During our trip out west we stopped for a couple of nights at The Broadway Hotel. What a pleasant surprise. Scott was so helpful in giving us direction to the places we wanted to visit. What a surprise! Absolutely the best stop made on my road trip through Idaho and Montana. I wasn't sure about the place when I made the reservation, a historic hotel is a bit out of the norm for me as I can't count on a consistent quality. This wonderful place exceeded all hopes. Scott the owner and town council president treated me like a VIP, and btw, he's a great source for local info. The place was immaculate! It just so happened that there were no other guests on my arrival and he let me choose my room. And so many great choices there are. It's a completely renovated historic building, with all modern amenities and as clean as any of the top hotel chains I've ever stayed in. The floors and common areas all hark back to the heydays of the 1880's when the town was the roaring mining town that put it on the map. The hotel rooms are all themed and done in such a professional manner and with such good taste I was very impressed. The main sitting lobby has the old wood burning fire stove and real skinned furniture that drop you right back into the day. The large central kitchen is all new with all modern amenities. Beds and everything else were very comfortable, and this is also a large facility with lots of room so you don't feel cramped. I enjoyed it so much I extended my stay and I'm really looking forward to a future visit. read more

This is a great place to stay when hitting the slopes at Discovery. I booked a room because I had some biz in PBurg. I was so delighted with the place! I stayed in a lovely and comfortable room with a full bath. So many details were on point, it would be hard to list them all: comfortable mattress/pillows/ bed linens, plenty of towels, shampoo/cond/bodywash, qtips/cottonballs/makeup remover cloth, morning coffee and pastry (scones one day and muffins the next day - both fresh baked in the morning!), right in the heart of town - which you'll appreciate in colder months, haha. read more

My 9 year old son and I spent the night in the Wrangler room of the Broadway Hotel, and can't say enough positive comments about it! Scott was wonderful and very accommodating. Started out as a unique experience for my family and I, but after she found out we had kids in the room we didn't feel welcome anymore by the snotty lady that ran the joint didn't even feel welcome to take kids to breakfast there so i made them sit in the car the rest of the morning until the check out time! Thanks for ruining the experience of Philipsburg no need to go back soon! (NOT KID FRIENDLY SUE) While her dog was running around outside pooping in other people's yards outside and roaming the hotel! Next time I'll take a hard pass and drive back to Drummond Also air conditioning was super loud, shower curtain stunk (must of been an antique) like the miserable owner and her dog! We enjoy spending time in this beautiful and immaculate restored hotel. Sue is an wonderful hostess and super efficient.

The IDEA of this place is wonderful, and we thought how fun it would be to come back on our motorcycle just the two of us.....but......as for the overall experience, horrible. Instant flashbacks to parochial school, being scolded by the nun before I even had a full cup of coffee in my veins. Somehow we booked a room with our two kids but the room was adults only because of all the valuable "antiques". My kids grew up in an antique store so they have the utmost respect for such things. Was informed very rudely that there is no eating in the rooms and we didn't even eat there. Another guest was interrogated about making a pot of coffee in the kitchen during my scolding. I was told that they HATE making up the hide a bed so hopefully we didn't use it and we hadn't. Then we were accused of not handing both sets of keys in, but then the keys were suddenly there. There was an old dog scrounging around the hotel during "breakfast" and going to the bathroom all over outside. I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable and stressed out at a hotel in my life. If there was a Motel 6 nearby I would've jumped ship. Oh and check out time is 10am which is very inconvenient for most people, there are no exceptions to that rule. A little note by the toilet paper saying not to use a lot of it. So tacky. The local townspeople weren't at all surprised when I spoke of our bad decision to stay there. Hopefully somebody will take this place over someday and be more tasteful about things, then we can go back and have a nice relaxing time.... read more

What a great place to stay. We stayed in the Discovery room and loved it. The room was very large as was the bathroom and the sauna - what a treat!!! The entire hotel was extremely clean and well kept. Breakfast was fantastic and felt very homey. Didn't make it to the candy store but hope to return to see this famous store. AND when we do, we will definitely stay the Broadway Hotel. read more

The Broadway Hotel is such a fun place to stay. We have stayed several different times and every time is a delight. The rooms are all decorated reflecting the theme name on the door. The sitting area is full of wonderful antiques and comfortable chairs and a lovely gas fire as well. A wonderful continental breakfast is served and Sue, the owner, is a delight. We love her!!! We had a wonderful time staying in the Miner's Snug (located 1/2 block from the hotel and "4-Way"). Sue does a wonderful time maintaining a clean and lovely 2 bedroom house for weary travelers. The house complete complete with a kitchen, bar porch with deck table w/ chairs, and a grill. The setting is very relaxing and centrally located to downtown! The location is also close to destination points like Granite Ghost Town, Georgetown Lake (fishing), and Gem Mountain (sapphire screening) and is 40 minutes to Anaconda. This is a wonderful place to stay in the heart of town in a beautiful area of the country. Fantastic area for fly fishing in and around Rock Creek. This hotel is in a old historic building that was renovated and has the feel of a B & B. Very charming and hospitable owner and hostess, Sue. I feel at home here in our spacious and comfortable room (Discovery Room). Continental style Breakfast and free wifi are included. I highly recommend a stay here. read more

Wonderful and welcoming atmosphere. Sue was ultra accomodating and accessible. The staff pleasant, non-intrusive but ever ready to assist. Found the property to be comfortable and inviting. Location is great, walk to eat, shop, wander. Stayed in the Route 66 Room which was decorated interestingly and fun. Small sink area difficult to put cosmetics, etc however mirror cabinet saved me. I'm really not getting why this place has almost 5 stars! Our experience wasn't even deserving of one star! We stayed in the Las Polomas room supposedly the honeymoon suite... First off we were told that check in was between 3-6 so we showed up about 5. The front door was locked so we went around to the back and locked as well! After looking around a bit we found a stack of envelopes hanging on the door with names of guests and keys to rooms saying sorry we aren't in.... Ok so we check the room out the smell was horrible to start! The bedding was absolutely disgusting old smelly dirty just gross! The bed was something out of the dump! It was hot in the room and the standing ac unit that was vented to the outside sounded like a freight train... And good luck getting ready ladies if you like to do your makeup and hair gotta stand on your tippy toes to see in the above sink mirror in the room itself right next to the bed... I don't know this whole experience make our anniversary horrible what a dump! And even in the morning at check out we were surprised to see someone at the desk... But maybe would have been better if she was not there to begin with... Didn't even ask how our stay was or anything very rude and not nice... And very poorly dressed for a front desk person at a motel... Beware people this is such a dive and as I said I dunno why this has good reviews... Maybe we just got the worst room I have no idea but it was one of the more expensive ones so musta been one of their better ones!! read more
