smoke in the hallway to our room. On the good side: we requested a room on bottom floor near an exit. This was provided. The front desk personnel were pleasant, although when asking for a steakhouse recommendation, stated they were not permitted to recommend anything except the pancake house attached. The bed was comfortable and the shower was roomy.

We stayed one night here due to needing a pet friendly refuge (and a fridge) during a major windstorm and resultant power outage. We did not have time to shop around. The room was fine, nice, stocked kitchen, but the bed was not that comfy. We were in a room away from the busy road, but still needed the fan on all night to cover the noise. Breakfast was a let down. Mostly a lot of packaged things, with the standard sausage gravy and biscuits being the only hot item. Service was fine. We did not need the pool, it is small BTW or the grilling area. The work out room looked to be in nice shape with some decent equipment.

Even after a few complaints from other guests about their smell the staff was happy to help set up a cleaning schedule that worked with my long work hours and offered treats, cleaning supplies, and litter to help me help them. There's only 2 lights in the sleeping area which was barely bright enough to unpack and pack up. A/C unit was either on or off with no adjustment capabilities. Second stay, the electronic door lock didn't work well. After many tries and an updated card key I finally figured out that inserting the key in a certain way worked periodically. Again, the same lighting problem. The toilet flushed off and on all night long. the shower room door jamb was splintered making it impossible to latch the door shut.

There are lots of ash trays around, you can currently only interact with the staff thru a window and are not welcome into the lobby due to covid. It could be that we stayed mid week, but it was quiet and I got a good night's sleep. My main complaint about Motel 6 is that they no longer give you shampoo and conditioner and this is something that is very easy to forget until you are ready to take a shower. I'd stay here again.
